for FL studio users, if you have serumFX you can use this as an alternative to manipulate its EQ, the ADSR and many more that is in the simpler preset in ableton
also to add, you can use the LFO to achieve the wobbly sound, just route it to the noise effect, you dont need to turn on both oscillators, as for the low pass (in a way), use the eq on the most right side pannel, just turn on the Noise and EQ to your liking, for the ADSR, you can use the samplers ADSR (doesn't really make a big of a difference in my opinion)
As an old geezer, I'm not a fan of this particular Skrillex track but love much of his work. Love your Chan btw, been binging for a few weeks and I've learned stuff I didn't know for 30 years of amateur musical experimentation. :)
Every video I always reach the end and wish you'd play the finished track, for those of us who don't have the tools to download and listen. Great stuff.
Everyone is forgetting that fred again likely was fingertapping that kick beat. He likely captured fred again's fingerdrumming performance for that sequence. Among other sections of the song. But seeing everyone (hundreds of clips)try to recreate this with zero acknowledgement that fred again is present on this track in terms of sound selection design and application is astounding. This is now a grammy winning track.
Thank you for this. So many great little insights. If you want to do a short, I’d love to see your take on his Missy Elliot sub bass, kick layering. There’s a great midrange base wobble in there somewhere that’s been bothering me for months now and I still can’t make my own take on it in vital. Keep bringing the joy
@@EDMTips lol. Well if it’s too much of a challenge for some one with an ear like yours, then we’re all lost! hahahaha. Keep up the good work brother. Amen.
I really hope you see this because I love your tutorials, could you do a tutorial on how people like Carpenter Brut and Perturbator mix their tracks to be so loud? Im so confused because everyone tells me to shove everything into limiters which causes certain issues but I also am under the impression that my mix needs to peak at -3db for mastering. I'm so lost and would really appreciate your knowledge on the topic
"it sounds dodgy" (is actually death metal kick pattern)😁- putting a sub like that under real/sampled kicks is a neat trick I use for metal drums, but as you've said getting that tuning and envelope right is key
@@EDMTips Agree, but who took it to completly next level was Alan Wilder. Note how DM's sound changes since his depatrure - especially in the "ear candy" depratment.
I want to join a teaching group (like your accelerator program or Alex's bootcamp) but I my self have issues learning and am to afraid to join due to how hard it is that I know for me to learn is your accelerator program learning issue friendly? I love music and I want to make music that fits the soul of music while finding new sounds to use. I have further dreams of studying music outside our atmosphere and how it changes properly im more of a sound design person then a music producer but as I am trying to make a track for distrokid I feel I can be considered atleast a novice to intermediate producer. I did try a university but I failed grammar three times and was about to fail a fourth so I had to stop due to failing grammar was adding to how much I had to pay. 100$ per failed class
I am so so sorry my beloved friend Will, Dj Mandragora is the Greatest Of all Time. There is no other artist that started in 2012 and has so many tracks and even more in the style they found themselves (Mandragora is the founder of futureprog). 757.000 subscribers in 10 years. He is so able to combine psychedelic trance with trap, jazz, dubstep, hip hop, rap and classic music as well. His sound is so magnificent, so distinctive and characteristic. I am telling you, a video for Dj Mandragora. 😇

Ok cool why not i signed up for Wed at 8am went back to my email and thought it might be me i eill request it again. No offence, but all these "ultra modern youtube secrets" can't stand a sheet in front of an any previous eras artist. Any 90-s pop track is much more technologic and aesthetical in any aspect like a piece of art. And btw, Scrillex sound is nasty, but poor and boring.

Great tutorial again!
It would be interesting for you to do one on Justice (such as their new track, Generator)
New Justice!!? Will check out now 😎@@KevinYuMusic1
Skrillex went from super busy songs to embracing minimalism
Itsss sooo much harder to make songs with minimal sounds interesting. Props to him.
Simplicity on the side of complexity. As I say 😎
He killed it a few years back at Shambhala!
I wish he didn't, all those busy songs are so complex with so many layers.
Think he mentioned how Fourtet was the one keeping him and Fred from overproducing the track
Skrillex really is one of the most legendary producers 🙌🙌🙌
You know it :)
True!

would you ever do tutorials on how to make multiple sounds and have them work well together in call and response

Yeah he is. GTA said that when they showed him Red Lips he immediately wanted to remix the song and made 5 different versions. Insane.
Great piece of info, thanks for sharing!

Thanx for like

You do real8se that scrilex took this technique straight out of Depeche Mode drum book? They were doing it since the 80s.
That doesn’t surprise me in the least. Vince Clarke is one of the OGs!
