What is minimum cfm requirements for compressor to soda blast? And whats a good blast pot to use for the soda? We have a powder coating business and do our own sand blasting. Was thinking about offering soda blasting for mold removal
@@CrawlSpaceNinja same in NC. So in TN you don't need applicators license for baking soda. I think in NC anything sprayed must possess applicators license. That's even if you are lawn care company spraying herbicides on concrete, around fences and such.
Where i work they use cornstarch to blast expoxy paints off aircraft metal surfaces. It the more organic way for paint removal. It is better than using harsh chemicals.
Never tried the dry ice, soda blasting can be multipurpose, you can use that setup for other things other than house work. Trim the beard down to a 5 day grow, it will look more professional in my opinion.
Yes! We are in parts of North Carolina right now. You can check out our service area here: crawlspaceninja.com/service-area/ We will be coming to parts of South Carolina soon.
I hope you guys see this I really need some advice on this. There is a company in my area that has a soda blasting machine available to rent. Is there a minimum PSI or any other minimum requirements that a soda blaster needs in order to be effective ?
@@Brandon-no3vc its a little late to comment here but its more about CFM output of the compressor, any compressor can hit 30 psi but there needs to be enough air volume to maintain the pressure.
Can you combine the soda blasting with a high volume vac cleaning system to remove most of the soda as you go ?? I never thought of the breathing aspect of the dry ice blasting. So thanks for that helpful info.
I would imagine there would be some incidental inhalation of the soda dust by default despite of quality of mask and filters must clog quickly in the density of closed or confined spaces. It does not seem a healthy job and I would not want to expose my lungs, myself or anyone for the sake of deodorizing or cleaning a space. I would not want to deal w/ the fine dust that would permeate a clients house either. It seems like a liability. Dry ice seems like a healthier alternative IMOO.
Oh yeah also, people do dry ice blasting and soda blasting everyday and no health problems. So... Wrong on two of your points there. Dangerous jobs are part of of maintaining a home. That's what protective equipment and professionals are for
Shave it... only because I love you guys and your videos too much. I want your PPE have a good seal with this stupid virus! Keep up the great work ninjas!
Is this an all or nothing situation? You can always shake things up with a good trim. That way you don't have to walk around with a cold face. I vote keep the beard, but your wife is the best person to answer that question.
I would consider trimming the beard to a cleaner, well defined look. But--I would certainly give the veto option to your wife. She has to live with you 24/7.

It's close to the same as sandblasting as far as CFM, the media is lighter than sand though and isn't the same device setup as a sandblaster.
How many square feet per pound do you get off a dryice blasting on cleaning old wood joists without paint?
Do you treat with boracare +mold care? Is so what are the benefits? If not why?
In TN must be pest control to use it. Our states funny rules. I hear it's pretty good stuff. Is that what you use?

Interesting
Cheers, soda blasting might be messier, but dry ice can be dangerous.
Can this be used on wood flooring to strip the old finish off? It seems a lot easier than sanding.
Yes sunbelt rentals 800 a day.... check out cold jet videos
What about nut or cob blasting ?

GREAT video. thank you.
Glad you liked it!
Is it actual baking soda you are using from a grocery store?
It's very similar! It's just a much larger quantity than what you could get at the grocery store.
Thanks for this info! You mentioned expanding-- by any chance are you in the Carolinas?

We have never tried that but I'm sure you could try it. We leave the soda in the crawl space to help deodorize the space more.
@@CrawlSpaceNinja does a lot of the soda go thro the negative air filter?

Did you watch the video? He said dry ice gives off carbon dioxide. Dry ice is probably more toxic.

Shave the beard! Question, what if you soda blast in an attic or another part of a home? How do you remove the soda afterward?
Shop vacuums with HEPA work well

Leave the beard, buy a guitar and start a band called ZZ Ninja !

I vote for trimming the beard, so the public face setting the standard for crawl space encapsulation reflects that standard: short beard, please.
keep it!!!
Your beard looks fine. And you look great with or without it. So your own self image is up to you.
leave it and put in 2 braids ;-)
HA! If i do that i would have to get a Harley
I'm first commenter again? Strange...
