There’s a comedian I forget the name of who did a bit call “Pachebel’s Rant” that I found absolutely hilarious basically riffing on that very point while playing a number of songs that all sound basically like Canon in D.

Even so, this rendition didn't make a big deal out of the transitions and just floated along. Others can and do flip all over the place completely changing the key, meter, dynamic, or really anything else to make their "randomness" obvious. This one is quiet and smooth making the easy listening even easier

I feel like if somebody didn't know the songs that are added into it. And didn't have any knowledge of what Canon in D is supposed to sound like. They would think this is legit how it's supposed to be played. That flowed together quite beautifully

I'd love to hear a full version of "Canon in D but it's Gourmet Race". There is something special in the interaction of such a fast song and the relatively slow accords that makes it sound so "elevated" and dreamlike.

Hearing Mario and Luigi Dream Team music absolutely SENT me. I remember playing that game when I was 8 because it came pre-downloaded on my 3DS. No one has ever seemed to talk about it despite it being probably one of the best games I played growing up (my selection was fairly small at that time)
it's such a shame because at least up through dream team it felt like that series was getting better over time (unlike the paper Mario series which nearly died at the same time)
I love how effortlessly these all flow together. If someone wasn't familiar with the source materials I doubt they would be able to tell that anything was up. Beautifully done.
