10 minute Standing Pilates and Abs Workout- No Equipment Needed!

  • Challenge your balance as well as your core with this 10 minute standing Pilates workout. It's much harder than it looks! I created it especially for you after the popularity of my other standing workout. These exercises will work your spine in all directions to help it feel more flexible and strong, you'll do stretches as well as exercises to tone your thighs and glutes and I've included some new exercises to really challenge your balance. I've also added a standing core work for the first time, let me know what you think!
    You can do this workout anywhere, at home or on holiday. It's a simple, effective Pilates routine, explained clearly and at a steady pace so you can do it along with me. I recommend it be done daily to keep you feeling fit and flexible wherever you are. Enjoy!

    I have been doing all of your videos for seniors. I am 72 and spent the last year dealing with complications from surgery. Since recovery I have been loosing weight, down 70 pounds, and your classes have been helping me feel younger and not like such a couch potato. Thank you

    I am 81 (a young 81) and just discovered your Pilates workouts. Love them. Can't do the standing on one leg for long probably due to a hip replacement in the right leg but love the variety and only the standing ones. Thank you for these. They are helping tremendously.

    I am 84 and like Lucy love your videos, they are indeed tremendously helpful. It’s very good to have guidance re the breathing otherwise I’m soon out of sync. Can’t do some of the balance exercises but hey practice makes perfect! Thank you Rachel. Josie

    My right arm was quite problematic. That is I could only lift it so far(not very far). It was due to an accident I had years ago and I was told I would have a permanent disability. Thanks to you and your workouts the mobility in it is great, I can now lift it and follow your routine, Thank you

    I came across your standing Pilates workouts after some research on UA-cam. I started with your workout for the over 60s, but I confess that I am 78. I used to do Pilates a few years ago, but having Dupuytrens Contracture operations on my hand, I cannot put my hand flat on the floor, which is uncomfortable for me. So I took up aqua aerobics instead. Now the gym is closed, I am starting to do your standing Pilates classes and feel that my balance is improving. Your speech is so clear, unlike some of the other videos I have watched. Thankyou so much.

    I have worked out all of my life. I recently had a heart attack and am trying to get back to what I love. Thank God I found you! Your workouts are meticulous and so effective. There is no fluff like some others. I have always loved pilates and enjoy every moment I spend on your videos. I just want to keep going and going.     MY BODY IS IN LOVE WITH THES 10 MINUTE STANDING PILATES WORKOUTS! If I feel good I can keep going, if I don’t feel so hot I’m still feel empowered anytime I push through and see a 10 minute workout too. Keep uploading!

    Besides being a great quick workout for a break from work and sitting at my desk - I also find that you are one of the best Pilates instructors on UA-cam!! You so thoroughly explain every movement, how the body/core should be positioned and especially breathing technique. I love it, and I’m so glad I found your channel!!     I came across your video by accident, or I've got a guardian angel guiding me. I did pilates for many years, many years ago. I am now so stiff and have very poor balance, but I will be joining you daily and looking forward to improvement. Thank you for doing these sessions.

    Than you Rachel. I am 68, overweight with a knee replacement so kneeling isn’t always a good option. I love your standing classes. I need to improve my balance too and I think your videos will really help. Keep up the great work.

    Just done my first live workout. Found it tough but good. Only found you a few weeks ago and do one of your workouts

    Thank you Rachel. I had major heart surgery in October and was attending the Cardiac Rehab Gym. I got half way through when the lockdown began and we had to stop. But your classes have been fantastic and a bonus has been that I now have a husband who previously wouldn’t have gone near a Pilates class doing your exercises for his back. Many, many thanks.

    These are by far and away the very best pilates videos, I've ever viewed. I've suffered with a back issue for years and never really got the hang of Pilates despite watching tons of videos. Your explanation and pace of these workouts are excellent, please keep uploading. (I wish I lived near Chiswick or you lived near Chester!)

It's always difficult to know when filming if what I'm doing is working so I do very much appreciate the feedback. Don't forget that our bodies benefit from consistent exercise so try and do one of these videos 2/3 times a week and you'll really start to feel the difference within 6 weeks or so.     I just found your videos over the last few weeks while looking for some gentle exercises to do while staying at home. I love love love the standing ones. I had to give up my pilates classes a couple of years ago because of vertigo/dizziness. I was worried about getting sick or lighted during a class. Again, That You🥰

    Really enjoying the standing Pilates, I’m 66 next week and intermittently troubled by sciatica/tightness of piriformis area after tripping and hurting myself a couple of years ago. I find the exercises very helpful and effective. Thank you.

    Thank you Rachel! Your classes are perfect for those who find floor work uncomfortable and suffer pain for a time afterwards. Your instruction is very good and very clear and I can feel the benefit from doing these Pilates movements. I like that they are fairly short so you can fit them in between housework or other things and you can repeat or find a couple of other standing short ones if you want a longer session. Just perfect.     Hi thank you so much for your classes. I love the standing classes. I have fibromyalgia and I cannot do long classes because the pain gets to bad. My shoulders are very sensitive for exercises and quickly turns into a migraine. But I find your 10-15 min just enough to not overdo it and I still have done something! Thank you so much for sharing your expertise with us for free. It is much appreciated 🌸🌸🌸

    Please do more slow, standing workouts like this. Due to upper back and neck issues, I cannot do any type of strengthing exercise on the floor. I also have to do slower workouts where I stay really concious of my movements. I've only found a handful of good standing Pilates videos on UA-cam that I can use so it is nice to have this new one to add to my workouts. Thank you so much!

      Hello Zandron, that's great to hear. Driving a truck is a tough job and hard on the back so this is an ideal form of exercise to ease the back, stretch the legs and build core strength.     Thank you for this video. I am recovering from post concussion syndrome during this pandemic which means I have to be very gentle with how I move my head and how quickly or how much I move my body and this is exactly what I was looking for in order to help me slowly build my body strength again.     i am definitely a fan of these workouts and i like your approach. The sound quality was a bit poor on this one - you sounded as if you were in a hall and even my volume up its was quite quiet.

      Hello Richard, Thanks very much for your message and feedback, I'm really glad you like the workouts and my approach to teaching. You are absolutely right, the sound is not as good on this one, we had a problem with the microphone I was using which I have since changed. One of those tech issues we had no control over. Glad it was still just about audible for you and thanks for watching. your continued support is most appreciated.
