Outcredible!!! The first time I heard Chris, he was a little kid sitting in a lawn chair in Silverton, Colorado looking up at the mountains and playing amazing riff after amazing riff. He had fine timing and a precocious feeling for blues. I was wishing I could have introduced him to Yank Rachell.
Your expertise with a mandolin is not dictated by how fast you can strum, how accurate you can finger your notes, or even how melodic your solos are.- It's weather you are Chris Thile or not!
You guys are so right. I saw them for the fourth time at The Newport folk festival, and Chris held the note for an amazing 23 seconds! I've tried several times and can't hold it half as long. And Pickles is one of the coolest people I've ever met, especially for a famous musician. Dierks Bentley is funny too. Noam is probably the best banjo player of the century.
@pianomatteo tonal, but severely dissonant, albeit in the best possible way. i like most of my music with a good shot of dissonance, and thile delivers even better than usual in that solo. dear god, what i'd give to have an improvisatory ear for shit like that...

OK, my Southern Appalachian roots are showing now! Gotta LOVE this! Thanks for posting!
Best version I have EVER seen! Just when you think it can't get much better than it does....

I love that this not only showcases their talents but their personalities as well. Great Stuff!!!
Chris Thile's hold on "eat my breakfast here" is unbelievable. that lasts so much longer than any human being should be able to hold a note.
I LOVE this man. sigh. Great performance!
Hahaha this is just awesome!!! It makes me soo happy.
I adore this band...so fun.
They are a great band! Each one is just a M0!@#Th3^&*r on his own and here they are simply amazing, with Chris Thile leading the pack!
oh gosh the ending is hilarious! and they are sooooo amazing live!!!
this make's me fell happy to live in Maine,
OOooooOOo man!!! i'd love to be in a band like this!!!
Some great picking there! Plus they're having fun doing it!
"I see that train coming", a little variation on "Folsom Prison Blues"....I hear that train coming.
This song has so many funny parts/surprises in it and they improvise it differently each time. Awesome!
Once again, Chris Thile teabags every person who has ever played a mandolin.
yes yes yes!
i cannot wait!
love the mouthed "shit" right after "and she read my mind". hilarious!
Ridiculously good!!!
Funtastic! Talent just dripping from their pores!
simply amazing!!
the banjo dude is just too cool haha
i would suggest something similar to a fluid bed sluice
astronomical talent . terrific fun , it almost makes being homeless sound fun
SO EFFING GOOD
@gtrdude777 ...since when did orgasmic flailing and that signature facial expression categorize as "stoic?"
@Benwade90 agreed. tonal, but definitely pushing boundaries =P That's why Thile's the best.
PUNCHBOMBDIGITY
hahaa, so great!
Ok, thanks, I thought it sounded like a Johnny Cash voice indeed :)
BONNAROOOO!!
i love the guy right at 4:11 who goes "YEAHH"
He is a Californian dude, what's your point, least he doesn't fake an accent when he sings like so many do.....1
Can anybody tell me what does Noam Pikelny says at 3:40?
Sylvain Brunerie I see that train coming.
dude chris is madd atonal, did you hear that solo?
@poptaht213 As a Tennessean, I'd have to respectfully disagree. :~)
Noam Pikelny, please marry me?

So Noam DOES have a sense of humor.
they can pick this tune perfectly, but Chris Thile sings like a Californian.
hmmm i dont think it is atonal at all. The whole solo is actually very very tonal.
polychordal, even
could he be any more talented? or funny? or good looking?
I'll take Jimmie's version.
It's right over there.
Not a contest dude.
@@austenrobinson2747 my opinion dude
