What do you do for containment on the floor of the crawlspace. I’m concerned that shooting the mold off onto the damp dirt and then covering it with the 10 mil is going to be a hot bed for mold growth. Do you spray something all over the ground after soda blasting to kill everything off?
The dirt floor is already a hot bed for mold, that is usually where mold/fungus originates. I have heard people recommend spraying the dirt for mold but it will return. Great question, thanks for watching.
Can you tell me if you service Murfreesboro, TN? I would be interested in a soda blast treatment so that I can prepare the space for an encapsulation afterwards. Additionally, how long after soda blast do I safely have to encapsulate the crawl space? Thanks for the informative videos, Jim
Can you advise on the best way to create a containment area in the crawl space for a DYI person? Currently we have the outside vents covered in plastic except for 2 vents that have a Lonanco vent. The dehumidifier is currently under the home drying out the wood. The 2 said vents and dehu will be removed prior to soda blasting. An air scrubber and a soda blaster is being rented. Wondering if we need anything else to keep humidity out while we soda blast. We just want to be sure we have everything right and we don’t end up fighting the humidity under the house as we soda blast. Side note if Crawl Space Ninja was in our area we would have used you for our project. Because you are not we are very thankful for the DYI store and all your videos!!
Hello Phillips Family! Normally what we do before we soda blast is we go around the crawl space and make sure all possible cracks, oepenings, vents are sealed. We use a combination of foam board and spray foam to do so. We also use scrubbers on the inside of the house to make sure no soda goes in the house. hope this helps and let us know how the project went!
