    Couple questions..
    Do we use seal foam and seal vents and cracks before or after soda blasting?
    Right now we have vents covered with plastic on the out side of house.
    Second question..
    Do you remove the dehumidifier and vent fans from under house when soda blasting?
    Right now they are in place drying out the crawl space.

      Great questions! in order to prevent soda from going everywhere in your house we recommend sealing any cracks, vents, and any holes that might be on the sub floor from pipes. also we do remove the dehumidifier during this process to ensure that it doesnt break! let us know how your project goes! and if you want to take some video and you are ok with it we might even show it on our channel!

    Not manufactured in Washington State. It’s manufactured on Washington Street in a small town in Georgia. Bought the mid-range system last month. Good system

    Thank you for the insightful videos. I am curious as to what measures are taken to protect wiring and plumbing in the crawl space prior to soda blasting.

    So, do you (1) dry out crawlspace with dehumidifier; (2) remove fiberglass insulation; (3) kill mold with hydrogen peroxide or other mold killing liquid; (4) soda blast; and (5) vacuum up the soda?

      Remove fiberglass, dry out crawl space, soda blast, use mold cleaner. The mold cleaner will be more effective at penetrating the wood once the soda has removed the surface mold. Hope this helps!

      Lay down and tape/secure the new moisture barrier before blasting?

    Are you guys possibly expanding into the Raleigh/Durham NC area in the next five years?
    If not, do you have a video that outlines the order of steps for a DIY'er? Soda before cleaner, for example.

      We are looking at expanding, the timing is not set yet. Regarding the soda blasting, we dry, then soda blast then apply preventative.

    Is there a reason you soda blast vs dry ice blast? It would seem dry ice blasting would be superior in every way given that it would kill mold on contact due to the extremely cold temperature (I've heard that it explodes the molecular structure of the mold, but not sure where I saw that), while also leaving no residue behind given that it turns into a gas.

    I saw a soda blaster from harbor freight for 150$ then the compressor was around 800$ is that setting up for failure or at I missing something in the set up ?

      We had a DIYer use a similar soda blaster, it took 10 times longer than what we use but he said it was effective.

    Do you leave the soda blast material under the house or do you remove it?

    • @CrawlSpaceNinja
      @CrawlSpaceNinja  4 роки тому +4

      Yes, we do. The baking soda acts as a natural deodorizer in the crawl space.

    Is it true if I put a dehumidifier under my house before correcting a mold issue the dehumidifier will allow the mold spores to get into the house?

    • @CrawlSpaceNinja
      @CrawlSpaceNinja  4 роки тому +2

      I'm not sure how the dehumidifier would allow air into your living space unless you are ducting it into your living space from the crawl space. I've never heard of this claim before. You do need to install a dehumidifier before correcting any mold or structural issues. If your wood moisture levels are above 15% and relative humidity is about 50-60%, otherwise your mold disinfectant will not be as effective and the mold has a good chance of coming back.

    Would a borate treatment be as effective as the soda blasting and application of disinfectant?

    • @CrawlSpaceNinja
      @CrawlSpaceNinja  4 роки тому

      the soda blasting is used to clean the mold after the disinfectant has killed the mold.

      Oh so you test the mold with a dilation first before soda blasting ?
