All these years i have been watching Le Mans on tv’ my favourite car Is still the Silkcut Jaguar blasting down the chicane-free mulsanne..-That v12 sounds so good and the design ☺️😍😍
У меня тоже ягуар. Хотя мне все машины группы Ц нравятся.
Sorry but Porsche 962 for me. Followed by the older 917's and 935's.
TWR V12 Jaguar is still my favorite.
One of my favorite cars in Gran Turismo.
30 years later, everything about safety is so different
They will be saying the same thing in 30 years from now.
30 years before then was even wilder
@@5buddyro right!! They used to stand right next to the track with these cars flying by at about 240mph+ 🤯🤯🤯
I recall watching a video in car in a Ford GT going past Terte Route and there being a single hay bale in front of each tree at the start of the Mulsanne.
Different risks back then. Marshalls were more concerned about fire than they were about spinal injuries.
One damn dangerous race.
🇧🇷 muito bom 👍 época boa 💁🏻♀️👍
If memory serves me correctly, Gianfranco Brancatelli was kicked out by his employer (Nissan) after this blowout against Aguri Suzuki (Toyota).
no wonder, this was the best ever shot nissan got at winning le mans and he blew the chances of the leading car by what seems to be a very avoidable accident
ESTA VIVO!!!!
Y ESPERO QUE AUN LO ESTE 😇

Broken bones?... Any injury? Sorry my bad English...
1:00 That first rescuer with the fire extinguisher took WAY too long to get the extinguisher to start spraying.
Yeah, he took his time... I thought he was waiting for an explosion to happen or something, lol.
He is waiting for the driver to unstrap himself so the driver wont suffocate from the rushing Carbon Dioxide coming from that Extinguisher. The one helping the driver told him to wait. And then after the strap is off, he start spraying. Also the fire is too small to have explosions or to make some big fireball.
He went to the Basil Fawlty school of fire extinguisher department, oyment.
When racing was genuinely dangerous.

@@nickbentley8760 Isn't it just.
Why would they pull him out of car like that?

les circonstances du crash, c'est en option ?
What an awful way to get him out of the car
Thibaut Gorissen In those days people feared fire. Had to get drivers out fast.
Have you ever drive this typ of cars ? It's difficult to go in when you're ok, go out after an accident like that, it's difficult, those cars were not design for that, the new one are a few better now....but it's always dangerous.
You also saw the driver gesture.. keep going wehn he was still slung over the back and the guy carrying him paused for the fence.. "No keep going, I want to be on the other side." When they put him on the ground, looked like one of his legs wasn't right. so they were fireman lifting him as best they could.. not surprising if they knew the cars were still racing even under yellows.
@@kanraku6129 No they didnt lol. In the 1960s maybe yeah but 1990 cars were definetly better with fire because of newer materials. Obviously no one wants fire but all drivers had fireproof overalls

Didn't fancy showing the actual crash, no?
Maybe they didn't capture it. 1990 was not snowflake era like it is now when they wont show the replay or the wreck, until it sure that driver is ok and out.
urmo345 well they showed Simonsen’s crash in 2013 and he passed away
1. actual crash was not shown, more likely immediate aftermath, they were not aware how hard it actually was 2. he was reported conscious after the crash, he died later because of brain hemorrhage and 3. it was 2013. The snowflake "try not to offend anyone" was not its highest yet
urmo345 so we’ve become a snowflake generation as of 2013? That seems a bit quick. Are you trying to suggest that live tv has changed? If they were so worried about the outcome of the crash why would they bother showing the wrecked car if, as you suggest, they’re not showing the actual crash because of “snowflakes”? In 2016 they showed Alonso’s horrific crash in Melbourne, in Indycar they showed Owen Wilson’s fatal knock to the head, in f1 they showed Massa’s spring to the head even though he was unconscious and en route to hospital, they showed Webber’s f1 flip, and all of the major crashes at Le Mans in 2011, 12, 13, 15 etc have been completely live. As for the 90s, well they destroyed group C and replaced it with cars 25 seconds a lap slower, all while emasculating the Mulsanne with chicanes. And now, sports cars, Lmp1 and f1 are faster than they’ve ever been. But yeah, this is the snowflake generation lol
Bit sooner, but it really kicked in later. And yes, it is been quick. It does not involve SOME series (indycar), you are correct. Also almost everything regarding bikes (moto gp and etc) is also snowflake free. They showed Alonso crash replay was shown when he was out and fine, . They show serious crashes when it happens live on screen.. Massa crash was 2009, it was nearly decade ago...(time goes fast, dammit. It was like yesterday), i am 99% sure that f1 wont show Massa-kind of crash and aftermath like they did back then. The high point was snowflake kind reaction to Carlos Sainz crash at Sochi 2015 (which was harmless). It was so over the top ridiculous that event. They showed replay but MUCH later.
checking for JAMES WEAVER - guy was in contention in '85 w Palmer 962, I know he was again with Porsche WSC circa 95, then with closed top Audi R8 LMP in 2000 - and should have been in the Speed 8 that won.
No onbe of course was ever faster in the R&S.
WHY oh why is the man not more famous
Because he wasn’t that fast. He drove for Sauber and was never in the same category as lead driver of his time, Mike Thackwell and Jean-Louis Schlesser.
@@thethirdman225 with the Porsche WSC they were top privateer - surely the knock on James would be that he didn't bring enough cars home IE caused them to fail via his style?

Big crash??? Where???
How times have changed. No pace car. And nowadays they manage to destroy the race by letting the pace car stay out for hours. Why do we people always need to overshoot this safety stuff by Miles?
Daniel Danicon 2:03
seamon 2:34 "Still for some reason no pace car." The commentator at 2:03 was pre supposing the pace car would be coming out.
Daniel Danicon sad truth, soccer is more of a extreme sport then motorsports nowadays -.-
Because death in Motorsport all the time isn't cool you armchair racer.
I agree but safety car should've gone out. Nowadays the safety car comes out every 5 mins because the officials want to take the piss. For something like this I think its acceptable
Take the car to the junk yard & start over with a new car
