I love how Optimized Utima is just something you can shrug off in this fight. It really drives how strong the Warrior of Light has become since A Realm Reborn.

@@TonyBMan Ultima required the Ultima Weapon to stand still and charge it up for a decent amount of time, required a one off artefact that probably isn't easy to replicate, and had some pretty hefty downtime between uses.
Even if Optimised Ultima isn't as powerful, making it faster, replicable, and easier to use is worth the trade-off in the long run.
@@TonyBMan probably making it less destructive overall and make it more controlled. I imagine they can modify spells, since they can even make new ones.

I want to say ffxiv is in its golden age but that wouldnt be in line with the theme of shb so imma say its in the dark age
I'll put money down the next expansion will have some killer music. At the rate their going it's really hard to have one fav with the entire FFXIV OST
@@kentanakamura89 unless it's from the base expansion picks, where the overuse of the 3-4 new motifs get a variation for every style of music to bump the ost count to 25+.
Then I have favourites, because after picking a fav the other tracks just become lesser covers to an extent. (E.g. "Solid" is my fav HW motif track, making other versions meh.
Honestly that’s why everyone was afraid ff14 was going to be replaced by ff16 until it was announced that ff16 isn’t an mmo, ff14 is just hitting its stride and in terms of the quality of its content, player numbers and just amazing atmosphere I would say it’s on par with the greats of the MMO industry, if not the best MMO in existence rn

Was just doing a Praetorium run, and this started to play on my playlist during the Ultima Weapon cutscene. Then the "Ultima!" lyric timed perfectly with the Ultima cast, the start of the battle, and then song ended along with the fight. I'm never going to have a better moment in Praetorium.

Honestly, listening to this one again, and boy I sure do wish this is the version that had been made for Dissidia rather than the version we got. Dissidia NT's is pretty alright, but this still has the flair of the original Weapon theme while still having that specific aggressive tone that Dissidia's tracks has. Still, more cake is more cake, I'm glad to have more variations of the Weapon theme in general.
Imagine, if you would, a wandering minstrel spinning a tall tale of Eikon eating weaponry. That as they all lie beaten and battered, they yet again power up, stunning the warriors true in the process, only to reveal that they have a fourth piece of Combat Data.

As horrifying as that would be, it would only (possibly) be the combat data up until we fought Aulus Mal Asina (whom they should've kept alive for this storyline, since he is literally XIV-Hojo.) which is quite powerful, but perhaps not enough to actually threaten us as a whole since it would only be as powerful as Zenos was in Ala Mhigo.
A healthy speed bump, nothing more.

@@yolteotlixtli1557 true but garlemald is the super industrialized nation that utilizes ceruleum to power itself which is pretty much midgar using mako energy. Also possible it could be part of the next normal raid expansion like someone mentioned but I think ff7 bosses/content wouldn't be tacked on as part of an expansion to a raid already somewhat established I believe the will make it frontline content for an expansion

I’d say if you didn’t think last raid tier had very challenging fights, then come back for this patch. Both the trial and normal raids alone provide a good challenge for anyone that thought the game was two easy last patch.

For a long time, I forgot Sapphire Weapon even existed. I guess that's because his head got blown off by the Junon Cannon and you never had to fight him. Good for the XIV team; except for the fact that we know it has a huge mouth-laser, they have all the freedom they want. Emerald Weapon, on the other hand.. if that isn't an underwater fight, I'm sure many will be sorely disappointed.

@@alvatoredimarco The most interesting one to fight if added to FFXIV would be Diamond Weapon in my opinion, since the FFVII version was practically invincible, and could make for some interesting mechanics.

Very late to the party, but the part where the Choir goes: "Darkness come, rend the shield of light. Destruction, Salvation, Ultima" literally makes me want to become part of a dangerous cult that worships destruction as a mean to an end and just wants to watch the world burn in glorious bliss.
