The greatest Star Trek of all time. It will never be beaten! Wrath Of Khan is an absolute masterpiece!
Agreed
Undisputed best Trek film ever. Always will be.
I liked 2, 3, 4, & 6. #5 was as lame as #1. Even Generations was okay because a few original series members including Kirk was included, so Generations is partially part of the original series. But Wrath Of Khan is a SciFi masterpiece. It belongs in the United States Archives alongside such past great films as The Ten Commandments, Gone With The Wind, Ben Hur, & The Sound Of Music among others.
This is without a doubt the most faithful rendition of this piece that has ever been performed since the original score was recorded.
...+1.. What he said......
If you want insanely faithful recordings of Star Trek music that will blow your mind, try Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops' album "Symphonic Star Trek".
DoserDog the tempo is way off, too fast, it destroyed the majestic structure of the composition.
too fast.
@@brunoantony3218 : this is the version of the theme from the end credits - the tempo is correct for that application.
Look at the conductor... He asks them.....He TASKS them....
And they shall have him
What you did there, I saw it :)
Rest in Peace, James Horner
Chris Amarello also did Krull
The most grand and most powerful score ever conceived of. Rest is peace, James Horner. You left us too soon.
Still to this day Star Treks finest Film and Finest Sound Track, perfectly suits the film, amazing seeing how many people are involved in creating this score...amazing
As well as having the finest Enterprise of all time
The James Horner theme.!! ... Along with Jerry Goldsmith's may they be making their superb music in some parallel universe. We miss you on this side but at least the music is there.
If I were James Horner, I would be balling my eyes out after hearing such a beautiful rendition of my score!
Gives chills. Definitely the best sound track for the best Star trek movie!!
The music just goes with the naval theme..It could be star ships, battleships or old ships of the line on the high seas duking it out.
3:52 that's James Horner in person
That's great.)
This really is such a beautiful piece of music
I still get goosebumps listening to this score. What's over the horizon? Let's find out!
I laughing at this superior intellect.
Reminds me of my Uncle Rich, a fellow Trekkie who passed many years ago.
This was..is such a beautiful piece of music.
Love James Horner's music. He was such a genius. He is dearly missed ❤❤
Goose bumps literally right now ! Brings back so many memories
I love the tempo on this rendition. I always thought the the tempo on the movie sountrack was a bit fast. It sounded rushed. This was magnificent. Kudos
Always my favorite Star Trek movie score!!!!😀
Wrath Of Kahn returns to theaters for its' 35th anniversary. Godspeed.
Best recreation of this soundtrack that I have ever heard. (And I am super picky.)
PS: This is my all-time favorite soundtrack.
James Horner's music really put Wrath of Khan over the top.
Makes me want to watch movie again
Fantastic. What an atmosphere that must have been there.
Best rendition I have heard so far...
Swashbuckling in Space! ST:TMP's theme was majestic... but this one brings adventure and martial epicness to the franchise. It could just well be the theme from Master and Commander or Captain Blood!
What adventure sounds like! Bravo!
Beautifully played! Thank you for sharing!
At the 2:00 mark, they cut at least 2 minutes of music out of this arrangement. Such a shame, this was sounding amazing.
Oh jesus at the most important parts this video cuts away to pretty space graphics and I cannot see what the musicians are doing!!! So frustrating!!
simply beautiful. wish I had Been there to have seen it.
Wow, I was hoping they would have played the ENTIRE 'End Credits'(which includes the "Genesis" theme). Oh well. Still my favorite "Star Trek" score and movie.
Masterpiece
Beautiful piece of music!
The best theme ever ..
One of the most dynamic scores for one of the best films ever performed beautifully. I wish I could have seen more of the orchestra and less of the production. Why can't they focus on the performers and conductor in stead of dimly lit stages with video effects!
Astonishing!!! What a performance!!
Amazing!
It´s impressive how this soundtrack grew on me. Now I come to accept the boldness, the courage and the sheer talent of James Horner in working such briliant motifs and themes, the french horns, the percussion... it´s on par with his work on Aliens and Braveheart, but at the time the movie was released... I HATED it(LOL), I was such a sucker for Jerry Goldsmith work on ST: The Motion Picture(and I´ll dearly love the theme until the day I die), I couldn´t accept any other theme for the franchise... and while I was in awe of the movie, the acting, the editing, the masterful direction of Nicholas Meyer... I despised the soundtrack by the late James Horner. How wrong I was...
This composition I always find captures the insanity of Khan. Like during the way the violins and cellos interact starting at 1:11- 1:25. It's got a demented feel to it, don't you think?
RIP James Horner
I miss James Horner.
Sooooo good.
Beautiful.
Amazing!!
i wish this entire soundtrack was re performed and recorded with modern recording gear. Loved this theme and the 1982 original soundtrack release recording quality was not very good.
Sci Fi sounds like this. Love it.
They cut the music short at around 1:55 . What a shame.
Bravo!
They Should do another Battle Beyond The Stars movie
Lunar Twilight Theme 2017
These commenters get it.
This kind of writing is whats missing in modern cinema.
The James Horner theme.!! ... Along with Jerry Goldsmith's may they be making their superb music in some parallel universe. We miss you on this side but at least the music is there.
