Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

Mr. X got a lot less cocky and a lot more professional after Mike beat his ass, stole his guns, and his dignity. The real lesson is, just take Mike's advice while he's still willing to talk.
Kind of wish/hope we get a reunion between the two and Mr. X thanks Mike for spanking him.
@@ReMattch That would be pretty great. Honestly though I pretty much trust the BCS team to do their thing their way. They have a damn good track record in the BB universe.
He was already pretty professional in his first appearance tho. He got agitated because mike was purposely being a dick
@@mr.onomatopoeia523 that’s actually a good point. The guy at first was genuinely just trying to make conversation with mike lol
@@WayneMercy Lol no, he wanted Mike out because he didnt have guns soo he considered him old and useless, thats why Mike beat his ass

@@corachgambler no, there is a Mike in the show.

Michael and Franklin?
LMFAOOO inagine next season he actually calls them
Honestly i swear to god every fucking time he apears on this show i feel like they are doing this on purpouse.
He might actually be fucking referring to them! 🤣
I hope they actually get michael's and franklin's actors for s6 lol
It's basically canon that there's time fold between 00's Albuquerque and modern day Los Santos :D
Mike's beating back in season 1 made him wise up 20+ years, mentally and physically
.
this is the comment i was looking for
I actually really liked this scene. Mr. X was a professional and did his job very well.
You learn to be professional after Mike beats your ass
He may not be a nail salon lawyer, but he knows legit when he sees it.
I wouldn't call giving your client a creepy "i want you" stare and eagerly describing kidnapping someone to the desert as "professional".
@@cometmoon4485 but then walt and jesse do exactly that to Saul when they first meet him. Then saul keeps suggesting they kill badger to make sure he doesn't talk
Nothing superficial about Mr.X boys.
Classic Trevor suggesting they kidnap a guy and drive him out to the desert with a big smile on his face 😂
I bet I know which two guys he was talking about.
Franklin and Michael
Then that exact thing happens to Saul in Breaking Bad.
"The keys to the kingdom" 🤫😳🤣
@@JoshSweetvale And in the second episode of Better Call Saul
He needs to come back in S6. Steven Ogg radiates an energy that is simply unfucking matched lol.

I hope it appears in season 6

After the end of Season 5, I realize just how much Kim has changed.
She doesn't even flinch when Mr. X talks about kidnapping someone into the desert.
She's in full "Giselle" mode and just keeps on listening as she flips through the photos.
this is the moment kim became giselle
There’s some subtle signs of her being ruthless, this one and obviously the one at the end of the season when they’re plotting against Howard come to mind. I can’t wait to see where Kim goes in the final season.
Yep. Jimmy's infectious, devious ways just naturally seep in via osmosis by just hanging around it too long ... like tRUmpism.
No she clearly gives the side-eye to Jimmy like "Where d'you get this clown ?"
@@Arkenway yes but at the same time she’s seeing what path Jimmy is taking and this shady guy and yet she’s too comfortable with all of this. She’s getting deeper and deeper into the dark side and Jimmy thinks she’s the same or he’s protecting her.

Granted that he's sarcastic and passive aggressive, but you can see he has toned down his active arrogance and assholery a lot since the gun-punch in the throat by Mike.
On one hand I'm sad because this is supposed to be Kuby's first appearance. On the other I'm glad they brought Ogg back. He has a real presence and charisma, especially in this sort of show.. Too bad there won't be another season, it's just now getting really good. And i definitely wanted to see more Kuby

I love this guy. He shows and steals the show then bounces. I remember when he was the best part of the Walking Dead for like a whole season. He's perfect for BCS.
Trevor did go the distance on this though, damn good work. I hope he comes back for the final season.
The classic Gta mission of fallowing someone with two cars of distance
Steven Ogg is amazing and I would love it so much to see him in more stuff.
"Back to the paintball field"
"Exit through the gift shop"
Saul has me dead 😂
I really love how being "put in a bag and taken out into the desert" is like a recurring threat in this show lol
I like him casually saying "I'm just providing options" that sounds exactly like a Trevor line
Bob Odenkirk and Steven Ogg are magic together 😂
I’m just going to guess that the 2 people he’s going to get to the desert is wade and Ron
“Guys who know how to handle themselves”
Yeah that DEFINITELY describes how he sees Wade and Ron, lmao
The whole Trevor/Sandy Shores storyline in GTAV had serious Breaking Bad vibes to it. Ron & Wade would fit right in with Badger & Skinny Pete!
I'm gonna go with Franklin and Lamar. Franklin and Michael is of course the more iconic team but kidnapping fools in a van (especially when there's not actually a good reason to do it) is more of a Lamar thing. Franklin would agree with Saul that it's a bad idea but then he'd say "man, how do I keep gettin talked into this shit" and do it anyway.
Considering that AMC doesn’t let actors cross over to other TV shows unless they are a spin off of the original series. I think it’s safe to say that Mr.X is Simon.
Didn't Jesse's character appear in a special scene of The office?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's not a spin off series.
@@JDarkAngeI wasn’t that just some promotion for the Emmys

Am I missing something?
So Better Call Saul was After Grand Theft Auto and Before The Walking Dead
Woah dude you just established a whole Steven ogg timeline
Damn, Trevor went from being able to take down hundreds of people single handedly (including the US military) to getting knocked down in one hit by an old dude.
Those "two other guys" are definitely Michael and Franklin.
“and Gazelle, this is… Mr. X”
“that’s my work name”

I'm so happy they brought him back. Wish he had more screentime though
I genuinely didn’t know this was Sobchak/Steven Ogg lmao. His demeanor and non-chaotic aura flew above my head compared to the first Trevor-sequel appearance
Perhaps his encounter with Mike inspired him to up his professionalism and cut out the showboating.

This show have 2 known actors for their work on 2 of the biggest video games we know today. If this show isn't legendary, then idk what is.
Fun fact, David Cross, who is Bob Odenkirk's longtime friend and costar in Mr. Show, was also in GTA. It was the vice city version I believe. When I played the game like 20 years ago I noticed David Cross as a videogame store operator.

I gotta say, much as I enjoy Chuck, Nacho and Lalo, Kim is the best addition to the BB world.
One of the few times Saul got owned, being called a 'nail-salon' lawyer and Kim being complimented as being 'legit'.
0:15 "You know those things are full of parasites," he said, probably wanting to pick the fish out of the aquarium and eat them raw, then snort the gravel.
cant believe Trevor is going by Mr. X now, he seems a lot calmer now
he was pressured by Michael to take some therapy sessions
I was hoping to open this up and see Mr. X from RE2 chasing Jimmy and Kim around
This is Saul's "I'll send you to Belize moment"
This is the moment Kim Wexler becomes Tuco Salamanca
Shut up
You could say she's pretty TIGHT TIGHT TIGHT
Is he actually playing the same character who got belted by Mike and had his guns confiscated? He doesn't seem quite so much of a twat.
Probably learned some humility after Mike embarrassed him.
The guy who got belted wasn't a twat. I mean, it does sound stupid to not bring a gun to a drug deal.
@@raskolnikov7049 Then again, having a gun isn't much good if an unarmed man can take it off you and all but stick it up your jacksy.

1:06 I live in Utah and Mr X described the entire state perfectly in 1 sentence.
As much I appreciate a Stephen Ogg appearance, it stinks that Kuby only ever got a mention in the series instead of appearing here. More Bill Burr was one of things I was most excited for at the start.
Trevor if Michael just say: ''im done t.'' instead of a fake death
I think I might have read that this was supposed to be the intro to Kuby ( Bill Burr) but he was unavailable for filming
3:17 That's where Mr. X was gone and a bit of GTA V's Trevor came in lol.
Whatever Vince Gilligan does next, I hope it includes Steven Ogg...
I wouldn't be opposed to a mini series centered around Mr. X and the Vet
I like that last line. Very much what Trevor would come up with.
Does that meet with your approval? Hahaha Very rarely to we see someone give Kim a mouthful of Kim level sass that stops her in her tracks, bravo Trevor lol (Kim is my favorite character, it was just funny to me to see)
So after Mike took all his real guns off him, Trevor's had to use airsoft guns in his work.
It took me a long time to realise this was the same guy who mike disarmed in pimento.
Ah a true Mormon, Saturday Night, Salt Lake City. "Motel Art" on the walls is a major league indicator times 10 in Da Real World 101.
Really hope we see him again
The look from Kim when Trevor was smiling and nodded his head while he were going to the back is too funny. 😁
I would have laughed if Mike walked through the door. "Well well well............."
I like how this gave Mr. X a little more validity. He’s still a little nutty but he proves here he is competent. Supposedly this scene was written for Bill Burr’s character but he couldn’t make the filming.
I didn’t even realise this was the same guy who got his guns thrown in the trash by an avid pimento cheese sandwich enjoyer until others pointed it out
Trevor is always good to see
3:11-3:57 is classic! something GTA Trevor would suggest.
Omg that final smile 🤤
I'm glad they brought stephen ogg back for season 5
"Those things are full of parasites" LMAO
I really do love the idea that he is Sobchak who just got really humbled by Mike
Trevor slipping an alarm just like that bank mission
In BB, Saul is the one giving Mr. X-style advice.
"Superficial? Wow, that is special..."
Gotta love trevor here
Nice scene to see his full skills, I felt like he was robbed by Mike especially after we heard he was highly recommended from the doc.
I love imagining this is Trevor after years of therapy and medication: he's still there but now he's a reliable, healthy, highly-functional criminal with all his expertise and personal traits
I just realized this was the same guy that Wormald hired. Don’t know how I didn’t see that before.
This does seem like what Simon would be doing before the zombie apocalypse.

His work was thorough and while it's clear he's a loose cannon in his approach, that's only when authorized. Mike humbling him worked out in his favor.
Get two guys and bag him up and send him to the desert... Hmmm, sounds very familiar.
Mr. X learned a lot working for Negan.
Mike really changed the guy. hehehe! very good actor!
Anyone know when this will come to Netflix
I don't remember anymore the context. Can somebody explain? Why did Kim want to screw over Kevin? Also, how did this pictures help?
Sure. Mesa Verde was in a dispute with a homeowner who refused to vacate in order for Mesa Verde to build a new call center on that land. Kim represented Mesa Verde but sympathized with the homeowner, so he had Jimmy/Saul represent him while trying to find some leverage that would convince Kevin to place the call center at another location. As for the picture, it turned out to be very similar to the Mesa Verde logo, which developed into a copyright dispute with the artist who created the picture (also represented by Jimmy/Saul).
@@arizonashane thank you for refreshing my memory!
Honestly it’s the one storyline that irritates me with BCS. Kim seems to hate Kevin because he’s rich and wants what he wants. The “homeowner” in this situation was actually not a homeowner at all. His family leased the land and Kevin bought the land from the prior owner to put his call center there. They compensated all the people who moved so I’m not sure what Kim was so mad about. She just feels like Kevin in the big guy and she has to protect the little guy from him.
She has no problem with Jimmy conning people, but this is a bridge too far. It’s stupid. The one flaw in an otherwise perfect story.
@@dreamweaver1603 You have something against Kim?
