Purple label is the most expensive, I used to sell Ralph Lauren for a living, black label came out after purple label.
Once upon a time I got a degree in IT, and I think it'll come in handy now to help with your searches. I tried and it seemed to work. If you are trying to just find purple label, put those two words in one set of quotation marks in your search. Don't let eBay autofill the search for you. Example: Ralph Lauren "purple label" black only returned items that had a purple label and black as a listed color.

Very informative video; but Purple Label is the highest, Black is 2nd, Polo by Ralph Lauren is the most popular and common by far and is often not referred to by label color.
Another great video from Suzanne. This was an eye opener for me. I never realized the number of tags that a clothing designer might have. I have to really study this video, and have the list with me when I go sourcing. Like tomorrow. First thing in the morning. My brain is bursting with information, and much of it from Suzanne. I stopped your video immediately on hearing your words that this brand is NOT Ralph Lauren and went and changed the wording in my listing. What great timing! I think their purple label is highest with black label being very close or some pieces even being a bit higher

One thing that helps when searching for labels on eBay, put the label in quotations i.e. “blue label” not blue label
Thanks for all your work on this. If it helps you can use quotes to search on specific word groups. Such as “black label” would not return items where black was not immediately followed by [space] label, but was merely a color descriptor somewhere in the description.

Thanks for the video Suzanne! Great info for sure. One thing that I wanted to let you know is that Chaps Ralph Lauren is actually a vintage label but Chaps only is the one still sold in stores. If you see the Chaps and Ralph Lauren together than it can be worth getting but it definitely depends on the style. This is something that millennials look for. The 90s look so it can be from $25-$50 depending. Just wanted to share :) thanks!

Very informative...one correction: Purple Label is the highest and most expensive of their lines with all pieces made in Italy.
Although many of their Purple Label suits and jackets used to be made in England - many feel these are higher quality than the Italian made ones since.
Green Lauren Ralph Lauren is also on linens. I do well finding them in linen bin for a $1
Great information as always and thanks. Definitely check out Ralph Lauren double RRL. It's a great BOLO for example last spring I bought a jean jacket at GW for $6.00 and ending up taking a best offer of $150.00. Dress shirts usually go for anywhere from $40 to $80 so if you find them grab them.

im not sure if you deal with Brooks Brothers but a guide with brooks brothers labels would be nice too. They have quite a few labels as well.

Suzanne, You're correct- the blue "Polo Ralph Lauren" is an early/vintage label for men only, and the green "Lauren Ralph Lauren" is women's clothing and accessories only, and also home goods/linens etc

Men’s suits are also made under the LRL label. I’ve sold a few on eBay. I know they are sold at Macy’s (not sure if any other retailers). Still a nice suit, but lesser quality than Polo, purple and black label. Nice video, Suzanne!

Another great video.....thanks for all of your hard work and time spent conducting your research. It certainly helped me differentiate between the different labels and I’ll use this info the next time I go sourcing. We see a lot of Ralph Lauren in my area stores. My husband suggested searching eBay with quotation marks (I.e. Ralph Lauren “black label” , Ralph Lauren “blue label” , etc.) for a more accurate search result.

Fabulous! Such a huge help, especially since RL is very available in the TS's. Now I can select them in an informed and educated manner. I understand and applaud your disclaimers, but isn't it sad you must do it? Folks often won't do their own research but are more than willing to nit pic those (like you) who do all the work. This was very helpful. A few days ago I picked up a Women's Lauren Ralph Lauren Blue Denim Jean Jacket in new condition for $1 at Goodwill and was not sure how to price it. I just found one at eBay that is the same selling for $49 plus shipping. So I know what to do now. Glad I picked it up. ;-) I had hesitated when I first saw it. LOL I mean, that $1.... you know. ;-)

In pre Covid time the polo blue label was around 130 pounds and shirts around 150 ponds,but in some sale warehouses you could bay it for 50 pounds.

The Blue Label with Gold lettering is the best of the Blue Label. The other Blue labels are lower but still good sellers.

I bought a green label Brianna comforter to match a blue label I already owned. The green label colors are off and the comforter is super hot to sleep under. I thought all Ralph Lauren would be great quality. I recommend avoiding green label bedding.

The Polo Sport is considered vintage and are valuable and sells quickly on apps like Mercari and Depop. Don’t pass it up.
Late response to this video, however, I have been searching for information on Lauren Ralph Lauren green tag with a white Made in USA label. It is a pair of 97% worsted wool, navy in color sailor pant, lined inside throughout the pant, with all buttons matching that have an anchor embedded print on them. If anyone can tell me about when these were made? These don't look like they would be sold at a Macy's and definitely not Kohl's. Thank you
Great video and resource references. I find that polo here in the UK is most commonly found when thrifting but also highly faked so i buy with extreme caution. Will certainly look out for the purple and black labels though.

Is there a reason the vintage site does not show any black label? What about vintage purple? Is that resource limited or are neither of these colors vintage? Vintage is such an ill-defined term anyway. Great video though and thanks so much!
Hi David, you would need to contact whoever put the vintage site together and ask them those questions.
Vintage is defined as anything 20 years old or older.

I have this US Navy pullover sweater so I'm going to cut the tag out but there is some left and it has buttons on it they say Ralph Lauren and it's his coat of arms and the inside collar is white can't seem to find anything about it thanks for any help if you need pictures let me know

hi, I have a label that says simply ralph lauren. it’s a blue label with silver writing. slim fit, made in macau. it’s a short sleeve 100% cotton polo. it has color blocking that makes me think it’s from the early 2000’s or late 90’s maybe. but i can’t find a tag like it anywhere? any ideas? looks similar to the other blue tag with silver writing but it’s small caps with no horse.
i’m starting to think maybe it’s fake. but if you’ve seen one like that before let me know ☺️
