    Many of the locations in Genshin has taken inspiration from Real World Landmarks.I hope future regions also have these!

      I don't know if Sumeru is inspired from real world but I think it is similar to Kashyyyk from Star Wars or Noctilum from Xenoblade Chronicles X... It's only my opinion. Anyways, Sumeru story is based on the Rubaiyat and there is a verse which was used for a Chapter title of the game

    Fun fact: in Genshin, Golden Apple was created when Venti launched chunks of mountain from Mondstadt. In real life, the folktale of Ha Long Bay's origin was that Dragons were sent from the heavens to protect the mainland from invasions. They put the culture, folklore, music, fairy tales, language expressions and even local jokes in each region they make, all this should be only known or understandable by natives from those regions in real life. I still remember the first time i arrived in liyue it was so mesmerizing, i just stood beside the teleport and took lot of pictures of the scene. The location is strategic where the city faced the sea. Thats why i stay in liyue, even though im not chinese, i grew up from a village near the sea and we have a little town where most of them are chinese, so their culture is very familiar with me. The hot sun above your head during the day, the sound of the sea waves carried by the wind, the wooden bridge where you sit as you watch the phenomenal scene together with your friends. Then at night, you see lots of orange tanglung hanging across the street. It is even better when its raining that you can see the reflection on the wet street🫠

Matterhorn was confirmed the main inspiration behind dragonspine by mihoyo during a collab done a year ago, and iirc Tianzi and Huanglong were also confirmed as inspirations (as well as wangshu inn's inspiration which wasn't in this video)
    Most of this is speculation. But it is worth mentioning that back at the beginning of Genshin it was mentioned in an interview that they wanted to include irl locations to encourage people to visit places around the world. Whether that's still their plan is very unclear considering they haven't really brought it up again

      There is plenty of German inspiration in Mondstadt. The city buildings are in fachwerkhäuser style, the NPCS wear dirndl, mondstadt has its own weinlesefest festival just like RL german weinlesefest, the black-back hound dogs in genshin are said to originate from mondstadt and they resemble the german shepherd

    • @kanji2237
      @kanji2237 Рік тому +2

      @mia. I know I know, I live in Germany myself, in a pretty old city with many fachwerkhäuser forming streets that resemble Mondstadt, that's probably why I feel the most comfortable and at home in Mondstadt lmao

    So lets see:
    Mondstadt: a combination of many European countries
    Liyue: China
    Inazuma: Japan (both being very obvious)
    Now we need
    Sumeru (i can only assume it's an African related country or a selection of it)
    Fontaine (Don't know)
    Natlan (Don't know
    Snezhnaya (Given it's name and a snowy atmosphere, Russia)

    • @zhaskthekastianking5984
      @zhaskthekastianking5984 Рік тому +29

      sumeru: Iran, Egypt, India
      fontaine: France, England
      Natlan: latin American and probably a bit africa

    • @LaVitaNouva
      @LaVitaNouva Рік тому +17

      Sumeru : Mix of India + Persia + Egypt
      Fontaine : France and England during industrial revolution
      Snezhnaya : Obviously Russia
      Now Natlan, i can't pin point whether it's Africa or Central/South America, or a bit of both

    • @yuyukit
      @yuyukit Рік тому +2

      tbh snezhnaya should be a mix of slavic countries since childe mentions cooking a dish that doesn't belong to russian cuisine, but i highly doubt that hyv went or will go deep into differences between cultures of slavic countries, so yeah, expect it to be generalized to russia
