Finally someone explains how to connect the Bmw E90 fiber optic. Your video is of great help to me. That connector is the one indicated for use in a Joying 10.
Thanks I have been searching and searching step by step how video for the last a few months on how to install aftermarket head unit with fiber optic decoder on bmw e90 so you are the only first one to come across, you have made it so much easy especially with fiber optic decoder I wasn't getting any sound from the speakers, your video is so helpful and very clear understandable. Once again thanks,
DUDE!! I was ready to give up on this install with the decoder box! you saved my day! so straightforward forward and this got me to the promise land! THANK YOU!!!!
Greetings from Chile, you saved me with the optical decoder is the only thing I needed to install my radio, now just wait for the installation to arrive, thank you very much for your video
Hi there I Watch your video it was really helpful I did everything that you did in the way but I have no sound still I have a 2007 BMW 328I and I’m installing a eonon unit 8g . ?? Any Suggestions thanks
hackn3y Thank you 😊 Having logic 7 connection is awesome because you get unbelievable sound quality but it sucks because you need the adapter MOST. Have fun installing it 👍
@@GearSpec Hey, you didn't get an SOS warning light after installing this did you? I also routed my microphone up by the SOS button, and I unplugged the stock microphone, but even after reconnecting it, I still get that yellow warning.
@@GearSpec I had the battery disconnected when doing the install, but I've messed with somethings after when it may have been connected. I added a backup cam, and then unplugged that mic, maybe there's a way to reset it. Or something else just coincidentally went bad.
If i have only basic bmw e90 audio with 6 speakers do i need this fiber decoder ? If i instaled android radio without fiber dekoder the speakers under the seats did not play :/
You either have fiber optic connection or you don’t, I don’t think some speakers have fiber optic and some others don’t. The only way to find out is by pulling out the oem radio and check the type of connection.
Hey man, when you switched your climate controls to the heated seat buttons being attached to the ac controls, did you need to do anything else additional or was it plug and play?
Everything works fine now,but I connected the decoder to the adapter and the groudn cable from the unit is attached to the back of the unit, however every time i turn on the car,the clock restart from 00:00 , I'm missing something ?
No, you did everything correctly. Some android units need to be connected directly to the battery, otherwise it will reset the radio and time. By connecting directly to the battery as well you give power to the unit even when the car is not running and it will save its memory. You have to look at the diagram of the unit to see which cable needs to be connected to the battery 👍
@@GearSpec yes for the sos error i suspect that the cable connected upside down. I will do it again soon. I receive another dashcam and everything has to be opened again, so I wait with it. and secondly, the radio fm of the original system turns on every now and then. then I have to switch back to ccc and switch off is not possible, you can only choose aux.
@@erenoglu unfortunately I got nothing regarding the old fm coming back on, the only thing I can think of is that someone else has put their hands on it
@@GearSpec I succeeded I have reinserted the sos cable upside down The interference is now gone I was trying to place a Subwoofer with amplifier in my trunk, only I find out that the Android radio has no sub output, which is really disappointing now I need another one find a solution and I bought it high to low level converter and read that I can then tap the rear speaker for the amplifier I hope it works the whole interior is well apart tomorrow I will arrange that
If you want to listen to anything other than podcasts, don't use these encoder boxes! They sound terrible! They take your stock Logic 7/HK system and make it much worse. You loose your ability to fade front and back, and most importantly every single speaker now gets the same signal - no more tweeter sounds just to tweeters, sub woofer just to subwoofer (underseats) - The midrange speakers in the doors will start to distort/clip with the extra low bass signal they get - (which will destroy them eventually). Your stock head unit actually addresses the signal front, rear, subwoofer, midrange, tweeter - so the amp knows where to send the frequencies to the best speakers that can reproduce them. I installed it and had these issues - it even moved the soundstage to the rear speakers for some reason. I reinstalled the stock system and it sounded much much better. Alternative - so you want an android screen head unit? - Go for one that output sound to your factory aux port - using the stock head unit to encode the audio to your amp. Like the 10.25" dashtop units out there. Also you could just dig deep and instead of buying the encoder - replace the factory amp with a full after market amp. Encoder + Factory Logic7/HK amp = no bueno!
Even though I did it myself I totally agree with you. It is true, by doing this upgrade you downgrade a lot of other stuff on the sound system that you have explained very well.
Does ur gong or chimes sound works?

Keep it up the good work. The decoder power all the speakers front and rear? Thanks
Yes it does power both front and rear speakers. And thank you!
Where do you hook up the left front and right front RCA cables to in the car and the other wires?

Hello! The sound quality ite the same as original?

I am sorry I didn’t answer your question. I hope you have it figured out by now. No I didn’t have to do anything else, was just plug and play.
@@GearSpec That was a year ago man i've sold the car since haha, it was also plug and play for me.
I bought a used e90 with a similar head unit. Sound only from front speakers. What could be wrong?
If I dont have the decoder most likely i won't have any audio right? Because it's happening to me
That’s correct 👍
