    I always thought how skrillex came up with the melody for Breakin' a sweat. This was one of those songs for me where i played it for the melody and not for the drop and thought like how much time he would have invested in finding the chords and stuff. Now i see this guy comes in goes "Uh-ha Uh-ha UH-HA.......give me a tempo like this" and lays it down on the spot.......What a LEGEND!!!

    • @cyberoverkill5844
      @cyberoverkill5844 4 роки тому +81

      Kinda hard to explain but 130 is kinda like half 170, they can both have drum kicks happening at the same time, so the bpm is defined kinda by the genre and accompanying noises.

    • @moritzbruggemann3742
      @moritzbruggemann3742 4 роки тому +96

      @@cyberoverkill5844 I dont really get your point. Half of 170 is 85 which is also nowhere near 130. Its more like 3/4 of 170. Which would be 127,5 but even then the rythm would be quite different🤔

    • @Vandalle.
      @Vandalle. 4 роки тому +52

      Yeh but people making music in their day wouldn't have said 140, they'd have said 70, so to him 130 is mad high, he wasn't listening to a click, he was listening to a beat at 170, probably just sounded fast as fuck to him so he just guessed a high number

      a) If he listens to music through beats then he is used to what music sounds like through them and his mixes should come out pretty normal as a result.
      b) He almost certainly gets his stuff mixed and mastered by a professional.
      Don't really see then harm, no doubt he got payed a shit ton of money just to wear them.

    Jim Morrison actually predicted a guy like Skrillex. In the entire interview you can find on youtube ...he talks about the future of music. Says at some point he could see someone alone on stage playing music through a computer or electronic devices. Isn't that unreal and ironic that his bandmates would be a part of that? The future is uncertain and the end is always near ....well ...Jim was very perceptive ..smart intelligent..very surprising to see he wasn't like his media image. He also said in the same interview if you had someone who gave you a lot of money and you went away and secluded yourself to write songs and create an album it probably wouldn't be very relevant. You would be out of touch. I think there are a lot of people out of touch!!!!!

    Edit: I got a lot of hate for giving credit where it was due. Skrillex revolutionized mainstream music and brought electronic music to the big stages. I wasn't talking about the underground UK scene lol.
    For all of my new visitors: This was 2011. This is pre-dubstep gutter, pre-Skrillex mainstream success, pre-EDM becoming a massive player in the genre field for Western Music (which was caused by the man you see on screen) amongst many other literally ridiculous events. Before Skrillex, EDM was very bare bones, very dry, and club built music. This man is a pioneer in every sense of the word, and is also a hands on musician, mastering many instruments, not just a keyboard. So before you go shitting on "the song being underwhelming" or anything of the sort, keep in mind this man literally revolutionized music in many ways lol.

      Tinnyalla Well, when you only need a basic understanding of music fundamentals and a better understanding of software, plugins and peripherals in order to create music, then imo the final product isn't going to be that musical. I understand personal tastes and all, and to each their own, and that Skrillex has a talented ear for creating songs.....but master musicians spend thousands of hours learning to do what you could teach a 5 year to replicate on a computer in about 5 minutes. And the 5 year old would still have no understanding of what they created anyways or how it fits in or rejects the larger "music" picture.

    It's cool to see Skrillex did this and doors decided to go along with it. Dubstep was very different and and alot of older people didn't like it. I think they just understood it was music and people are gonna enjoy it so let's have fun and make something.

    Man I'm so glad to see so much positivity and respect towards both Skrillex and the Doors for this collaboration now. I remember when this came out so many Doors fans and older rock fans were trashing dubstep as a genre and Skrillex specifically and were only there to mock the Doors for being open to this. We need to keep looking forward

    those people are Music, adding color may bring them back to the young listeners . their originality and creativity is unmatched.

    I have shivers and tears in my eyes listening to this song after so many years and DISCOVERING this video only now. The atmosphere is similar to what I have in my home studio - jamming is one of the best things I could experience. If that's how the best songs are made, then that's how I want to make music.
