Thank my brother! We came back from vacation and I left some blueberries in the fridge that I thought were going to go bad, but they were totally fine.
Organic fruit lasts longer, is brighter, more flavorful. Yes i still rinse it, to remove dirt, etc from the packing and shipping process, but its so much tastier . I also dry it flat on paper towels. Putting it in fridge with any moisture will cause pre rotting. Love natures candy!💚
This makes grabbing the fruit for smoothies so much easier and more likely to do that rather that an unhealthy "snack/meal"... Thanks for sharing this tip! 🥰😎
perfect season for this great tip, Chef Ange! My sister believes Driscoll's fruit is pre-rinsed - and there may be some rinsing that goes on as part of the packaging process, but you've just shown us it's not adequate on it's own. Can't wait to send her this video with a big, brotherly #ToldYaSo!
They might rinse them a little but I wouldn’t say they are clean! Once you see the dirty water, you’ll never want to eat fruit without running it through a thorough wash like this.
My kids love berries! They eat them so fast but still better to give them fruit that’s clean! They eat up all the strawberries literally as I’m cutting them ❤
For clarification since I’m a bit confused. 1) How long do you let the fruit sit in the colander? Is the fruit totally dry? 2) Do you change the paper towels a few days later or are the original pieces good until the fruit is consumed? Thank you!😊
10-15 min. Not much longer than that. It’s mostly dry once it drains. That’s what the paper towel is for. Usually don’t need to change it if the fruit was decently dried before going in.
I tried in container and out of container and more comes off out of the container... and you took them outta the container anyway...and found drying on the counter flat until completely dry works best...but love the tips
Mixing vinegar and baking soda into a solution doesn’t do anything. You’re actually removing the cleaning properties of both the baking soda and vinegar
@@ChefAnge 😁try using either baking soda or vinegar next time and I suspect it will work even better. For the readers, mixing the two together neutralizes the properties of both, which is why you see it bubble. The chemical reaction leaves you with carbon dioxide and ...water. so you're cleaning with water effectively.
these guy say true... i ask chat gpt and .. use baking soda help with pesticide ... vinegar help anti micro biotic ... but the 2 at the same time its cancel ... you can use one or other orrrrr one after other but at the same time like in the video they say you rinse it with water ... good to know ... realllyyyyyyyyyyyyy goood comment
@@ChefAnge It's pretty simple and you should do it before a video like that, gather your informations from scientifically and medically accurate sources. Like health.gov or pubmed just to mention a couple :) by gathering information I'm safe to say that I know you are doing misinformation
The whole point is baking soda is alkaline and vinegar is acidic I have no clue why someone would add them together. Do them separately. The high alkaline is what breaks down and rinses away pesticides…
I feel like I needed to know if you put paper towels on top also and do you put cover on the bowels. It's like you did not complete telling us the rest of process.😢
This is bad chemistry. Acid and a base. Each renders the other… useless as a cleaning solvent. Looks good but thoroughly useless method and really bad advice if you in fact intend to clean the food you consume.
Dude, I have to hand it to you! My method was only water. They actually look and taste better! Thanks again bro.

Yup! Although it makes the fruit last longer, the accessibility makes us eat it 2x faster!

How come your blueberries float and mine sunk?! Now, I need to try different fruits to see if they sink or float😅
Chef Ange is totally carying us with these guides
Just sharing what I find helpful for myself! Thanks so much! 😊🙏
I love this! Thank you so much! I do this every time now.

💯💯💯
Thank you for this!! We need it!
You're so welcome!
Berries are so very healthy! TY🌹
The healthiest! 😁❤️
I’ll definitely try this. Thanks !
Hope you like the process as much as I do!
Great information. Do you store them covered?
Yes with the snap top lids for those containers
Where did you buy those glass containers? Can you store them in plastic containers?
I try and avoid plastic when I can. Best place to buy them is discount department stores like TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, Marshals, etc…
@@ChefAngethanks I just only have plastic at home now and had fruits I wanted to clean so until I can get the glass I will use the plastic.
is necessary to use vinegar? because I saw some people just used baking soda and that's it. Great video
I just filmed a new one coming out soon. I still use both baking soda and vinegar but a little different method than this.
What about vegetables? Lettuce, jalapeños, bell peppers, etc…? What about carrots and mushrooms? Herbs? I’d be interested to see what you recommend.
Same

I’m gonna implement this. Thanks so much.
Glad it was helpful!
Are you using filtered water or tap water?
Our entire house is filtered water.
Are the berries still damp when they go in the containers please?
No I drain them and let them air dry before closing the lids and in the fridge.
@@ChefAnge Do you air dry them on paper towel? Thank you.

Great tip!
Can you do this with vegetables as well?
Yes. It’s how I was all fruits and vegetables
Will the vinegar change the taste ?
Not at all. It rinses off cleaner than any other soap.
Removes bugs also
Yup! 🐜
I soak mine in baking soda and delivered salt in my crockpot and rinse.
Baking soda helps a lot to breakdown the chemicals on the outside.

Tops on. No paper towel on the top. Just the bottom.
Is it bad I haven’t been doing this? Ughh
No, just start now. You can’t know before you know.
The container seems even more germy 😳
🦠🦠🦠🙈🙊
You must have a hospital sterilized kitchen. 🙄
Baking soda and vinegar cancels each other out that is the fizzing that you are seeing.
Stay tuned for my next video 😜
Why wouldn’t you do baking soda then vinegar seperate? The whole point is baking soda is alkaline vinegar is acidic.
Idk. I should try it that way
baking soda and vinegar make PH neutral fluid my guy
you're negating the action of both of the substances by mixing them

Yup! Thank you! 👍🙏
The way you plumbed your faucet is driving me nuts 😂 sorry, just the plumber talking.
It’s a studio kitchen in my unfinished basement and I did it myself. Best I could do it. Seems to work!

Seems cleaner but I’m learning more about how to go about using these. Appreciate the feedback!
I can buy fresh every day at Costco. There is no need to keep for weeks.

Who goes to Costco EVERYDAY ?!?! Get real
I live next door to Costco.
