Absolutely.. Very sensible and factual, yet sensitive commentary in difficult circumstances. The genuine concern for the driver is palpable without being melodramatic. John Hindaugh is a class act. I wish he had a higher profile as a motorsport commentator.
This time the concret wall was protected with safer barries, they install this after Webbers crash in F1. So his first crash made his second on the same corner safer.

It's only on the rare occassions it goes wrong in a BIG way like this that you truely see just how much kinetic energy is going on in these amazing cars.
Such an emotional moment of Porsche Team. It showed how a lot of people concerned and cared about him. Mark said that he couldn't remember clearly why it happened when Timo asked him.
those are hard hits but these cars shred themselves apart on impact and that's what you want when you're the driver. because it dissipates the energy. this was undoubtedly a massive crash though
It's not concrete barrier. It's SAFER barrier. The same they use in IndyCar and NASCAR oval tracks. Works better than tire barriers in those kind of corners
It is upgraded. It's a safer barrier. It was introduced in NASCAR and is mandatory on oval circuits for NASCAR and Indycar. They're very good at dissipating energy and is safer than tyre barriers.
With how powerful and fast today's LMP1 cars are compared to their Group C counterparts in the 80's. It's great to see both drivers walked away from this crash to race another day.

Mark Webber hit Matteo Cressoni, as a suspension of the Porsche collapsed... so please, collect all the informations before writing sentences!
alex LAMBLEY Actually funnily enough it's not. The Mark Webber in this video is actually the cousin of the Mark Webber who used to race in F1. They have the same name, but it's just a crazy coincidence. The Formula One Webber has all but disappeared off the face of the earth, although I did see an interview on TV with him recently, and he's doing well, and is about to release his biography, so that'll be an interesting read I'm sure. I'm interested to see what he's been up to in his time away from Motorsports.
The same kind of things you see in F1? When has anybody been pushed into a wall like that? He makes it sound like normal procedure but I am struggling to think of one example. Glad Webbo is okay though.
Actually I think that is the same spot where Mark Webber crashed in 2003.. and then alonso hit one of his tyres left on the track and slammed into the wall bringing out the red flag watch?v=-iikUvXPKjE
Yup! Davidson and Rockenfeller got away with their lives after a ferrari hit them. Not sure about webber though. He seem to have lost control and just collected the ferrari with him.
xevious2501 Interesting. I've thought the same thing since quite some years. I remember GT Ferraris taking out several LMP1s in Le Mans almost every year. Could it be that the very rich, talentless, useless AM-drivers always use Ferraris? Because if they brag in front of their rich, talentless friends any other brand just isn't prestigeous enough? I hope I'm wrong...
How is the visibility from within the Ferrari?? .. Being that they have been involved in crashes that looked as if the drivers in the Ferrari's didn't see the other cars they hit.. Could that be the main factor in those crashes?? (Including this one)
+Jimmy the Saint I wouldn't say so. I've read people saying the 458's blind spot is hard to see and that it's a dangerous car but I don't know to be honest, people love 458, hell, it has won LM24H twice too.
I don't understand the hate against the Ferrari, normally the car which is overtaking is at fault. Rules in racing apply as on road and if people watch the full races in WEC they often say that the slower category car is mostly right, this is a multiple category race if someone doesn't know. I'm guessing that the people hating don't even have a driving licence.
It is Webber's fault or his opponent's fault ? Btw Webber already had a similar crash at this section of the track in 2003 when he was running for Jaguar, in F1.
GrumpierLion221 Hartley is deeply thinking to what kind of racing series he should move to after watching that horrifying crash. Four years later, he gets one big crap accident at Silverstone.
Mark Webber has survived so many crashes that if he were in the red Carrera GT or the Vampire Dragster he’d walk out completely unscathed.
The one in Valencia was a big ASS crash

The best safety innovations in racing most likely kept Mark on this planet of ours. I love him as a driver, but damn he gets into big ass crashes.
Hahaha .. his crash always huge 🤣
and they're usually not his fault. I can't think of a major crash that was either solely or mostly his fault.

And they are almost never his fault either
