Just wanted to throw out a thank you! Recently realised I have a schizoid personality, after thinking for years I was just a depressed loner with some autistic traits.
I have been finding that quality information on schizoid personality disorder is hard to come across, compared to other mental disorders at least.
Your 5 part series here is easily the best source of information I've been able to find online, so thank you for the hard work.
Totally agree. The discussion from the point of view of the wife (other) has helped me understand my parents' relationship better, and how I've adapted to their dynamic. I do think that my dad lands more in the schizoid camp than narcissist, and my mom lands more in the anxious/borderline camp. It was kind of funny when you said the wife likes him because he's so calm and practical when she's stressed about work. It brings to the forefront the idea that we don't consciously choose our partners, it's more about the underlying dynamics. If he were secure and knew that staying calm is what she needs, it would be different, but what she's actually "enjoying" about him (at least in that moment) is that he CAN'T be emotional. He's all left brain - that's all he's taking in because that was his only option as a child to move through the world!
Dr. Honda, are you going to be reviewing Yohan and Danielle in this 90 day latest series? In my experience we are witness full on financial abuse by Danielle, and I would really love your take.
