I think it's a great way for a large family to be able to go on holiday without it costing an arm and a leg! Love the ingenuity shown and I'm sure the kids will enjoy the adventures :)
At first i thought this was gonna be a very tight fit for the kids while the parents got a big sleeping space... But i have to say im quite suprised of how you guys have sought everything out very nicely, its a practical build with spacious sleeping space❤❤
Did a good job. But I couldn’t be in there with more than one other person. And then not for long. I bet you have had many good times as a family. That’s awesome
I’m the same! I’m planning a van build for myself and my dog and I have friends saying “what if I want to come see you on your travels?” - I’m like… errr get a hotel close by?? 🤣🤣 I only want a bed, a shower, large fridge freezer, toilet, kitchen/possibly small sitting area and solar and to be able to drive round Europe with my dog! Just need to find a van and a van conversion/builder - cause I can’t knock a nail in! 🤣😖🤪
Well done on a fabulous build. As a mum of 5 I know how tricky it is (was) to make sure everyone has what's needed to travel - no you don't need 5 jumpers 😂. So much organisation and tetris moves but when I look back now after 15 years, these were the best times.❤. Enjoy your travels, more importantly, enjoy making memories. ❤❤
I am seriously impressed with the layout and how well thought everything is, from the extra leg room for your son, to the bed divider, to your large bed that doubles as a lounge area for the whole family! How amazing that you are able to take family adventures and everyone has a safe place to sit while traveling, and a comfy bed at night.....and there's even a bathroom! Well done!
Wonderful! I was 1 of 5 children 50 yrs ago & this would have been a vacation we could have never afforded! What great parents!Love the extra room for your son’s feet🙏🙏🙏Blessing’s
I know that this family is good, but just keep in mind, lots of other families who live in a van have very depressed and upset children because of it, and that those families should never force their children into living a life they find uncomfortable :)
It’s still not enough privacy in my opinion I’ve had to share room with my brother whilst he was going through puberty and a block of wood is definitely not enough
Wow, when I was a kid this would have totally been a dream come true for holidays! Absolutely fantastic van and such a creative use of space. The only thing that I'd want to change especially as a teen/adult is that if there was any way at all to have made a pocket-door for the loo rather than just a curtain that would be amazing. But I totally appreciate that a) it probably wasn't doable, and b) the extent to which that kind of privacy is important varies enormously from one family to the next. Absolutely incredible van, love it! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Some great idea's in your build, In the 70's six of us used to cram in a JU250 converted Van with pop top, fanstatic holidays that you never forget. I don't think many people commenting on here understand the concept of being a part of a large family!
In the mid 70's, my father bought a Dodge maxivan. He took out the rear bench seat but left the bench seat behind the driver's seat. In the back he put a double tiered cot. He slept on the top and my brother got the bottom and my brother and I took turns each night blowing up the air mattress for my Mom which was on the floor next to the cot. I slept on the bench seat and our dog had the front passenger seat. My father had been a master welder and made a carrier for on the roof. He also made a shelving between the bench seat and the cot. One shelf held the Coleman stove and coffee pot. Another pots and pans. Another held dishes and one more for can goods. We had two coolers. A metal Coleman cooler that my mom used the stove on while dad drove which was next to the shelving. And the other was between the driver's seat and where I sat. There were side doors behind the passenger seat and of course the back doors . My mom made curtains for all the windows and custom fitted seat covers. And we would travel all through the western states every summer although we spent a great deal of time in western Montana. Those are some of my most cherished memories.
This is so awesome!! Shelter, food and a family who can be together is everything!! And you all get to travel daily ~ the memories made would be hilarious and everything in between!! Well done and an awesome set up!! 👍
@BudgetTravelFamily I have seen some nice ones they have cots that you set up and break down that fit in a little bag also blow up beds to couches they every thing for camping some pretty cool stuff

People thinking this is ridiculous but I can tell you my husband was 1 of 10 kids, they were raised in a 2 room cabin. 3 and 4 to a regular size bed. They lived that way 24/7 until kids gradually left home. My husband was 17 before he had a room of his own. I think this is great. Families were closer back then.

I would need to see this with all 7 people inside it to really see how it works. Those 4 seats look less comfortable than in an airplane. Where does everyone sit (presumably) to have meals? Or is this only used in good weather so you're outside? That top sleeping area for the littles is positively claustrophobia inducing. I live in a conversion van with 2 cats and people wonder at that. 😳😂
