Thank you so much! I was looking at doilies at goodwill and I was saying to my mom "why is all of this stuff so expensive? This is goodwill!" And she said well nobody crochets lace anymore. Well I know how to crochet and I'm going to learn! You're amazing!
I wear handmade prairie skirts, and I have a plain cotton petticoat with a cord cinch tie underneath. Just a cotton slip, really. I want to add this to the edge, I think it would be lovely! So excited to make it.

my grandma taught me to crochet when I was around 11-12yrs old. The Internet has been helping me learn and add flair to projects since 2016 since she can’t anymore. Would embroidery floss would work? I don’t have crochet specific yarn that size, but it seems similar enough!!
Embroidery floss would work and look lovely. The only thing is the length or yardage of the floss may not be enough unless they do large skeins i am only familiar with the smaller ones.
Hello, That was lovely. I probably not ready for that yet. I want to try a single and then a double in a blanket stitch? I made a needle holder out of felt. Could you please do a video on that possibly.
How would you make a corner with this pattern. I made a beautiful filet table runner and would like to this edging but don't know how I would turn corner. Beautiful edging you have shared with us.
I have had a go at working corners this eorks quite well but it will be quite tricky to work out exact stitch counts for where your corners need to be. I am working on a video using a different foundation row that will work better but for now this is the best I can come up with: ROW 1: Place 3 hdc in one ch at each corner. ROW 2: work original pattern, as you approach a corner ensure your last stitch on that side is a sc, then ch 3 sk 2 and work the corner as follows: In the 2nd hdc in the corner, work 1dc, 1ch, 1dc, 1ch, 1dc, 1ch, 1dc. Next: 3ch, skip 2hdc, sc in the next hdc then continue with the pattern. Row 3: work same as original pattern but at the corner you now have 3, 1ch spaces between dc: In the first space: sc, ch3, sc, in 2nd space: sc, ch5, sc, ch7, sc, ch5, sc In the 3rd space: sc, ch3, sc Continue with original pattern. Hope this helps. Susan 😊
Is 1.5mm hook the regular when it comes to making this sorta stuff? Every tutorial I’ve seen has always used a 1.5 hook, is there a particular reason? Also your voice is so comforting 🥰🥰
Thank you. If you are using a size 10 thread then a 1.5mm hook is usually recommended. You can crochet this lace in any size thread or yarn you like....just use the recommended hook size for the yarn. Hope this helps 😊
Instead of starting eith a length of chains and working half double crochets I would work a foundation row of sc and then work the lace. It will give a stretch to the base of the lace snd make it easier to fit around the neck. I have tutorial on how to work a single crochet foundation row..all in one...on my channel. Hope this helps. Best wishes Susan x
Thank you😊. At the beginning of the first row you hdc in the 3rd ch from the hook, in doing so you skip 2chs, the 2chs count as a hdc. This gives a total of 19 sts in your first row (18hdc and ch2). Hope this helps😊
It’s beautiful crochet lace, had difficulty following since I needed to see your work stitches, it was covered by your fingers. I don’t mean no bad, just my honest opinion. Have a great day.
Hi Sylvia, this video may be more helpful as I demonstrate the same lace using a thicker yarn. ua-cam.com/video/DiX87mJoa0Q/v-deo.html Hope this helps. Best wishes Susan 😊
Another beginner's review: don't know what a double crochet is. But I'm going to have to look it up somewhere else bacause that's way too fast to see what's happening. However. Once you've done that, this is an easy tutorial to follow. 👍
Thank you so much for letting me know 🤗 I really appreciate your feedback. I will make sure I slow down and demonstrate the stitches to start. Really glad you managed to complete the lace 😊
@@TiaraLaceCrochet I have not. 😔 I'm trying to see the difference between what you call a single and a double crochet on the third row, at the moment. (when you start) It really doesn't help than a double and a single are the same thing depending on language so tutorials are just helping to confuse me further. But I WILL get this. *huffs* *starts again* (This petticoat will get a lace edging, I swear)
Update: when you do the double, one chain, double again. I can't see whether it's done in the same base stitch or in the next one over. I feel like you've said the same one? But it looks really wonky and tight if I do it. So I must be doing something wrong. 🤔

How do I do this on a pinafore dress?
You can crochet the lace separately and then stitch it on or you could embroider the blanket stitch onto your dress and then work the lace into that.
Quick question I know you said you can make it as long as you can but what multiple is the pattern for example a multiple of 4?
It is worked in multiples of 6 + 2 😊
