I wanted to patch a pair of pants with crochet but other methods invove sewing machines or fabric glue which I am not a fan of, SO HAPPY to have found this video it looks exactly how I need my patch to look to look nice :) thank you for posting!
Thank you! I knew about crocheting into a blanket stitch, but never liked the little 'legs' it leaves on the fabric. Never thought to use a sewing chain stitch, but it makes so much sense! I imagine the chain stitch attachment style might be a little bit sturdier too, given that the tighter spacing gives you more points of contact?
I wanted to attach granny squares to a pair of jeans I have and was breaking my head trying to find a solution that looked pretty, thank you so much for the video. This guide helped me solve the issue
Look at an embroidery video, for beginners.Poke the needle through from the back. Poke it back through but leave a loop. Poke it through at the end of the loop and start a new loop.
How would you continue around the corners with the chain stitch? How would you crochet multiple squares together that have the chain stitch base? Thanks Trying to do this with quilt squares. Great video 😊
Thank you for sharing, will use it to make my dress longer as it is too short for my taste. Please let me know the pattern you used, it’s so pretty! Xx
You make a lovely chain stitch. Would you suggest making the chain stitch on the right side or the wrong side of a tea towel I want to crochet an edge on?
If I were to use chain stitch with bulky acrylic yarn (weight 5-6) could it damage the fabric? (I’m trying to connect a hoodie sweater to my crochet project, and I’d like it to withstand a washing machine/dryer)
Thank you so much! The chain stitch is so much nicer than the mattress stitch, and this is the only example I’ve found.

Thank you, Janie! I want to finish a t-shirt. I will actually use the chain stitch to sew the hem on and start a skirt from there. 💫
Thanks ....but how do you start this chain on fabric?
I was wondering the same thing. I did find an example of it on CutesyCraft’s channel of starting the chain stitch.
Exactly my question because she started before teaching

It's an embroidered chain. It's made with a needle.
@MariaMartinez-researcher She asked how to start the chain stitch on the fabric, not what kind of stitch it is.
I love the way you teach is clear
Thank you for short right to the point video 👍🌷

Thank you thank you thank you! I have been crocheting for years and just learning and trying to add sewing and fabric to my work
This was very helpful. Thank you!
I have recently started serging around the edge, folding the fabric under and crocheting into the serged stitches. It’s much faster

How do you start the chain stitch? I see how to do it once it's started, but not the beginning stitch.
Excellent tutorial! Thank you

How do you do that particular border please? Thanks v
Thank you so much!
3:19 For viewers in the US, this is what we call a half-double, rather than a "double" crochet.
No, it's a SINGLE crochet in U.S. (double crochet in the UK)
Thank you! By any chance, have you ever made bowl covers from Victorian times? Doilies with weighted beads? Thank you again did the teaching. Shalom
Thank you so much!! Soooooo helpful!!
How did you do the square edging? Is there a pattern somewhere?
Beautiful work!👌
Thank you! Mystery solved :-).
What is the simple edging pattern you're using? Very pretty.
Thanks
How do you connect what you have just done to a similar piece of fabric to make a quilt? Either by the chain or blanket stitch method.
If I were to use chain stitch with bulky acrylic yarn (weight 5-6) could it damage the fabric? (I’m trying to connect a hoodie sweater to my crochet project, and I’d like it to withstand a washing machine/dryer)
soo helpful thank u so much!
Very useful thank you :)
What kind of yarn are you using? Is a 3 weight yarn or less
How did you start your chain stitch to the fabric
If I was to do two fabrics together would you zig zag the edges together first
What size hook? And what stitch are you using?
How do you initially start the chain stitch
❤
👍
I am a sewer and theres nothing wrong with your tutorial -except that the selvedge should be cut off and not used as a convenient ready-bound edge.
Thanks
