After getting the bugs out of this same stove I have to say it has been working flawlessly. Outside air intake is a must. Adjust your draft by holding in the up draft fan button and Aux button together for the high range or do the same using the lower buttons for the low range intake. Same can be done with the upper and lower Heat range and aux buttons for high and low pellet flow. I modified my burn pot by raising the sides and front by welding on 1" metal perforated strips to stop pellets from bouncing out. The door blackening can be fixed by cutting out the bottom portion of the window gasket(not the door) to look like the one in the parts diagram. Well built stove but just need to get the kinks out of it. If you aren't a handyman you'll be swearing.
yes agreed i have definitely lowered my auto draft down to 270 from 300.... pellets burn better and no up and down flames always consistent heat. the major problem is that all different brands of pellets burn differently so you always have to adjust to suit the pellet you are burning
Mine did this when I first got it and it drove me nuts that the glass was black in a matter of minutes. The glass on these stoves are draft “air washed”. For some reason the company ships them with the gasket all the way around the glass. If you look at the bottom of the glass on the outside of the door there are three slots, “vents”. On the inside there is one slot in a piece of metal holding the glass in. These are supposed to be open to allow draft air to pass over the glass to keep it clean. I called the company and they confirmed this. You have to take the glass off the door and remove the bottom portion of gasket that blocks them vents. Be sure you do the glass gasket and not the actual door gasket. The glass doesn’t stay completely clean as the two little sections of steel in between the three vents causes black streaks but I can go a week and a half to two weeks before I have to wipe the glass and it never completely blackens over like it did before. Edit: If you look at the parts list in the manual, it actually shows the glass gasket with the bottom portion removed.
Thanks so very much. I did an overall tune-up on my stove and as usual i wanted everything to be perfect and i've put high-temp silicone at the bottom of the glass thinking they had mist that spot. Because i've took both blower off, clean the intake ,the exhaust, put a new auger motor, and when the igniter blown off it did blown a fuse in the control board. I was'nt thinking about that vent thing. I've been surching for a week trying to adjust the blower. It was burning so bad besides what it used to be that i did'nt trust the thing burning overnight.
I have Englanders stoves in my house and we've found that the brand of pellets matters too, a lot. I also after i clean my glass with a mild degreaser i apply rain X it seems to keep it clearer longer. pretty much it is what it is with these pellet stoves. I dont really pay mind to it cause they need cleaned out once a week or two anyways.
What the company doesn't tell you is the door glass you have to trim the bottom gasket off because it is an air wash glass since I've done this my glasses been perfect and stove runs a lot cleaner
I have a Castle Serenity unit & I am so fed up with the lack of technical support from Castle & the terrible, unintelligible control that I am at the point of ripping the controls out & putting a PLC on it so I can adjust the unit to burn clean, hot & completely adjustable by me to tune it properly.
@@TheOriginalAndysGarage I keep looking for useful information but constantly find nothing useful. No matter what I do with this unit I still get a dirty burn, blue smoke, burning sparks thrown from the flue & a lack of heat into the room with all types of pellets, & a tar soot build up obviously caused by low flue temperature. The unit gives me zero control of pellet feed rate & there is no information about how to tune the air intake & combustion forced air fan speed. I wish I had never purchased it to replace the wood stove we had before. The wood burner had nothing but a heat haze from the chimney & literally roasted us alive...It is so frustrating
@@davidbrewer7937 My nose running really hot until I found out you can turn it down and the door glass was supposed to be cut on the bottom to let fresh air in is considered a air wash over the glass and it worked I cut out the entire bottom glass gasket , the bracket that held it had a slit in it to let air through for the gasket was blocking it
It didn't help mine. I'm hating this stove. I go. 3 to 4 above the heat setting. It won't use thermostat settings, no matter what I do. Now it runs 4 to 5 hours then shuts off. I don't understand these stoves. My eco cab was great other than heating elements going out. Ugh so frustrating!
Since I bought mine I barely use it it puts out so much heat I have to shut it off and that's on the lowest setting, I haven't had any issues yet of course I barely used it
for starters you need to remove part of the gasket around the glass at the very bottom of the door.. there is like a 3 inch section where the metal bracket is at the bottom that has to allow the air to clean the glass
@@TheOriginalAndysGarage you would think that the factory would make this better known in the user manual however they really don't give much information at all even for adjusting the draft settings and feed rates.. poor at best
I find that this is one really messy pellet stove. I have to clean it every day and to see the fire, I have to clean the glass twice a day (or more), even after adjusting the draft fan.
I have found do you have to Tinker with it to get it right with a draft and everything plus the pellets Tractor Supply sells are garbage you have to buy better ones that don't smoke as much
I cut the whole bottom all except one inch from each corner, once you do that when your pellet stove starts you will hear air being sucked through the bottom of the glass cleaning the glass you'll notice a huge difference, you're only going to get a little black glass after running for hours you make it a little all black at the very top of the window
I own a comfortbilt and when I called the company complain that my stove was pop Corning and In consistent flame high and low fire turning down my exhaust fan fire is fuller and. Consistent and almost no popcorning when new pellets drop
I have mine for 2 weeks now and it will not heat my 1,800 square foot room to about 62 degrees, even on days that are above freezing outside. I'm getting a Comfortbilt, instead.
I tried this turned the air draft to 3 my Auguar rate 2.00 per Hr...and I have a more steady flame and my glass isn't getting ached up as much...much better... I found that the feed rate on my stove was 4.0 pounds per hR factor I turned that down to 2.0 that's works for me, however some people turn theirs down to 1.75 per pounds per Hr...I guess you just have to play with the Adjustment to get what is best for you....
Its had one season, bought it last year , are other pellet stove witch is now in the garage was having issues to, so we bought a new one, house seems smoky glass is yuck, and dont seem warm like it use to be
My husband asked should he be calking the pipes inside the house, he just gave it a good sweep with shop vac took pipes apart to , i cleaned the inside,
Wow that sounds like something is wired wrong and the auger isn't stopping, I know this sounds stupid but have you unplugged it and let it sit for 5 minutes plug it back in and see what happens
Judy Colston Are the pellets igniting? Have you pulled the burnpot out of the stove and cleaned it? There is a little hole in the back of the burnpot where the igniter lights the pellets. Over time the burnt pellets will cake up in that burnpot and plug all the vent holes and that igniter hole up. If that is plugged the stove will just keep feeding pellets but nothing happens. The manual recommends that you pull the burnpot every day and clean it out. I don’t but I’ve got my stove dialed in the way I want. I do clean the burnpot maybe once a week.
Maigan McCue I run mine on HR1 and HR2. It depends on how cold it is outside. I also leave it in the auto mode.... buuuut I’ve changed my settings in the C codes. I changed feed rates so that at HR1 is 1.2 lbs/hr and HR5 is 2.75 lbs/hour. The draft fan has been changed so that the lowest speed is 100 and the highest speed is 270. IVE SEEN SO MANY VIDEOS OF THESE STOVES AND ALMOST EVERY ONE YOU CAN STILL SEE THE GASKET ON THE BOTTOM OF THE GLASS.

How much gasket do you cut out of window ? Do you take one large pice or just trim a little.

What should room fan be on?
Which fan the draft or the Heat fan. Anyways my heat fan is wide open and I can't remember what the draft is set at I haven't started my unit yet
