I purchased an N3A parka 2 years ago, seriously might be the best purchase of my life. No exaggeration. I did indeed replace the hood trim with much much softer silver fox fur, so it still retains somewhat of the same look with the black/white fur.
Het Derek great Jacket and thanks for all of the info I hope you don't think I am being rude or ...you know one of those condescending eBay weasels... but just a couple of little things .This is strictly an Air Force, jacket not shared with any other branch. .. its very nice that it is complete with all the buttons and snaps, the correct Conmar zipper on the sleeve pocket,also the older models have a Conmar zippers on the hood the beautiful heavy brass Conmar for the front zip too. the "HEAVY" actually refers to the flying zone the aircraft would generally attain at bombing flight height the basic flight heights were Light ,Intermediate, Heavy, Super Heavy. Since this is more of a bombing style Jacket it makes sense that in those days ...( you are pretty much spot on with the age /date of manufacturing. this jacket would always be accompanied by a very high waisted set of pants in the same color. lastly the Air Force in their wisdom has decided in this jacket to select a "manmade" trim for the outside collar it is actually plastic hence its stiff scrub brush appearance the white fuzzy under matting is also actual fake to ( not a natural fiber. the inside of the hood is sheared beaver hence the soft and natural feel ... very cozy ...sorry to go on so long ...again great piece hope your ebay sale goes well cheers

Great pick and up and great alteration! Earlier ones would have Wolf or Coyote. They are fantastic parkas!
Where did you go to replace the fur? Thinking about doing that myself
@@JRD-wi1bh ordered the fur trim off etsy, then took it to a local bridal shop/tailor for them to attach it.
