Great video Kyle! As a typical zealous convert, I often times feel the need to engage my non-orthodox friends and family to try and convince them of Orthodoxy. I go to an non-Denominational evangelical church, but I want to convert to Orthodoxy. The problem is I’m 17 and can’t drive, and I’m unsure about telling others because I’m unsure how they will respond. I’m not exactly sure what to do.
My friend just leave that church. Focus on the Orthodox way of life at home while you can. Once you can drive then go to an Orthodox Church. Contact a parish priest so you can ask questions. Maybe someone can give you a ride as well from that church? Just stay away from your church. Don’t worry about how others will respond either, this is your cross and your sacrifice that you will make for God. I was once Protetsant also non-denominational and southern Baptist. I lost all my friends from those churches. Best decision I ever made in my life. Get Orthodox books and Learn the Jesus prayer. I went to a mega church youth camp back when I was Protestant. on the final night they did a foot washing ceremony 💀 I’m not joking. We weren’t even Amish, this was a non denominational church. It was held at a gymnasium, they had rows of chairs with candles and a bucket of soap next to them. The entire room was illuminated but the candles. It was the creepiest thing I’ve seen in Protestant worship. I look back on it and laugh because it was ridiculous, but I think that night probably led kids away from Christianity. If they think Christianity is a megachurch dance party with cult like foot washing ceremonies, then I doubt those kids will ever want to go near a church. And that’s a serious problem. I remember thinking Christianity was lame before I found orthodoxy. So if you have any friends who are disillusioned with Protestantism, show them the truth ☦️
Free Will Baptists consider foot washing an "ordinance", Non-Denominational organizations tend to be Baptist in their beliefs, maybe that megachurch came from a Free Will Baptist background. This video is spot on. One of the many reasons I felt the true presence of God was because of the traditional ways of worship in the orthodox church. Growing up a JW, the kingdom halls inside are just blank. There's no decor, all neutral dull colors for the walls. Some halls don't even have windows! And you're sitting there for 2 hours listening to talk after talk, and they expect children to behave and stay quiet for that long. They don't include anyone else expect on Sundays for the Watchtower question and answer segment that's really just scripted answers from trusted members of the congregation. Only other heavily cultured congregations had their culture visually represented in their kingdom hall. But in American Kingdom Halls it's dreadful. When I finally walked into my local orthodox church it was such a physical experience that I was like in a shock. And every time I go, I still get goosebumps, teary eyed and anxiety from processing everything. It's definitely still "new" even after a few months but I love it.
Great video, did enjoy. I would like to get my friend into orthodoxy, but he's a big time baptist so things take time. It's important not to be arrogant and impatient when it comes to things like this, just as you said in the video! Thanks for the informational video!! Truly appreciate it. God Bless!!! ❤️☦️

I recently found your channel through suggested videos, and I'm SO GRATEFUL I did! My family and I converted to Orthodoxy about 3 years ago. I was raised pentecostal, and my husband was raised Evangelical as well. You are so correct when you said that "Your theology is reflected in your worship." YES! I felt a nagging emptiness my entire life in Pentecostalism. There were questions that no one could answer regarding our faith, and "Because that's just what we believe." Wasn't cutting it any longer. By the grace of our good God, we found the ancient Faith, and our lives haven't stopped changing in ways that are small and large since. My husband is not the same man, and he tells me I'm not the same woman. In all humility, it is the work of the Holy Spirit in His Church that deserves glory. Thank you for your labor of love in creating your channel and how much you pour into each video! Christ is in our midst! Blessings, friend! ❤️☦️🙏
A holy Ghost shotgun, like they're doomslayer or something. It's not too far from one clip of an evangelical service that literally made me think i was watching a clip of Eric Andre. It really did feel like some sort of adult swim thing.
Great video Kyle. False teachers like that always make me angry. Its like when I see someone I know is a dusbeliever I know what to except, but seeing protestants that say they are christian be so disrespectful to God baffles me.
They don’t think they are. They truly believe they’re guided by the Holy Spirit. Most Protestants don’t know any better because that aren’t even aware of what is better. They don’t know orthodoxy exist because many orthodox people do not evangelize to them. I only know about it because of Protestant preacher who visited and wanted to expose Protestants to other Christian denominations. If it wasn’t for him only God knows when I would’ve discovered Orthodoxy. I used to watch Isaiah. He really does love God or at least the version he’s been exposed to. He used to be an atheist who converted to Christianity. If he talked to someone that knows orthodoxy he would be be open to it. I hope Orthodox people would stop looking at Protestants in a negative light. Many are so nice and can be very pious. They fast often, don’t listen to secular music, attend church twice a week or more, at church 3+ hours, read their bibles and pray daily. They’re just misguided.
@@sweetxjc i am not talking about most protestants. I know they love God. I am talking about those who take it too far and pretend to be christians, like keneth copeland, joel osteen, calvinist and many others.

How is it that both Roman Catholic priest and orthodox priest are able to perform exorcisms if only one is the true successor of Christ’s original church?
I was raised nominally Baptist growing up, only going to church rarely, until my mother had a born again experience and now we currently go to a non-denominational church. I actually appreciate my time there but I believe the truth is in the Orthodox Church. My parents know about my interest in Orthodoxy and thankfully they aren't completely against me going there. They don't believe in it but they aren't the complete anti-Catholic/Orthodox type, probably due to my father being raised Catholic. Also I appreciate the shoutout to Fr. Stephen De Young, he is actually the priest of my local Orthodox church so it is really cool to see him mentioned. Respect from one Kyle to another.
I think he was saying he was going to use the Holy Spirit like a shotgun to blast away demons. Which is ridiculous and completely irreverent at best. Nice pfp by the way.
What he is saying is that The Holy Spirit gave him a "spiritual" Shotgun to shoot demons with And he call his weapon... the """Holy Ghost Shotgun""". Yes... I say this as a former Protestant...
They definitely know their Bibles, and there are history buffs among them. But I don't know if they all know the history of church tradition. They forget that St. Paul told us to carry it to each generation by word of mouth. The way they worship is unfamiliar with the apostles service.
I don't know how much they even know their Bibles to be honest. They seem to know about the New Testament (or at least how they view the NT), but most of them are completely ignorant of the Old Testament.
@@Polycarp1992 depends on the denomination. Modern Marcionites definitely take the form of "liberal" churches. I know a lot of Protestants who embrace the Old Testament, though. Especially the strict Mennonites
I was chatting with a catechumen about the need for a priesthood, and explaining that as an altar server i actually have not been ordained at all. I going back to how ordered Jewish worship in Leviticus is helps answer some of those questions
I'm glad that before I started converting to Orthodoxy I was Episcopal because despite all the anti Christian nonsense that went on there the Liturgy or Holy Eucharist as it was called was always very solemn which made it easy to get used to the Divine Liturgy.

I love these Bible verses that clearly illustrate how God's true presence does not involve a lot of noise. I think this can be applied to the loud, emotional services in some churches. God is not in the noise, He is greater than the noise, and He will be there after the noise is gone: I Kings 19:11 NKJV [11] Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; [12] and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.
1 Timothy 2:8 Verse Concepts Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension. Leviticus 9:22 Verse Concepts Then Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and blessed them, and he stepped down after making the sin offering and the burnt offering and the peace offerings. Exodus 17:11 Verse Concepts So it came about when Moses held his hand up, that Israel prevailed, and when he let his hand down, Amalek prevailed. 1 Kings 8:22 Verse Concepts Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the assembly of Israel and spread out his hands toward heaven. 1 Kings 8:54 Verse Concepts When Solomon had finished praying this entire prayer and supplication to the Lord, he arose from before the altar of the Lord, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread toward heaven.

Micah 5:9 Verse Concepts Your hand will be lifted up against your adversaries, And all your enemies will be cut off. Great video Kyle! As a typical zealous convert, I often times feel the need to engage my non-orthodox friends and family to try and convince them of Orthodoxy. But often times when I do this, I end up just getting frustrated and even offended when they don’t see their own delusion when exposed so clearly. I think you made a really good point when you said to just plant seeds and pray for them ☦️

Be patient! don't argue... you can discuss but don't endlessly argue!
Do what you can at home and be patient and pray that you may be able to go to a church soon! God bless!
Is the bus an option until you get your DL? Go to a Divine Liturgy and you won't want to go back. That's what happened to me.

You should make a series going through all the major protestant denominations pointing out all their heresies and how they differ from traditional church teaching
1 million years later...
It almost always comes down to either pride or disagreements over secondary issues
The church camp was a megachurch btw, I was at a small Protestant church that went with them
There's an Orthodox Saint who did foot washings but I forget who.
Free Will Baptists consider foot washing an "ordinance", Non-Denominational organizations tend to be Baptist in their beliefs, maybe that megachurch came from a Free Will Baptist background. I almost became a Free Will Baptist before finding Orthodoxy, washing some old ladies' feet sounded strange to me as well. @@ofauvi2089

Yeah the deliverance ministry is odd. Some of the things they're preaching is borderline witchcraft.
Great video Kyle. False teachers like that always make me angry. Its like when I see someone I know is a dusbeliever I know what to except, but seeing protestants that say they are christian be so disrespectful to God baffles me.
Kinda reminds of the quote “on honest enemy is better than a lying friend”

A hard fact is that lots of evangelicals, like lots of our family members, are impenetrable and know everything about Christianity already lol
They just know so much that isn't so.
Isaiah Saldivar's Striking resemblance too Nick Eh 30 has me cracking up every time i see a clip of him. Thank you for this video Kyle, hopefully someday these goofy "Worship" services wont be the first thing people think of when they think of Christianity.

I love these Bible verses that clearly illustrate how God's true presence does not involve a lot of noise. I think this can be applied to the loud, emotional services in some churches. God is not in the noise, He is greater than the noise, and He will be there after the noise is gone:
I Kings 19:11 NKJV
[11] Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake;
[12] and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.
