Let me know what you thought of this video!
Don’t forget to like the video if you enjoyed it! Spent two full days buried in my computer to put this together and I’m really stoked on how it came out! Let me know what you thought and if you want to see more or less detail for V2.0!
Taylor Ray Been watching you since you and Adam actually hung out lol. Keep up the great videos man, quality is just getting better and better. 🤟🏼
I have been around for a while on his UA-cam channel I remember watching the episode where he picked up the Miata the day it came out
Taylor what are the gold multi spoke wheels from when you had it turbo'd?
This video realy puts into perspective how thorough you were in documenting the build start to finish.
i wanna see all of the things. lol love the video man. very nicely put together.
The sheer amount of effort that it took to make this video is astounding! Thanks I missed the first 1/4 of the Miata's life. So this was awesome to see. Thanks for doing this.
same here came in late. I started right when it was getting painted
I came on right as he finished it the second time. Didn't know anything really about the build up.
Looks like I started watching about the same time too haha
The videos are there to watch.
Wait a minute...this is a movie-movie. Liked.
The night we found the kitties was the best night ever I love them so much ❤️😭
What perfect timing on my lunch break....some hero's don't always wear capes
This video shows not only the sick progression of your crazy ls miata but also how far you have come and learned throughout this whole build
So happy you didn't do a "LS Miata build in 15 minutes" video!!!!
First name Last name wtf lol
@First name Last name Have I seen you in America First live chat
@First name Last name I've seen you around somewhere
@First name Last name put 500 USD paypal on it then
@First name Last name so you got the 500 ready
3 minutes in, this has to be one of the best made "full build montage clip blah blah everything video" ever!
An hour of my life... And I do NOT call it a waste🔥
This video was so dope! Can’t wait to get more in depth with my Miata build!
Holy shit that was 3 years ago, i watched that video when it first came out and actually got into your channel because of it
For anyone who hasn't driven an LS Miata, watching the camera and cab shake during his first drive is about as good a summary as you'll get without doing it yourself.
Sat on the toilet and watched the whole video and it's safe to say *MY LEGS WENT INTO A COMA* and wont be getting up in the near future 😭 #r.i.plegs
I’ve been there my man
Legend says he’s still sittin to this day
I did the same but the feeling to my left leg never came back....prob because it's still in Iraq lol
Love how far this channel has gone. I remember the first swap and when the miata was just sitting outside your last house. Now its so sick and you have one of the best miatas on YT
WarsawMeloman One of the best? It’s best in class lol. Seeing that thing finally RIPPING is so sick man
EliteSniperTV I would’ve said the hellcat miata but that’s wrecked
Anyone else notice how much happier he seems now, like it doesn't seems he's smiling as much in the old footage. Keep up the good work Taylor.
I forgot how sad it was when the engine blew
I just noticed how chubby and young he was 🤣
A year and he changed so much.
Same with adam, looked like a child back then
@@xiukn8 yeah especially when it shows them going to pick up the miata also ben looks like he lost a bunch of weight too
Wow! I just watched the whole thing and had no idea it was an HOUR LONG! Looking forward to the V2 video!
I'm not a fan of ANYTHING LS swapped. But the time and care that went into this build I can totally respect.
Love this transformation!!! Also like that you made it one video, kinda like a mini movie of the Miata.
He had to have been working on this for long time! Turned out to be great though. Showed me everything I didn't know about and how hard he worked to put it together.
every so often you run across an hour long video and you think "meh, ill skim through this and see whats up"
and an hour later you realize you watched the whole thing. Thats the mark of an amazing video.
The very first time I was introduced to you Taylor was the video of you and Adam going to look at that Miata for Nicole. I’ve been hooked ever since. You’re hands down my favorite UA-cam content creator. And your merch is bomb af. I’ve got like 7 of your shirts, a hoodie and mad stickers. Love this channel. You’re also the reason I bought a Miata lmao never thought I would have owned one. Thought they were goofy af until I saw you and your friends having so much fun in them
I like this format of a start to finish compared to those 5 to 10 min timelapse video others have done.
3 years later you’re helping me more than you’ll ever know. bless you for uploading these gems.
Taylor... because of you, from now on I will keep my mouth shut about having never seen a millennial hipster-type guy worth a God-damned shit when it comes to fabrication, hot-rodding, creativeness, gutsiness, and sheer tenacity when it comes to a build! Dude... you're just as good as any old-school hot rodder I've ever seen and I've been doing this stuff for almost 58 years!
Black and yellow socks with red shoes. i Dig it
I like your honesty. You're the 1st to point out that you're new at something and proud of your results when it works...like a weld, like a cv joint. Kudos man, it made a cool car build seem real instead of like a tv show. Nice build bro.
Holy crap, I just realized I sat through an hour video without getting bored and clicking off. Awesome work!
one of the best videos I've ever seen. Great enthusiasm, thorough explanations during every step, relevant voice over and tons of real time video of the whole process.
2 am in SA Australia with fk all to do tomorrow, definitely watching this till early hours in the morning and not going to regret any of it! Taylor Ray hands down legend! Homies and i love your videos! keep smashinig it
ayee another SA fellow
Is it just me, or does watching this makes me wanna build my vehicle already lol
I love how Americans can do anything with their cars and still legally drive on the road. Great build!
Just sat down telling myself I would watch for 5 minutes. Most entertaining hour I have had in a long time. Trading my Subaru for a miata next week, thanks for the inspiration
I love how the OEM engine gave the front of the car, one more goodbye kiss!
this is literally the video I found your account from. I was watching this in class falling asleep cuz I hadn't slept the night before and ever since you haven't left me recommended and you make some of the best videos I've ever seen. it's nice going back and ACTUALLY watching this now😂
Loved v1 video. Great editing, voice over on point (not too many people can pull that off), and very thorough (and I know, I’ve seen everyone lol) UA-cam replaced my tv a while ago I follow a bunch of channels but only follow a few religiously and you’re def #1 since you’ve started. Keep it up. I’m glad your decision to make UA-cam your Full time has worked out well for you.
i sat and watched this entire video for an hour with no skipping, I dont do that for any other youtube vid besides car stuff 😭 you got a new subscriber
Okay the way that cage was built is amazing...the way it extended into the doors is what was amazing to me. It was a true 10/10 build
i have no idea how you dont have well over 1,000,000 subscribers, the sheer effort you put into the content that not only is informative but is also entertaining and eventful, as well as constantly changing to keep things fresh and non repetitive
Super inspiring, Taylor. Absolutely appreciate you bringing us on this journey.
The nostalgia feel of this video is crazy. Can’t believe it’s been 3 years already! This video makes me want a Miata even though I don’t fit well at all😂 6’4 and my head sticks out above the windshield of the things😕
Not gonna lie. I let this video sit for a while, and I'm really sad about that. I wasn't sure I could watch an hour long documentary from a youtuber, but you nailed it dude. This video was awesome. Next time you do something like this though, I'd like to see a lot more promotion for it if possible. Make a trailer and treat it like you're releasing a documentary, because that's what you did! Great work Taylor!!!
Coming back to rewatch. I am so glad I watch all the videos. It's fun to be on this/his journey. Throwback!
You guys just inspired me to go clean up our shop. Your shop you moved into is very clean and organized.
Enjoyed the ride and seeing you learn along the way. Awesome build
I'm a big fan of the way you approach a challenge, you dont except defeat and take it to a shop. Instead you learn how to do the challenging thing and work to perfect it. Awesome video I can tell it took some time to edit, keep up the great work man!
stopped watching about two years ago and Im so thankful for these videos that help me catch up - glad to be back taylor!!
Man so many memories its crazy, cause even for me i got so much memories of my own life going on at the same time , so much nostalgia ahah.. awesome work as usual Taylor youre the best. Since day one and till the end !!
That’s so cool to hear! I know exactly what you mean!
Man I never knew a lot of this stuff because I never found you until you and Cletus went drifting in the Z and neighbor but this video just showed me how much more dedicated you are to something. I’m only 15 but with the money I get from plowing Gardens and working on people cars I’m currently building a 1999 new edge mustang coyote swap and I’ve got an engine for a very good price due to my family owning a junkyard but hopefully by the time I’m 18 I can have the car ready to drift so I can travel and go to lone star drift and several pother drift events
I started this yesterday, and continued it today. Gotta support my boy!
Thanks dawg! ❤️
This is the video that got me into cars 3 years ago. thank you
I started watching the channel right before 1.0 bit the dust and seeing where you're at now makes me so proud!
I’m normally pretty quiet on UA-cam but I enjoyed this whole video.
I love your reaction to driving the car. You are awesome, keep it up.
I sure you are all over this now but, if you get a bearing race stuck internally again a great trick is to run a continuous weld around the inside of the race. When it cools and contracts, the race will pop out easy!
A year later and I’m so happy I found this it’s such a help to see someone else doing this. I’m having trouble with mine and this video helped
Little tip for anyone trying to push/roll your car... try turning any one of the wheels by the spokes or tire, you’ll have way more leverage.
This brought back alot off memories, thanks for taking your time and making this special movie lol 😂 👌🏻✊🏼👊🏼
Im up in jax. you got me into miatas. just grabbed an NB for a steal. thank you and your content for generating my enthusiasm for this chassis.
Truly inspiring man... I can't believe I've been with you this whole journey... Well done man, well done.
When I clicked on the video to watch it I thought the run time was 6 minutes 45 seconds. After about five seconds I looked down and saw that this video was almost an hour long. Thinking to my self ( I don't want to sit here for an hour and watch this guy ) mind you I have never watch any of your videos. The next thing I know its 30 minutes later and I am still here. Now the video is over and yes I Subscribed ! Nice job keep up the good work.
Bro i remember watching these as they came out. Not gonna lie, i was skeptical. "theres no way thats gonna fit in that tiny ass car" "theres no way its gonna fire right up" "theres no way it wont catch on fire at the drag strip" ..... I was doubting the process, not you man. And you pulled through after all the bullshit. Always loved your videos, build ideas, and direction. Keep it up man.
I don’t have a free hour to watch it but commenting to help the algorithm and I’ll watch later 🤘🏽😬
do like me, 2x speed. You can watch stuff twice as fast.
Wow..this entire video makes me realize I don't want to buy a used kiata for $4,000+ and rebuild a bunch of stuff. This is an incredible amount of work and knowledge you have to be aware of before attempting these things and I don't know anyone thats even close to this much knowledge or connections with cars. Ps4/ps5 is the closest ill get to a nicely built car 😭😭😭
Don't regret a single minute of the video I watched
Man, thank you so much for recording this whole process and editing it together. I enjoyed going along with you on the journey so much.
This was amazing Taylor. This is what UA-cam needs, more videos like this.
Seeing/hearing Taylor screaming yes after he was driving the Miata made my frigin day
Loved the coverage of the first version of this car. This run through is making me seriously want an LS swap instead of just any swap in my car 💖
Can't wait for the 2.0 video and every other video. Keep up the hardwork, love your content always
Hell yeah, a step by step play book on how it’s done! I would give this video TWO thumbs up! 👍👍
The caption for your car idling at 22 seconds said “music” and that makes me happy
Ι've seen every single video of this car. Yet, I watched the whole thing with a huge smile on my face. It took so long that the turbo times felt sooo nostagic.
So proud of you Taylor. You did it man. I love this. I really do.
It did! Turbo times felt like an eternity ago! Thanks man!
That center tombstone dash with all the gauges looks epic, beautiful, awsome, badazz, cool, stock, custom, professional, expensive and/or great. I didn't want to use just one description word for it Cause it deserves so much more lol
I was expecting a 10 minute build video and kept watching and turned into the hour that this vid is. That just shows how good your content be! I love it and keep it up !
I know this is an old video but good shit Taylor, You've done an awesome job with the LS miata build. The true definition of built not bought.
Taylor, you did absolutely amazing with this video. I didn't start watching your channel till a couple months ago and this shows everything I always wondered about. Your channel is one of the best on youtube.
So impressed at how good his welds for a beginner were.
For almost a 1 hour video it went past pretty quick,I've watched pretty much every video on the miata from the day you got it so I knew everything but it was good to sit back and really remember how far this build has come (Hopefully you go down the rabbit hole on the FC like you did with this car). Also don't let the low views discourage you this was a awesome video but the algorithm is going to screw you over because it's so long, if you do a V2 video probably keep it around 30 minute videos with two parts so it's more friendly to the algorithm and more manageable for people to watch.
For some of your first welds on a project I’m impressed! I had no idea there was that much involved in your conversation!😲 Impressive! I see why it’s a little ripper now!!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Really enjoyed the video. So sick to see how far the car has come! Keep up the great content!
Thank you for taking alot of your time out of your day to edit this for us, we all are greatly Blessed. Congrats on the build and thanks for the amazing content.
It’s come such a long ways and I’m glad you still have it. Hands down one of my favorite builds ever
One helpful hint with removing stuck races, you can lay a weld bead on the race and it will try to expand and when it cools it will shrink a little making it much easier to remove. As long as the rest of the piece can get warm and the weld spatter won't be an issue.
I remember when this video first came out and I thought well seen most of it already, but the short video of each step and a nice voice over explaining the process and progress at the time. I think you did a great job on production.
As I relatively new viewer I found this very entertaining. Respect the build a lot more now that I know a lot more about it
That was the quickest hour ever. Very entertaining and informative. It shows what really goes into doing an LS swap right and possibly steered me away from it for mine. May just build a sweet turbo 1.8 and blow it up every now and again.
I know this was about the transformation of the Miata but, what I am stoked on is how much this transformed you. #driftdad
Awesome video !!! The fact that you built it in a single garage with no lift is amazing, great video & the car is a ripper no doubt !
Taylor this project got me into your channel and it was crazy to see how far you've come as a context creator. Keep up the good work, big things coming your way!
You can weld a bead on the inner part of the race. When it cools, it will pull in and make it easier to tap out out.
Thanks for the video.
Really really really well put together video, great job Taylor!
man im in love this video. the start of this build is basically where ii started watching your channel religously and its crazy to think how far the car has come. needless to say ill be here for all of the builds to come, im (not so) patiently waiting for the follow up video of V2.0
Love to have watched this entire build as it happened and now see the whole thing in one video again
Buying the Miata with Adam was when I subbed to the channel, watched nearly all of the Miata build videos and I have to say I was getting impatient for the first event lol.
Rewatching this after the most recent corvette build is crazy
Same here. So many memories watching Taylor go through this before and seeing where he's at now. It's crazy to see how much different he is on camera too. He's come a long way!
I was worried you'd get frustrated with the car & give up on it when you'd got it all together & wasn't happy with the handling!
Happy for you man! Great work and thanks for sharing every part of it!
i cant believe i just watched this whole hour long video and liked it.
Man nostalgia, I remember watching every one of those vids from the beginning of the channel. Love the content, keep it up, it’s always good.
i never realized how long I've been watching you and Adams videos until now.
i bought an ecu master PMU, ADU, Keypad and GPS because of you :) just got it all in and set up last weekend, super happy i did it. love your vids man! always learn something :)
It's such an amazing setup. I've had no issues with mine! Only thing that's ever happened is the power wire rattled loose, I just tightened it back up lol
@@Taylordrifts I'm looking forward to putting it through its paces! if you do go for the ADU eventually, they have started making them with autosport connectors, get that version, because the ampseal connectors on the normal version suck! 😅
I sat through this whole video...and I loved every second of it. You can see the passion you are driven by and it's so awesome that you didn't give up on this build after so many attempts. keep it up bro
Mad respect to the love and dedication for the LS Miata! One of a kind that's forsure!
Damn the clip of you and Adam picking up the Miata took me back to college when I would watch the vids
