@@jonnydonny9270 No. In Diablo 2 the max level is 99. It's faster to level to 99 in the expansion (LOD) than it is in the original. If you ever see a level 99 character in the original Diablo 2, they have probably been playing that character for ten years or more. I think the highest I ever saw in the original Diablo 2 was like a level 97?
IMO, no weapon is more effective than King's Axe of Haste (fastest attack). I got it once. It chopped down a large group of blood knights in seconds with zero potion used.
Love the old Arcade style of this game.I didn't play D1 much but played D2+ more than I should have.I like how they used a lot of the same Skills and Skill Pictures in Diablo 2 as they did in D1.It gave it that classic look.The attention to detail with the Items is magnificent as well.

i remember having Thinking Cap on my around-30 level mage. it was tricky with its durability but... shortly a right chapel or a cauldron hardened it enough for me to be made useful (and the best mage helmet option in my opinion).
If you use a blacksmith's oil on an item that have the maximum durability it raise the durability by one. It means you can have a Thinking Cap whit 20 durability if you have 19 blacksmith's oils ;)

You can tell you haven't done this with legit methods. Your kill count crosses over from new game. I did a wiz up to level 35 a few years ago and I had hundreds too thousands of kills on each mob type. You've got 66 when hitting lvl50 so yeah bullshit

I remember I bought King's sword of haste from the peg-legged boy for almost all the gold you could carry in your inventory. I think it was a bastard sword. Twas the best item Ive ever had on any Diablo 1 character. Unfortunately it was a multiplayer game and I died somewhere in caves surrounded by mobs I couldnt kill, so I just left without taking my stuff back :/
Man, there’s king’s sword of blood and it’s way better cos it steals 5% life with every hit you inflict to enemies. With a proper shield it makes you almost invincible against infantry monsters. Even Diablo on a hell mode becomes a miserable little boy against it. However, I prefer an archer as a character to get through

Do you go Multiplayer to make a hell game and then enter Single Player again? I tried it but once i leave Single Player mode or save it, it becomes Normal mode again T_T

I'm surprised you didn't find the grandfather sword that item is a beat if you find a shrine that eliminated durability for additional damage. I found mine at level 23. I also found a blue shield that would block damn near every attack thrown my way but the durability on it would go down so fast that it was a pain in the ass to have to return to town all the time to repair it. I got that from Wirt

with Enchanted shrine you can get max lvl spell but you should keep chain lightning to lvl 7 or 8. If higher it become buggy when casted with a lot of monster around Fascinating, ornate and sacred shrine reduce your mana permanently by 10% so avoid those and never take cauldron they do random effect and could be -10% mana the monster called Back death (flashing yellow zombie) reduce permanently your life by 1 each time he hit you avoid them

In the time if i remember, best was goldy plate of the whale, king sword of haste, obsidian ring of the zodiac, goldy sheild of the whale, can beat diablo at normal with his normal stuff but in hell diffuculty with a warrior, no way, you have to get the best, apocalypse spell too.
@@viperstar6229 Yeah but he shows the undead crown, Gotterdamerung, Arkains Valor, and Griswolds Edge those item is arguably the easiest to find since they drop by virtue of completing quests. Godly Helm of the Whale Godly Plate of the Whale Storm Shield / Godly Shield of Absorption King's Sword of Haste Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac Obsidian Ring of Harmony [Or Gold Ring of the Zodiac] Gold Amulet of the Zodiac [Or Obsidian Amulet of the Zodiac] Best gear in the game for a Warrior. It's not much different for the Rogue either except the weapon changes: Windforce / Merciless Bow of the Heavens / Strange Bow of the Heavens Sub out whichever suits your needs. The only other exception is the Sorcerer who uses: Dragon's Ring / Amulet of the Zodiac instead of "Gold" because Sorcerer needs more mana than hit % chance. Arch-Angels Staff of Apocalypse [+2 Spells] Thinking Cap [+2 Spells] Naj's Light Plate [+1 Spells] Instead of the Godly Whale stuff that the Warrior / Rogue use. In Hellfire same crap as the Warrior / Rogue for the Monk. Except a King's Staff of Haste is the best weapon for the Monk and you can oil up everything to do even more damage, have even more AC and make items indestructible, including Unique items which basically breaks the game. Just an FYI if anyone wants to use an item importer / editor.
Except Godly Plate of the Whale is not possible in D1 regularly you cheating pervert. Additionally, Godly helm of the Whale is only buyable from Wirt and is close to impossible to get, I higly doubt you ever had this item since you are bullshitting everything else on this list too. Godly shield of absorption for example is not possible without hacks. So your suggestions are just complete crap.
You can't store your items in Diablo 1 so the best thing to do is drop them on the floor somewhere in town like he did with the strength elixers. But watch out that you don't create a new game while your good items are still laying in town :D.
Humm maybe but i know in that time we use hacks for pk(playerkiller) in town, trainer for dupe. I hacked battle.net a lot when i was young maybe 20years years ago lol. Hacks put players away from this game.
+p0werc0rdz Well, in my opinion, two factors that put players away from that game was the time, that was passing, and releasing of Diablo 2. In Poland we had really strong battle.net community, which lasted longer than most other european ones.
Of course he is cheating, his character is above the level you would get had you even done the Hellfire expansion pack as well. He has a bajillion Strength Potions which cost 5k each. Are you trying to tell me that this dude didn't dupe any of those?
@@AvariceOverlord only at the end of the normal on the archer I had 150000 gold(full inventory), and at nightmare and hell it drops out much more, so there is nothing difficult in it. But I can't say about the level, I reached only 32.
Yeah I know this. I tested & it works. The disadvantage is that Diablo 1 kinda' runs slowly. When I were walking my Rogue did not really follow my mouse clicks. Not good whenever you will have to dodge enemies & going in zick-zack. I should get Windows 98 to my computer & split the harddrive in 2 systems. With some help.
troubleshoot comparability .... or right click the icon> properties> compatibility tab> run this program in compatibility mode for windows xp sp 3 and check all the settings boxes then apply :)
Wait... how did you end up with level 15 guardian (among other spells which eventually require 255 MAG)? The warrior can theoretically only end up with 225 magic (7 items * 25 magic each+ 50 base)...
I also had the color error on XP. I can't remember how I fixed it (something to do with compatibility mode or color depth I think). Diablo 1 is cool. I even managed to connect two IPX-enabled computer together for a network game. Retro shit.
You can fix this colour problem, by opening task manager, terminate explorer.exe and open diablo 1 as new task via task manager. When done playing just open explorer.exe in new task (task manager). works for most older games with colour problem

If u enter in game in local conection with ur multiplyer char, than log out and enter in single player with onether one u can play single player in hell level and lvl up very fast. But to do that u need a multiplayer char able to kill Diablo in a nightmare game.
How did you record this? I have windows xp and when I try to record gameplay of diablo 1 it always plays back black/technicolor.. I can record almost every other game I have perfectly except diablo, any suggestions? I use Hypercam 2
Not a legit item. The prefix "godly" and the suffix "of the whale" cannot both spawn together (at least on full plate mail, not sure about other armors). Look up Jarulf's Guide to Diablo and Hellfire for the technical details.
It is possible to find in Hellfire I believe. As I said, look up Jarulf's guide if you ant to know the technical details as to why the item is not possible. (This applies to godly full plate mail of the whale)
+Elchupanibres No version of Diablo or Hellfire _ever_ made "Godly Plate of the Whale" into a legit item. If you never used cheats (AKA hacks) and still ended up having it, it's because another player who hacked it into the game dropped it and you eventually picked it up. +hard dorothy That item is still not possible even in Hellfire. However, as you guessed, "Godly" and "of the Whale" can appear together, but only on incredibly weak armor, and are only obtainabled through Wirt, both in Diablo and Hellfire.

search for 'Rainbow or Washed Out Colors on Windows 7', follow the instructions. Then, on the desktop, right click and open the screen resolution window. Keeping it open, run Diablo 1. Should fix it.

Something that's not seen in the subsequent Diablo games are unique items with substantial penalties paired alongside the overpowered attributes. If i recall there were a few like "-200 mana" or the Constricting Ring which constantly sapped HP in exchange for like +100% resist all. Many items were done this way, but I can't think of any in the sequels. Aside from minor ass things like changes to Light radius or the -30% fire resist on Andariels Visage. I wonder why blizzard decided to abandon that penalty item concept so early on.
I have tested it. But Diablo ver. 1.08 seems to work slowly on windows 7. The character doesn't follow the cursor clicks well. So I just play Diablo 1 Medallion ver. 1.00. But there I can't transfer the multiplayer save-file & that sucks.
A Kings Blade? His plate is only "awesome", no other stats, the shield is meh, no pair or obs.rings of zod. etc. By the time you need to reach lvl50 you will have better stuff, unless you are really"unlucky" Maybe"crap"was too much, but his far from what you can have at that lvl.
His full plate has great stats and his rings are good. Should have haste sword knights or better and Shields OK not great. He probably didn't check Griswold religiously. Still that FPM is a rare find and the most important thing he has for AC to stand up to knights. You don't always get the perfect setup. [50 mage 46 war 41 rogue and numerous 30-40 sorcs here along with 40+ sorcs in abysmal and VKME mods] I was very impressed by his armor and rings and the rest is not perfectly ideal but more than adequate for to hit armor and health. Hell I barely scraped by with my warrior with gold heavens amulet and a similar FPM Tho not near as perfect stats, with a knights broad sword of haste, lost my kings bastard somehow. And that was cuz I acquired the stuff on my 50 spec which was a lot faster than a warrior can farm, I would have been hurting bad till level 45 without the gold heavens ammy and FPM. But I would've expected him to have awesome shield of tiger and a better sword by then. Maybe Griswold doesn't reset often in single player I dunno I did multi. You are assuming the highest is 25 any item can grant a status boost. At 30 mag x 7, it becomes totally doable.

@@viperstar6229 Yeah but he shows the undead crown, Gotterdamerung, Arkains Valor, and Griswolds Edge those item is arguably the easiest to find since they drop by virtue of completing quests. I'm just saying its surprising he didn't find it but im not gunna lie I never found Windforce in D1 so it is possible; though i never bothered to get to level 50 either.

Best gear in the game for a Warrior.
It's not much different for the Rogue either except the weapon changes:
Windforce / Merciless Bow of the Heavens / Strange Bow of the Heavens Sub out whichever suits your needs.
The only other exception is the Sorcerer who uses:
Dragon's Ring / Amulet of the Zodiac instead of "Gold" because Sorcerer needs more mana than hit % chance.
Arch-Angels Staff of Apocalypse [+2 Spells]
Thinking Cap [+2 Spells]
Naj's Light Plate [+1 Spells]
Instead of the Godly Whale stuff that the Warrior / Rogue use.
In Hellfire same crap as the Warrior / Rogue for the Monk.
Except a King's Staff of Haste is the best weapon for the Monk and you can oil up everything to do even more damage, have even more AC and make items indestructible, including Unique items which basically breaks the game.
Just an FYI if anyone wants to use an item importer / editor.
Except Godly Plate of the Whale is not possible in D1 regularly you cheating pervert.
Additionally, Godly helm of the Whale is only buyable from Wirt and is close to impossible to get, I higly doubt you ever had this item since you are bullshitting everything else on this list too. Godly shield of absorption for example is not possible without hacks.
So your suggestions are just complete crap.

You can't store your items in Diablo 1 so the best thing to do is drop them on the floor somewhere in town like he did with the strength elixers.
But watch out that you don't create a new game while your good items are still laying in town :D.

Humm maybe but i know in that time we use hacks for pk(playerkiller) in town, trainer for dupe. I hacked battle.net a lot when i was young maybe 20years years ago lol. Hacks put players away from this game.
+p0werc0rdz Well, in my opinion, two factors that put players away from that game was the time, that was passing, and releasing of Diablo 2. In Poland we had really strong battle.net community, which lasted longer than most other european ones.
Of course he is cheating, his character is above the level you would get had you even done the Hellfire expansion pack as well. He has a bajillion Strength Potions which cost 5k each. Are you trying to tell me that this dude didn't dupe any of those?
@@AvariceOverlord only at the end of the normal on the archer I had 150000 gold(full inventory), and at nightmare and hell it drops out much more, so there is nothing difficult in it. But I can't say about the level, I reached only 32.

troubleshoot comparability .... or right click the icon> properties> compatibility tab> run this program in compatibility mode for windows xp sp 3 and check all the settings boxes then apply :)
Wait... how did you end up with level 15 guardian (among other spells which eventually require 255 MAG)? The warrior can theoretically only end up with 225 magic (7 items * 25 magic each+ 50 base)...

Diablo 1 is cool. I even managed to connect two IPX-enabled computer together for a network game. Retro shit.
You can fix this colour problem, by opening task manager, terminate explorer.exe and open diablo 1 as new task via task manager. When done playing just open explorer.exe in new task (task manager). works for most older games with colour problem
Another thing. 1 problem to play Diablo 1 on Windows 7 is the colour error.

If u enter in game in local conection with ur multiplyer char, than log out and enter in single player with onether one u can play single player in hell level and lvl up very fast. But to do that u need a multiplayer char able to kill Diablo in a nightmare game.
How did you record this? I have windows xp and when I try to record gameplay of diablo 1 it always plays back black/technicolor.. I can record almost every other game I have perfectly except diablo, any suggestions? I use Hypercam 2

easiest way is to run lvl 1 to 8 hell difficulty with teleport and chain lightning until lvl 44 or around that then you run hell/hell

Not a legit item. The prefix "godly" and the suffix "of the whale" cannot both spawn together (at least on full plate mail, not sure about other armors). Look up Jarulf's Guide to Diablo and Hellfire for the technical details.

It is possible to find in Hellfire I believe. As I said, look up Jarulf's guide if you ant to know the technical details as to why the item is not possible. (This applies to godly full plate mail of the whale)
+Elchupanibres No version of Diablo or Hellfire _ever_ made "Godly Plate of the Whale" into a legit item. If you never used cheats (AKA hacks) and still ended up having it, it's because another player who hacked it into the game dropped it and you eventually picked it up.
+hard dorothy That item is still not possible even in Hellfire. However, as you guessed, "Godly" and "of the Whale" can appear together, but only on incredibly weak armor, and are only obtainabled through Wirt, both in Diablo and Hellfire.

search for 'Rainbow or Washed Out Colors on Windows 7', follow the instructions. Then, on the desktop, right click and open the screen resolution window. Keeping it open, run Diablo 1. Should fix it.

The 1.08 version doesn't work as well as 1.00 on my computer as far as I know.
Something that's not seen in the subsequent Diablo games are unique items with substantial penalties paired alongside the overpowered attributes. If i recall there were a few like "-200 mana" or the Constricting Ring which constantly sapped HP in exchange for like +100% resist all. Many items were done this way, but I can't think of any in the sequels. Aside from minor ass things like changes to Light radius or the -30% fire resist on Andariels Visage. I wonder why blizzard decided to abandon that penalty item concept so early on.

I have tested it. But Diablo ver. 1.08 seems to work slowly on windows 7.
The character doesn't follow the cursor clicks well.
So I just play Diablo 1 Medallion ver. 1.00.
But there I can't transfer the multiplayer save-file & that sucks.

A Kings Blade? His plate is only "awesome", no other stats, the shield is meh, no pair or obs.rings of zod. etc.
By the time you need to reach lvl50 you will have better stuff, unless you are really"unlucky"
Maybe"crap"was too much, but his far from what you can have at that lvl.

His full plate has great stats and his rings are good. Should have haste sword knights or better and Shields OK not great. He probably didn't check Griswold religiously. Still that FPM is a rare find and the most important thing he has for AC to stand up to knights. You don't always get the perfect setup. [50 mage 46 war 41 rogue and numerous 30-40 sorcs here along with 40+ sorcs in abysmal and VKME mods] I was very impressed by his armor and rings and the rest is not perfectly ideal but more than adequate for to hit armor and health. Hell I barely scraped by with my warrior with gold heavens amulet and a similar FPM Tho not near as perfect stats, with a knights broad sword of haste, lost my kings bastard somehow. And that was cuz I acquired the stuff on my 50 spec which was a lot faster than a warrior can farm, I would have been hurting bad till level 45 without the gold heavens ammy and FPM. But I would've expected him to have awesome shield of tiger and a better sword by then. Maybe Griswold doesn't reset often in single player I dunno I did multi.

best place is laz room all 3 bosses in that room can drop it , its fairly easy to find

Sorry, I haven't played many years on this save game. But all resistance equal 0 I think is 0 for all. I don't remember what gotterammerung do in this char.
one item drops your resis on zero and the other on max, was just curious because i found götterdämmerung by myself.
No, I'm very disappointment. They hype us "many multiple projects", and on Blizzcon - most important show for players give only mobile game? They could give us only teaser like bethesda in his The Elder Scrolls VI, but no. Diablo players are hardcore mature players. We play on PC or console. I don'w wanna back from work and sit on the phone many hours. I have 29' monitor and good PC for playing games. I think is stupid move from Blizz. On diablo YT is 300k dislike, and they delete comments. Maybe today Q&A tell us more.
