      @@CleanThatUp Hey Brandon, I messaged you several times. I don't want to repeat the whole story yet again. I need your help please. I'm using for the first time Zep Grout Cleaner & Brightener. It DOESN'T WORK! I've had to keep going over the grout over and over almost everyday! There's the RARE chance it'll finally white a small line, but the end are dark and uneven. I can't do this anymore! I've tried everything else. I've followed directions & do everything a bit different each time. Even got an electric brush. I might buy a steamer once I finish the bottle of Zep. But not too sure what to look for in a grout steamer. Any advice on the Zep & steamer please?

    I knew the “soaking in vinegar for hours” trick for sprayers. But CLR for 2-3 mins? Yes, thank you!
    Btw, ty for showing how you rinse shower walls when the shower arm/head are stationary. I bought a square bowl from Dollar Tree, and use that to rinse the walls. I used to splash, rather than pour on the rinse water. Your method is much better.

I can't even stand having the plunger in a bag to conceal it next to the toilet - I can't even use a plunger to unclog the toilet because it's SO disgusting! 🤢 & I'm trying to find a way to never "go potty" ever again! I used to clean 5 star accommodation - and broke records within the company for number of clients who requested they only send me back. Two cloth system is a must. For anything except floors, pure white vinegar in a spray bottle. Glass, stone, timber tops. Two clothes, as well as paper towels (or s roll of good quality toilet paper) for specifically dirty spots.
    To polish stainless steel - a few drops of baby oil on a clean dry cloth.
    No need for gloves, expensive cleaning products or fumes.
    Maintaining separation between the clean and soiled areas (and cloths) is the key. And not 🚫 over doing it with any liquids!
    If yiu are getting streaking, too much moisture (including the oil).

I am open minded still learning . I love cleaning, it has always been a labour of love. I believe in using products that will practically do the job for you, when you are working for others you have got to get it done right as quickly as possible do a good job. Try using iron out in your toilet tank , bowl leave the water in cleans like a new toilet does the job itself. I just add the iron out a bit of dish detergent let it set over night is the easiest way or when you are leaving for work to give it time to set, especially if it is quite soiled it does an excellent job. Here's another source of phantom smells, often overlooked. Detritus builds up inside the inlet pipe that connects the dishwasher to the food disposal. I find the opening under the gasket at the mouth of the disposal and using a narrow bottle brush, I scrub it before running a dishwashing cycle. As the dishwasher drains, all the loose stuff flushes out and it's clean again.

  • @raygranvold5646
    @raygranvold5646 6 місяців тому +12

    Perhaps this works for medium stains and generally dirty sink. My sink had deep dark stains (looked like dried oil) compounded by hard water stains (Texas). I ended up sanding the sink with 400 grit sandpaper (I wet sanded it). Worked perfectly. I will polish with automobile rubbing compound and polish for brilliant shine. This saved me from buying a new sink. You might try this. Note sandpaper can cause scratch marks on your sink. If so you might need to sand with finer grades wet sandpaper (say 400, 600. 800, 1000, then 2000 grit to get scratch marks off) and then polish. No guarantees here, just a suggestion. You can try on a small hidden section first to check. YMMV.

    Barkeepers Friend may very well be the best cleaner on the market. When we purchased our home last year, it was going to be a few months before gutting the kitchen. I used that stuff on the existing counters, sink, appliances, they all sparkled and looked like they probably did in 1998 when they were installed. The cleaning lady must have stock in the company, because she uses it on everything! I will say, the Pink Stuff gives it a run for its money though!

    Love ya. Two things: Anyone who lets a sink get that dirty isn't interested in cleaning tips. Secondly, Is it actually harmful to the finish to leave Barkeepers Friend on a long time or just unsightly?

    • @flagmichael
      @flagmichael Місяць тому

      I would not recommend leaving any cleanser in place for long. Cleansers are usually either alkaline (like Soft Scrub) or acidic (like Barkeepers Friend). Either can discolor some surfaces if left there indefinitely.

      They’re great in newer homes, but not so good in older homes. The old Plumbing wasn’t really made for garbage disposals.

    • @AlphaGeekgirl
      @AlphaGeekgirl 4 місяці тому +1

      We do have them in Australia. At least in Sydney I know that Meriton has installed them in every apartment for the last 40 years. The brand is Inskinerator. I had one in my apartment in 1985, but they were around at least five years before that. Every rental property I’ve ever seen has had one. Tenants put all sorts of crap down them like wooden chopsticks, or boiled rice (which sets like cement and blocks the pipes). They are a nasty breeding ground and often landlords totally remove them because of the problems they cause and the high cost of maintaining constantly replacing them every time a tenant moves out.

    Degrease with vinegar. Use strainers to prevent solids from clogging drains. Use regular soap and bleach mixture to clean stainless steel. Rinse. Avoid earth killing chemicals and spend less. The toothbrush is a good idea.

    Bonus tip: scrub with white flour and dry sponge before buffing. This will smoothen out a lot of the small scratches, so it will shine even more after buffing.

    What’s the difference between barkeepers Friend and comet or soft scrub?

    • @flagmichael
      @flagmichael Місяць тому

      Chemistry! Comet and Soft Scrub are alkaline - great for breaking down oxidized oils on the surface. Barkeepers Friend is acidic - It is effective against hard water deposits (not too built-up), marks left behind by bumping aluminum into the surface or left behind by heat transfer onto ceramic cooktops.
