I’m having trouble with my oem head unit. Im probably going to install an Eonon GA8165a in my 2006 325i as per your recommendation. My problem is I had a hip replacement recently and I can’t sit or maneuver well yet. Although your vid is very thorough I may need help. I have a feeling you and I aren’t very far apart. Would you, in the event we are geographically close to each other, consider installing it for me? I would of course pay you for your expertise. How would we exchange info and keep any crazies from zeroing in on us? Is there a pm system on UA-cam? Thanks, Kevin.

With you had a video on how you moved the heat seated buttons
its the same process as moving the climate controls. you just have to take off the trim on the center console to get to the screws by the ashtray

Nice job and thanks for sharing. Just got the unit and will DIY this weekend thanks to you. One question. How come it seems like the air unit control is sticking out so much (hovering above the heated seat control)? Compared to the stock. Is that normal?
I just didn't trim the air unit control enough so it was sticking out a little...but with a little trimming it fits!

what happens to the use of the original CCC display at the top of the dash? Cant see if it was operational after the installation?
Does it appear that there is no more sound from the PDCs and the radio sometimes resets everything to factory ?

Great video. Dumb question, how does the metal bracket for the climate control attach to the radio? Mine goes into poaition, however, there is nothing to secure it to the radio
My metal bracket rests on the area above the ashtray.
Please invest in lights or film during the day!

MrChayanne93 That's why I plugged in the two red and white auxiliary cables! it allows you to use the stock aux!

Those should be connected to begin with - through the main harness

The wire under the seat that goes to nowhere is actually used to keep the battery charged during shipping of the vehicle! Interesting, right?

I installed a newer version of this unit in my 328xi 07' and my AC isn't functioning properly. the blower sounds like it is working but no air is coming out my vents. anyone have similar issues??
What a great job on the video !! I noticed your stock radio has the M.O.S.T. wiring in the factory harness as does mine. Are you getting error codes of any type or did you do something to bypass it or turn it off somehow to avoid problems ? I'm installing an Eonon GA8165A unit. Again...AWESOME video !!
I have not had any error codes... which ones are you encountering?
As a matter of fact I pulled out my head unit today to see if I received any errors. I drove around for a while and none have appeared. Also the stock poweramp isn't in the MOST chain so I wont have to worry about it. I'm thinking the only head units requiring being installed for car software upgrades or troubleshooting are the IDrive and Logic7 units since you can program functions from them. I will keep my stock radio in any case. The SOS function has previously been turned off I'm assuming and my radio has no bluetooth functions. It's looking good right now. I'm not looking to blow the doors off but I think I will upgrade speakers and poweramp. I'm open to suggestions on both. Just don't have a lot of money to throw at it.

Use a plastic pry tool and insert it just in front of each light
redsfan54321 drop the headlining down by removing the sun visor. You can access the retaining clips from above then.

You know if you dont have the phone module on a 2005 e90 do you need to purchase a mic or do they all come with them as standard ? I have all the bottons for the phone functionality but I dont have the phone option in my BMW head unit... I assume this will be a problem. I've just ordered one of these units but the full touch screen one. Im hoping to get a mic with it...
The system you linked in the description looks different from yours is it the same installation?
Silly question, but why didn't you use the same route for the microphone and GPS antenna and take them both up the same A pillar?

I had a wire break, but other than that I haven't had any issues! A capacitor or fuse is a good idea

Unfortunately you cannot add it to an iDrive equipped vehicle.
could you measure the side of the unit for me? From the top corner to the bottom corner of the heater panel. Thinking about getting one of these but i want to modify the dash so the bottom corner doesn't stick out. I need to know how much it taller this whole unit is compared to stock
It won't stick out if you file down the dash

Does the voice command button still work on steering wheel? I always use it to call people and would not replace with this if it does not work.
I don't have a functional voice command button.
Does it support subwoofers? Does it have a bass boost option or decent equilizer? Also how's the sound quality? It sounded pretty bad from the video
Yes and yes. I think the sound quality is a slight improvement over the stock radio.
My bmw already has a mic. Would I still need to install the new mic or could I just use the oem one?

Can you please help me.
I fitted my new Eonon system a while back to my BMW E90 (2008 model), and everything works great on it, except my Air Conditioning is not working correctly, for example, the air is very weak coming out of the front vents, and when the AC temperature is turned down to its lowest setting and the pressure is turned up, the weak air is hot.
The car does not need recharged with gas, and BMW has informed me that it may be the Eonon unit (or unit settings) which are affecting the AC and climate control. The original Climate Control panel is connected to the Eonon unit, and the heated-seat buttons etc work fine, including via the unit, but the Air Con is not working correctly.
Can you please provide any advice, or links to photos or videos on this.

I also get this problem, hopping someone has the solution for that.
The whole problem with it being that low in the center stack as opposed to the standard location is it virtually unusable while driving as the eye deflection angle is too great.

I have a similar head unit I purchase same install . How did you pick up your factory amplifier , my 2008 328i has a factory amplifier with fiber optics.
Unfortunately you cannot use it with fiber optics.

I have 2 questions. How did you get the BMW symbol to display. You said you didn't do the USB because your going to Bluetooth can you still use the original USB in the Console to charge your phone

Hey, I installed eonon and run in to trouble with seat heaters, from where did you put the seat heaters cable to the back of climate control? I cant find a space to put it trough, found one way but thats too long, the cable should be longer.
