    No. It sadly does not. My husband worked OT all year to the point of exhaustion to save money for a home. We ended up owing the Fed an EXTRA $6,300. So, no, you can't win unless you're in the inner circle and know how to play the rigged game.

    My mother would have aborted me if the state had been allowing her to at that time. I would have been a murder victim. She told me so when I was 20. Abortion isn't about rape victims. It's about women wanting to play fast and loose with the responsibility nature has given them. God doesn't have to punish us. We will eventually die out because of it.

    Hi Matt I really don't know how they expect us to keep affording stuff when everything keeps going up.If we stopped sending money overseas we could use that money to pay for medical for US citizens. It is sad that people have to work extra jobs people are out working extra jobs and don't e en have time to enjoy what they are working for.We downsized and live frugally. We don't need all that stuff. I feel sorry for people that are buying these big houses hope they can afford them.

    Correction! Your health insurance didn't go up 20% this year. Mine and my fellow seniors are the ones consuming mass quantities of health care and you (being among the working people under age 65) are paying for it. Hog trough insurance or buffet medicine, whatever you call it, Has to stop. Slamming the young working people with the costs has to stop. We are spending money in this country like we are all Roosevelt Democrats. The good old days are over.

    In all honesty, it doesn't seem like it. My family badly needs a larger home and we were looking in 2019. COVID hit and it's been pretty rough since. We all the sudden couldn't afford a new home not long after emerging from lockdown. Even if we had the ability to buy, we would get outbid by all cash offers. 5 years later, we've been saving furiously and sacrificially in the hopes we'll be able to try again, but that feels like trying to bail out a flooding boat with a dixie cup while the government and inflation fill it back up with a bucket. I go to work now and hate it. It takes every bit of energy I have to force myself, but I got 2 kids and I have to take care of their needs. But I'm not gonna lie, I look at the future and don't see much hope for anything to ever change. I have bad dreams every single night, and I used to not even remember them. Most mornings I wake up immediately anxious and full of dread. I feel like I'm losing my sanity lol. I hope something changes soon, this is no way to live and I'm just one of millions who are going through the same thing. A person can endure a lot if they feel like they have something to work towards or hope for. We need some hope back in this country.

      So found out that the most expensive town in MT,Bozeman, has about half of the houses bought by trust funds for children of the rich. This is a University town and a basic starter home is around $800K. For the middle class, these homes are unaffordable unless you get a renter to live in the house with you. Not easy or possible for most people.

    I have a hard time not working my second job on weekends and evenings as I'm needed. Many are shocked when I tell them I work an extra job. My bosses both were very surprised when I disclosed having a second job. It can be too much if I work 8-5 then my second job right after I tio 9 or so. My kids are 8 and 10, but how can you pass up a little extra money to make extra credit card payments. I was blessed with a raise and I plan to use the additional I come to pay on a credit card to get more ahead. Then pay our other card off once the smaller one is paid. And building savings too. We are trying, but things are steadily breaking in the house and barn too.

    I own my home. My annual costs for rent/taxes is $700. If I were in an apartment it would be $12,000 at $1000/ month. It costs me about $500 a year to maintain the place.

    • @granitemoss1451
      @granitemoss1451 3 місяці тому

      Not insured? That $500 a year to maintain is not a reasonable figure. That's out the window the moment an appliance needs replacing, the places needs paint or flooring, the water heater blows or the roof needs replacing. I'm not saying it doesn't beat renting, just that you're kidding yourself if you think it all it costs you is $700+$500 a year to keep a reasonably maintained house. Even if you do many repairs yourself, $500 a year won't cover it.

      Relatively speaking, healtchare can be expensive because we seniors are choosing to buy medical care/drugs/procedures that are not approved by Medicare. That decision is on us. Relative to the rest of the entire world, we aren't doing to bad considering all of health care just went through Covid. I think a great many of us seniors are hard to please and quite frankly get pretty bitchy.
