I purchased the course with the link provided and I can’t figure out how you printed the slides out. Not very tech savvy, could you please better explain how to get them printed out?
Hi Cody,
The course is broken down into parts. Each part is broken down into chapters. Every chapter has a "chapter overview" as the first chapter. Click on that and under the chapter summary you should see a grey box that says "download." In bright pink, the chapter notes are linked as a PDF. Just download the PDF and print. Hope this helps!
Congratulations. Back in the day.. (late 70s, I took a two day weekend ground school) very intensive. But I passed with a 96%.. and I had never even sat in the left seat of an aircraft. Only after passing did I begin to take the actual flight training. Hardest part was trying to understand VOR and nav radio basics.... Did a weekend ground school for my instrument and commercial as well. Really condensed, but well presented and questions of others in the class helped too. Passed both on first time. Quit flying after 2080 hours, owned several aircraft, but it just got so expensive.

I recommend the ASA calculator as well. Unlike the sportys e6B it can do full legs, which really helps with some of the questions and actually planning legs if you’re trying to plan without foreflight or garmin pilot.
Right on! The one I have is the ASA CX-3 and love it.
This is great to know for those looking at options. I think the ASA may be simpler as well from what I've heard from others.
Anything over 90% is stellar. Nice job. I like the style course you went through because it actually teaches you the practical knowledge instead of just memorizing answers.

Thanks for watching. Those notes are slides that I printed from the Pilot Institute ground school course. It's great because I could print each slide and then make my own hand written notes on the piece of paper if I chose. I highly recommend the course and attribute my 93% written score because of it. I’m 6’3 in height is that too tall for the air tractors. I’m gonna be doing a discovery flight soon to see if I do well in small planes I’ve never flown in a small plane. But I would like to know before I dive to deep into trying to being an AG pilot one day if I’m too tall?

I would go with the CX3 but from what I've heard they have been sold out everywhere all summer.
Learn to use your es6b just in case you can't find a calculator.
How long did it take you to complete the pilot institute course? I’m a month and a half into the course and I’m on the weight and balance section of the course which is killing me right now lol
Oh man, I remember the agony of that section! I have a tip - get an ASA CX3 flight computer then skip to the end of the program where Greg teaches us how to use the CX3. Then go back to the W&B section and finish with that. It will save you SO much time! Also, I know someone is going to say it - I think it is important to know how to do W&B by hand but once you get the idea, using the computer will save you so much time and effort! And likely less errors. Pilot Institute took me about 2 months. I would study most days at least an hour, sometimes 3. Typically no longer than 3 hours a day or my retention rate went down. Then I put in a good 4 days straight of studying before my exam. I would set goals and that would help me get through it. Like "by tonight I want to be at 47%" etc.

@@AgAviationAdventures I can’t afford the flight computer as of right now, but I will invest in it in the future. I have mastered interpolation and weight and balance by hand, which is a plus. When I do get the flight computer, I will go back to the video and try to learn how to do weight and balance on the computer itself then I’ll be a master doing it both ways. I usually try to study at least two hours a day and try not to overload myself with information. I typically try to study Monday through Friday with weekends off as if I was actually in school. I usually use the weekends to review what I learned in the past week and study that information before moving onto the next section.

@@AgAviationAdventures One more question Did you physically write your own notes during the entire course, or did you print the slides and used them as notes and then write down additional information to save time?
@@dr3ww._ I did both! For most chapters, I printed slides and took notes on the slides. If there was a concept I wasn't getting, I usually took notes down on a blank piece of paper. I don't really remember stuff if I don't write it down so that's why it worked for me. I also made some index cards for things like airspace, ATOMATO FLAMES etc.
