Cool. Another trick is using foil on smaller connectors or other items. Also, using a leaf blower helps with removing excess water. Good to see you back 👍

Never I did it all the time. Make sure to leave the red and black cover it protects the spark plug wires.
Do you have to cover the alternator?
Just cover it and clean it with a towel most people don’t over it tho
