This is it. This is the video that inspired me six month ago to buy a concertina. But I'm not able to pull off Grogg Mayles ... yet. But I'll get there. I'll get there ...
@@dom2dmountainvendigo366 bought mine used off of ebay. Having done that i would simply go on buttonbox of liberty bellows and pick up a Rochel for the $500 if you are serious about learning.
I want to get one of these and learn to play it, so I can use it in character while playing D&D... as a goblin/kobold bard, who tries to pester everyone, but actually knows what the hell he's doing with his instruments.
If you search on Amazon it'll give you links to different music companies, just be careful since it'll range from cheap poor qualities all the way to extremely overpriced. I got mine through an Irish company called "McNeela Music", they sell great quality intro concertinas, but they are a bit pricey
@Nitrocloud That's awesome to hear! When I started I found a book called "The Anglo Concertina Absolute Beginners" on Amazon that really helps figure out the note locations with great diagrams & help with proper finger positions / bellow movement. That, along with listening to people play on UA-cam, really helped me, but it did take a month or so of frustration before it really clicked. Best of luck! :)
@Nitrocloud I'd definitely say the Concertina is WAAY tougher than the Accordion to get started. Accordion helps you do a lot of things easily, with the easy-to-follow right hand notes, circle of 5ths bass note arrangement, & each bass button playing multiple notes simultaneously. Concertina forces you to pretty much memorize 4 different layouts, 2 sides for in and out. Sometimes you start a song and then realize you can't play a chord in the key since one note is going in while the others are out... I absolutely love how teeny it is over an Accordion's 15-25 lbs, the sound, the portability, it's such a charming little instrument even though it's given me quite the tough time!
Well definitely the best concertina performance I've seen on youtube. Idk what it is but the two different harmony/melody voices you have interacting are 👌
bro me and my friends were playing this on our galleon then a meg showed up and later on a kraken and then we ran into a brigantine skeleton ship and we had to fight them all at once and died
What he is playing is a version of an English traditional folk song called Three Ravens. It’s lyrics are about a knight or warrior laying dead under his shield and the three crows/ravens talking about how they will eat his body and when. Basically a song about death and dying in war and misery of it. Check UA-cam and listen to that song and you can find that melody in this sea of pirates theme.
Unfortunately since they're not all that popular, they can be a bit pricey. I'd say ~400$ is a good price for a starter instrument. For reference, the one I'm playing (New Swan Anglo Concertina) I paid ~900$ for higher quality since I already had a history playing Accordion. Just be careful not to go too expensive if you're not sure if you'll like it, but don't go too cheap that it'll feel stiff / sound poor. There are several companies on Amazon, just read some reviews to get a good balance on quality vs price!
This one's a "New Swan Anglo Concertina" from McNeela Music. I'd recommend shopping around for different types & companies, but I'd recommend at least a 30 button. 20 button Concertinas have a lot of songs they can't play due to their limited notes.
Me too! Sea shanties are so energetic! I also like Russian music too, though, so I think an accordion would be so cool. I just have no idea how heavy an accordion is. 😅 I don't want to break my back trying to play one! 😄 I guess you never know if you never try.

I love how you can hear when the instrument takes a breath 💀
do doo da de doo la de da *HHEEAAAH* do da do da doo da de da

The tears are sinking the ship!!

Bail!
At that time tears stop and pirate life begins
Why should you crying wtf haha 😆
