The first Donovan Woods song I heard was Next Year…right about the time I learned of my best friend’s terminal cancer diagnosis. She’s gone now and that song brings me to my knees each time.
What can one say about Donovan Woods other than pure unadulterated talent? He is, in my humble opinion, one of the most underrated artists out there. I stumbled upon him as a suggestion after listening to City and Colour, and that alone should be a mark of talent; if a man can rival Dallas Green, they've by far earned my respect. Thank you Mr. Woods for your amazing music and talent, can't wait to hear more. Cheers, From Canada.
Andrew Underwood that is the exact way I found him. Related artists to Dallas Green on Google play!😆Can't go past amazing voices playing amazing acoustic guitar. He's my greatest find in years.
Wow, this is just a choreography masterpiece. I just found Donovan my favorite way - he opened for The Gaslight Anthem. I’ll never forget, he came out, played one song, and said ‘well, that’s it, it’s just me’. He was so funny, just a lovely guy and such a talented song writer. Who knew what a talented dancer he was too!
I heard you for the first time, yesterday, on CBC2. After watching a bunch of your videos, I am officially a fan. Love your voice, your music, and your songwriting. And, hey, you guys can dance! ;)
Just listened to your new Grew Apart song (which is very good by the way) and just had to come back here to listen to this song and watch this awesome video.
I was listening to this in my store but not watching the video. When I looked up and saw "Choreographed by Patricia Allison" I thought, "What the hell?" That was definitely worth starting over, although I'm a bit sad our dancers weren't clad in unitards or footy pajamas.

Hi, I am not a native speaker, so I need some help to understand the lyrics, can someone give me an idea, about what's the song said? Or maybe your own interpretation, thanks 😀

as for what the mean.. it could be the coldest state of mind, or literally in the coldest state, Alaska. He references places in his songs a lot, so maybe. perhaps the 'coldest state' of mind, is not being in love.
Bearded men, those wool-ish socks with toes and heels, absolutely no talking and all that expressive, subtle dance move stuff - what's not to love!

I totally agree! I've seen him live and he is incredible!!!
I went to university with him and he's genuinely a great and nice human being too.
People from Arizona can’t understand. But being from Alaska I can!
This video continues to make me laugh and giggle out loud. So goofy, so well danced, so fun!
Wow, this is just a choreography masterpiece.

This takes me back. I hope you know your music reminds me of a great time in my life. Such good memories.
I feel this comment.
This routine always gets me at the end.
Mad at myself for only seeing this now, but this man never disappoints
I’m still not over this
This is the best video in the world.
Love the energy. And the socks.
Tongue out, furrowed brow ... the level of concentration on those bearded faces is breathtaking!
As is the song, of course.

I love this song, and this video. You are so talented Donovan.
Best video I've ever seen!
Why am I just discovering their music?! Reminds me a tiny little bit of the group Bootstraps (Jordan) 💙

i may have commented this before, but whatever.. I love this!
Love this song & the amazing dance moves!
Whose idea was this? This is forever, right? Brave. [good song] : )
Just listened to your new Grew Apart song (which is very good by the way) and just had to come back here to listen to this song and watch this awesome video.
I think this will eventually rival OK Go's "Here it goes again" in number of views.
So, so into this.
Loved this video, I needed a good ole laugh and smile
You guys rock...the sock!

This is amazing haha
just found your music out today and love it already

Shoutsout to "Degrassi" for the assist.

I was in the coldest state now

I was in the coldest state now
I was in love once
Believe me you can be
I was in the coldest state now
nobody knows why
faith in the old style
I was in the coldest state
and I was in the coldest state now
Believe the waste has run out
believe in my own world
sleeping in the midday sun is alright
i know whats good for me
sleeping on the empathy
tell them all to wait and see

i was so focused on the dance I forgot to listen to the song
SOCKS!
Choreographed by Louis CK
Or OK Go's team. ;^)
Remind me a lot of Paul Simon
This was my Gr. 6 talent project with much better music.
This video though. It sort of seem like a satire of normal videos. And honestly makes no sense in context
Good concept. But it got old fast.
the cringe level of this video is TOO DAMN HIGH
