There's this warm, organic feel to your rhythmic pulse - which I think makes ragtime shine. Not at all "metronomic". One senses that you're truly communicating (or communing with) this piece rather than merely "performing" it. So nice.
Way to go beautiful sound for a concertina! I know this is an old video but just wanna let you know I loved this performance. I have a full size and I’m thinking of getting a concertina for travel 😁
George when you get time, please share some more of your wonderful concertina videos with us! You play with such feeling, and really show off the versatility of the duet concertina.
It looks to be more difficult to play Maple Leaf Rag on the concertina than on the piano. Scott Joplin would have liked to hear you play. I certainly did. Joplin is one of my favorite ragtime composers. I would suggest another ragtime song called, "TICKLED TO DEATH" by Charles Hunter. DILL PICKLES RAG would also be a crowd pleaser for the concertina. Another suggestion is SPAGHETTI RAG, which happened to be played by the Titanic ragtime band before the unfortunate fate occurred. Let me know if these ragtime classics interest you. Thank you for showing your talent.
What happened to you? No time to play? While I'm writing this you just keep plodding along! Its a great rendition. Seems as though its some quaint hurdy gurdy that just keeps rolling down the hill ! I've had to copy it as I'm too scared of losing it, it will make me smile and get me going on those "hard to get up mornings" Thankyou so much for sharing this.
Very cool. I think concertina sound like this, but not other accordions has something very direct or honest about it’s sound. I don’t know how to describe it. It’s like it sounds “honest” and clear if something like violin, guitar, or piano have a sort of “less honest” sound.
@@georgeplaysmusic5443 "3 D printed" is Greek to me. Could you be a little more descriptive as to how to do this, and what they are made of? Currently, I have English 'tina' style thumb loops attached obstained from the Button Box. They work pretty well but are a mite restrictive. These might work better. Hope to hear back. Thanks!
@@frankevich Hello! Maybe I can be of help. 3D printing is a process done by a machine that heats up plastic filament and extrudes very thin lines which are used to build up also thin layers. In the end, stacking these layers a complete object will result. The "printing" comes from the extrusion process and "3D" comes from the fact that the object has length, width and height ( example being a cube or a sphere). @@r3dl4w63 Tahnks for the 3D printing info. Will check out the link. I am also interested in those button caps. Where did you get them and how about a picture! Very interesting. Thanks.
Hello again. I read the link you provided on "3D printing" or "additive manufacturing" as they also call it. What kind of places do this? Perhaps you do this? If so, would you be interested in doing a set for my Beaumont? If interested, please advise me. Many thanks.
You play great, however my concern is that your bellow is on your knee. It can wear out way faster that way and cause holes to develop in your precious instrument. Great playing, though.

Wonderful indeed sir! This is how ragtime should be felt and played.
What a lovely rendition. The rag suits that jaunty sound which makes so the concertina so appealing.
Outstanding
Everytime I listen to this, I am more impressed. You have hit it out of the park for sure! Tricky tune to boot. Bravo!
That's so fun! Such a great sound to throw onto ragtime music. So delightful!
OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A lovely tune, and well played, sir!

That was brilliant!
Concertina algorithm is dirty right now. Hope you had a decent year, George!
Good lord this is great. Thanks!
Wonderful!!
SNAZZY! I played along using my English concertina, quick-guessing the chords. Great fun! =)

Incredible stuff! Insanely well done, I love it!

Well done! This is a fantastic cover!
Thanks for listening!
Great playing and really enjoyable to watch/listen to - thanks!
Your superb performance of The Entertainer got me started looking at Joplin. Thanks!
Wow!! I had no idea this was possible on an anglo concertina. Such fun!!
Please Keep up the excellent recordings! P.S. Does your Morse Beaumont have the standard reeds, or the "tipo a mano" ones?
Real cool!
This is awesome!
Great job!!
I wish I could get my hands on one
Yes, I am sad to see production of this model discontinued.
The covid certainly brought some very talented peopke into the light🎉🎉

I should really get one of these instruments. Too bad it's not common in my country. Shipping is overpriced lol
Bloody hell! O_O
Great vid 👍
Thanks!
Cara, você não é deste planeta!!! Tocar Joplin em uma concertina!?!?!?!🙃
I gasped
on the concertina how do you figure out which keys are for the accompaniment?
I thought that was an Anglo at first glance.
Wow! How long did it take to work that up so flawlessy?
ey bro where did you buy your concertina, I'm, interested in the instrument an I wanna get one for myself, seem fun
I wants one. Where did you get it? And where can I get one?

@@georgeplaysmusic5443 thank you! And I got one
What's the tuning how many buttons do you have on your concertina?
This is a 52 button Hayden duet concertina made by Morse & Co. You can find more details here: www.buttonbox.com/morse-beaumont.html
Excellent playing. What are those thumb grips on your Beaumont?
The thumb grips are attachments I 3d printed. They help with hand positioning.
