Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

Or maybe they have inside information on the cartels in America... Methinks the show is a bit more "realistic" than we're led.

"Slow down. I'm wearing flip flops." Best line of a fantastic scene.
fun fact: running in flip flops can do permanent damage to your feet. How do I know? I assumed I could do it and it turns out it messes up your ligaments bigly.
@@l_k_ Running on smooth surfaces is bad?
Yeah. Like Kim's wearing runners lol
If you look closely, you will see on your left hand side a giant F, and on your right hand side, a giant R. Together, they create "FR," or, in other words, FOR REAL!
The best con is they make shirley come up with the idea of trading them out. That's inception level.
They some genuines
Poor Shirley. An honest, hard working mother whose good nature and sense of civic duty was COMPLETELY taken advantage of by a couple of low-life, con-artist lawyers (with Jimmy we already knew his nature from Breaking Bad, but Kim proved herself to be that by the end of the series). Shirley even put her own job on the line by letting Kim switch the documents. This scene made me lose all respect for Kim.
Rhea Seehorn deserves TWO Emmy's: One for acting, another for Kim's acting :)
hell yeah
If actors get Emmies for doing their job right, shouldn't there be awards for chefs or awards for janitors? Making awards for actors seem stupid in comparison...no one appreciated the cooks or bus drivers but the people who don't matter. Actors, historically the lowest job in society..and we worship them as heros
What a sad world we live in
@@jamesmeppler6375 man what side of the bed did you wake up on to get all pseudo-philosophical
It's simple: acting entertains millions, while cooking and cleaning are completely unceremonious everyday jobs. There's nothing sad about cleaning; it's just a chore.
Also good chefs do get recognized
@@grod5998 that's your connotations about cooking. I feel the same way about acting. Though there are what a hundred+ cooking shows out there proving me semi wrong but it's all fake, nothing on TV is real.
When you grow up and get smart you use your brain more and think for yourself instead of eating the spoon-fed bs. The smarter you get the bigger the words you use because it's natural to talk like this. At least you didn't think I was telling at you.
Most the time I talk it's to educate. You may shun this education but there will always be another one who agrees with me
@James Eppler maybe I came off as too confrontational in my first comment; I agree with most of what you're saying, but there's no point in being so mopey and pessimistic about it (especially in a completely unrelated comment). It comes off as preachy and brings everybody else down.
It's a part of life that everybody's accepted and won't change anytime soon, so there's not much point in complaining.
However, the difference between acting and cleaning is that acting is artistic, which means innovation can be made, and interesting things are done. That's why people are interested in acting rather than cleaning (or other mundane jobs). The same goes for cooking.
Also don't try to school me on "education" and "big words" before you look up what "connotation" means in the dictionary. Seriously, I get your point, but you lost me the moment you put yourself up on a pedestal as an "educator".
How does this show genuinely make me feel bad for Kim’s fake mom character? I know perfectly well what they’re doing, and I still feel bad for her! Brilliant writing and performance
"All stories are true. Some of them even happened"
Because even though we know Kim's mom character isn't real she's believable. An overworked mom like that with an nonsupporting family isn't just likely, it's probable. It tugs on our emotional heartstrings as both audiences (us and the office clerk) get sucked into her story.
The phenomenon is referred to as "Gamma bias"
She uses the same level of acting for the fake character
I was squinting and squirming through birthing scenes in Station 11 and I told myself to stop, they are all actors, none of this is real. I did not stop squinting and squirming.
@@johanlorentzon4963 Gamma Bias doesn't seem to fit into what he is saying completely. Although I believe I see your perspective, correct me if I'm wrong, you're saying it's gamma Bias because the male (Jimmy) looks like a fumbling idiot and the female (Kim) looks like an overworked mom and because that fits into our perceived bias we believe it? I'm sure that helps sell it but I think it's more the level of acting, writing, and directing, displayed they make us feel for this person even though we know this is fiction.
Gamma Bias... "leading to a systematic exaggeration of the negative aspects of men and masculinity within mainstream culture, and a minimisation of positive aspects."
I always think about Irene, the old lady Jimmy scammed and destroyed all her friendship in the Sandpiper episode, the acting was soooo convincing, I felt like actual pain for her, as if she was my own grandma!! This show is insanely good!
For reall it's really hard to go through with those episodes
I even cried for her, thus I have sworn his scams
yea that was jimmy's lowest moment, don't know how he justified that and thought it would just blow over, at least he paid for it in the end.
@@theswedishdude1 He just didn't think of the possible secondary consequences. He never fixed that problem. It's just that it wasn't so in his face any other time. (Maybe except for bailing Lalo)

Every little town has a good woman running some small but indispensable department, that knows where and when to bend or break the rules. Trust these people.
No.
You can't trust someone with responsibility when they're so easily manipulated, no matter how likable they are.
Tahts what they were betting on
Well. They are also the weakest link in a secure system. They are the reason it's nearly impossible to make anything secure, no many how many peoples lives depend on it. Modern "hacking" is mostly what's called "social engineering". As in, finding ways to manipulate people into breaking their own security for you.
The sum total of mild inconveineces pales in comparison to some of the major breaches, and those are just the ones we know about. Even if Kim's story was real, it would have been better for the lady to force her to go through the proper chain of command just in case, for example, someone was manipulating her.
You know. Like this show showed. It's not ussually this clever or well executed, but stuff like this happens
This is why you can’t trust these people lol
How a good con works. Max out the person's focus so they're not tracking everything and feel THEY have slipped up. Then get them to do something that isn't horrible and morally wrong but JUST outside the rules that sets up the rest of the con.
Rhea Seehorn is unlike anything else. I knew exactly what Kim was doing yet genuinely felt sorry for the character Kim was playing. Out of this world talent.
1:49 You saved my a... life
The moment Kim remember she's professional.
Nice detail 👍🏻
This is the exact moment those blueprints became official.
Saul plays such a convincing role of a superloved-by-parents, never-had-responsibility, completely clueless and irresponsible, and possibly slow, little brother. Like Robyn Arryn or somebody, and that immediately makes the woman empathise with Kim Wexler, who is dressed and acting and struggling responsibly. Like Baelish.
in reality tho, Jimmy is a great little brother and tried helping Chuck in everyway despite the fact Chuck still didn't believe in his litter brother changing and becoming a better person.
Chuck hated him soo much when Jimmy started to show not only that he was caring but also able to change and improve, even going as far to become a Lawyer and get an actual case running up that was for helping elders (Sand Piper case).

there are 3 people in this scene and all of them are acting perfectly. Yes the main characters are pretty good actors, but even the extra is doing it perfect, at this point, it is all director(s). Funny how some triple A movies feel unnatural but a TV serie is this good.

I've re-watched this series from beginning to end... I feel stupid to say this LOL but I can never figure out what the reason for them switching these blueprints was for.. like what was so important about having the original or the copy you know?
I think it was a time saving deal, they snuck a change into the blueprints and skipped a few months worth of paper shuffling
They weren't the same at all.
In the previous episode near the end, Kim’s Mesa Verde boss says the following:
“Paige says what I’m going to ask is impossible, but what if we made the Lobbock branch the same as Tucumcari? I know we’re a ways down the road on this, but what do you say Kim, can you pull another rabbit out of the hat for us?”
