  • Did our video help you? If so, consider buying us a beer: bit.ly/3feE6tJ
In this video we show you how to remove a door lock cylinder from your door without removing the door handle & we show the procedure to program a key fob to your Toyota VIP RS3200 factory alarm system (1999-2002 only).
Programming Instructions: 99-02 4Runner Keyless Entry factory issued remotes:
    1. Start with the following conditions: you are in the vehicle
    a. Key is out of the ignition
    b. Drive door is open ( all other doors are closed)
    c. Driver door is unlocked (other door locks don't matter)
    2. Insert the key into the ignition (don't turn it) and pull it out.
    3. Perform these steps within 40 seconds:
    a. Cycle the power locks 5 times. Use an even pace & try
    to go relatively fast.
    b. Close, then open the drivers door.
    4. Perform these steps within 40 seconds:
    a. Cycle the power locks 5 times (same as before).
    b. Turn the ignition to ON then back to OFF.
    c. Turn the ignition to ON then back to OFF.
    d. Remove the key from the ignition.
    5. Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should cycle (automatically)
indicating successful entry into programming mode. Return to step 1
if the locks do not cycle at this point.
    6. Perform these steps within 40 seconds:
    a. Press the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter
    simultaneously for 1 second.
    b. Immediately after letting go of the lock and unlock buttons,
press the lock button by itself and hold for 2 seconds.
Within 3 seconds, the door locks should cycle ( LOCK then
UNLOCK) once-- indicating successful programming. If
the door locks don't cycle, or cycle twice. Repeat steps
6a and 6b--this remote has not been accepted.
    c. Repeat steps 6a and 6b for EACH transmitter that will
operate the vehicle. Including any old transmitters.
    7. Close the driver door.

not sure if it helps but I know on the 4th gens if anything obstructs one of the lock actuators the vehicle will do that constant locking/unlocking when the fob is pressed until the problem door is locked manually. Since they use the same fob this may be your issue since a) its either not recognizing the passenger side door lock or b) since that cylinder is seized it may be constantly trying to lock the door but is unable to.

    • @TimmyTheToolman
      @TimmyTheToolman  4 роки тому +2

Thanks for the tips. maybe opening up that cylinder to see if I can get movement out of it again or putting in a lock cylinder from another door handle just for testing & programming purposes. New actuators should also cross one more culprit off the troubleshooting list if the truck thinks something is obstruction the door lock.

Hey Tim! Thank you for the video, once again! So, with this actuator motor replacement, I got to the point of testing the new motor before buttoning everything up. When I pressed the button to unlock/lock the doors, all work except the drivers side...the arm isn't moving like it should when you tested in the video....BUT when I manually moved the driver's side lock mechanism up and down, it actuates the power locks on the other doors...So I think that means the actuator is getting power. So...one question I have is if the worm gear should turn if the motor is plugged into the actuator and the actuator is plugged in to the door harness, without the other half of the housing on, (so you can see if the worm gear is turning)? I believe that would be the case, and since it's not turning with either of the new motors I tried, I think I actually have a wiring issue somewhere between the door lock switch and the ecu. Everything coming into the door lock actuator is getting power. Apologies for my long-windedness, but thanks a bunch once again!
