I have a red pair of high-tops. Got them in 2011. Don't wear them often. Love the style, though. Be better in black
In the 1984 Terminator movie, Arnold Schwarzenegger was wearing a grey M65 jacket. Most likely the civilian version. Because it was not produced in this color for the needs of the military. Someone put on a gray jacket like from the Terminator. I haven't been able to find her for a very long time.
Great example of a film m65. Looks like they sell a copy of it at many places if you want one.
Definitely the High-Top Chuck 70s 💯 - Check out P.F. Flyers!
totally agree!
👍🏼🏀
Thanks
aviation leathercraff make the origionals licienced by irvine, has the label inside british made, they supply the battle of britain memorial flight
Great info. Thanks!
How much were they or do they do shipping to United states
You’ll have to contact them for prices and yes.
The edge of the jump door on C47’s had a lip on them which butts up to the door when closed. As the parachutists stood in the door and the rest of the “stick” shuffled forward to get out the door, the slope on the front of the heel kept the boot from hanging up in the doorway.
Thanks! Great info.

Ciao, you know the bonis a-16? Is it good for sew neoprene fabric?
I don’t know for sure. I know it’s a more general version machine. Just go slow.
Love your videos on the vintage sewing machines! I acquired a 111w155 over 20 years ago and the loud motor is getting to me. I think I will order a servo for it. I also have a Singer 108w3. It was in horrible shape when it found me. Moves freely now. Since I have many other machines that will work for my needs, I want to find a good home for the 108. I've got it stitching, although it skips stitches here and there. Would you have any interest in it, or know anyone who might? Thanks again for sharing.
If it sounds like it's time, it's time to replace the motor. The 108 sounds cool, but I'm not sure I have any extra room for it. Where is it located? Thanks!
@@derekdoeschannel Michigan, hour north of the Detroit area
A bit too far for me but maybe someone will see this that lives near you?
Great video, congrats. Just a question please: how tall are you (cm)? I prefer this size bigger than your usual size ‘cause you could wear a jumper also. Thanks. Fabio
Thanks! I'm 5'10 or 320cm. Plenty of room in this one for that.
@ oh my god! 320 cm (3,20 mt) You are a Guinness giant man! 🤣 By converter, 5.10 should be around 1,56 mt. Is it correct? You are 1,56 tall?
lol yes I didn’t add those correct.
@@derekdoeschannel Thanks again. I’m 1,82 mt tall (almost 6’ in UK) Normally I wear 42 UK size but I think this jacket in 44 size should fit well. Thanks
Neat! Got anything on a CONSEW 255B? I got the Father of the wonderful 255 series! It's from 1982. I just took it to a somewhat local shop and they got it going but they said my feed dog cam was worn and he didn't fix my timing belt like I requested. He said I need to get a new machine...Right now the timing belt is full of holes like Swiss cheese! If you want, I can email you pictures! He did adjust the Tenison and timing, which is great, and my machine still feeds leather fine, so I'd think the feeding cam not that bad and CONSEW part #10637 is a $28 part on eBay for a CONSEW 225, and that should work since it's the correct part #.
You don't need a new machine, just a new mechanic. Replace the feed dog cam and do the belt yourself if you think you can.
Thank you for sharing 🤙🏼
Thanks for watching!
Can find them in Army/ Navy Outfitters used or next to new.
I kind of like that colour too. I wouldn't have a problem wearing that. Too much velcro though. Maybe if you got a NOS version it wouldn't have as much velcro for patches. I think that's generally a depot addition. Depending on need to add unit patches.
yes the color works great as a civi jacket. Less military looking, and totally agree on the velcro.
I think the CWU-45/P has it over on the MA-1. Similar jacket, but with a shirt type collar. The MA-1 I think the collar is too small for the bulkiness of the jacket. That type of collar is suited to a lightweight jacket like the L-2. I think it looks a little goofy on the MA-1.
I like it, I just wish it didn't have all the at velcro on it.
Or sorry they also come in desert .. like you have there issued jackets.
I have a civy Alpha that I regularly wear to work on a daily basis. It used to be my go to jacket for years. It's still a good warm jacket. Nylon of course and made in China under the Alpha name. For what these cost these days, like over three hundred bucks in Canada, you may as well buy a used issued one. Of course though, they only come in Olive Drab. Whereas mine is black, or as I like to call it "Navy Blue". When I was in the Navy we had a lot of black kit, which we called Navy Blue. It's black though.
It's true, usually if you shop you can find an original cheaper than a repro.
Always wondered what the "P" stood for. I don't believe it's Nomex though. I have a CWU-7/P mechanics jacket and I don't think it's Nomex. Also other jackets with the P as well and they are not Nomex. If anybody knows what the "P" stands for I would like to know.:)
I was just guessing. I'd like to know also.
ร้านอยู่ในเมืองโคราชไหมครับ
I don’t have a shop.
The G-1 is the greatest jacket ever made imo. Simply perfect in every way.
It is a fantastic jacket.
I just got a brand new one, and honestly it's "too new" for me. I prefer how yours looks at the beggining of the video. Of course, it looks very used, but in a good way.
Great you got a new one, but it does take years to get one to look great. They can't "fake" it to look like an original with years on it.
I have the exact same one I was like wait a min that’s my jacket I’m from California and it’s going to be raining the whole week so I brought out my jacket today to later find your video 😂it’s a small world but great video Cheers
That's great! And thanks for watching!
I’m actually looking for this at the moment & can’t find it
I do see them pop up but only a few a year. Keep looking and you'll find one.
The strap is to stop the jacket riding up when climbing
Thanks!
If you don't want that much patina in some worn places, where the leather it's already too light, you can mix brown shoe polish into conditioner. And on zippers bar of soap seems to lubricate better
great suggestions. thanks!
👌🏼
Really cool jacket. Thanks Derek.
Thanks!
Made of the right material. I prefer pressstuds on pockets.
It is and I’m not a huge fan of Velcro myself
man, how wide is the poncho?
it's about 44"
In vintage HiFi, all Asian brands sound the same, cheap construction, same parts, mass produced. They make sound, but have no real clarity/transparency😢. In the audiophile hobby, it’s affordable ground-level gear. And from there, you pursue how far you want to go😎.
Thanks. I think there are better models in the line of Japanese brands. I don’t find them cheap construction though. They’re way over built compared to something from the 90s and up.
Cool video! Where can i get a pair of these?
Thanks, as far as I know they don't make a repro version so it's probably ebay.
I recently picked one of these up in my size (Golden, 2008). I have a 1968 Alpha, as well as an M81 M65 from American Apparel (don’t remember the year). I often find myself coming back to the UCP M65, it’s not a good camo outside of niche environments but I find it very aesthetically pleasing.
It does have a smooth look about it.
Just bought an 1986 a few days ago. Needs some work, but it’s a fun car. 88k miles.
Great pickup! And super low miles.
I’ve been wearing pf flyers for years. I’m so glad they brought them back from the dead. They look way better than converse. They fit true to size. Great video.
Thanks I really like them too.
Great video. I have a pair of the handballs as well. I also love the gazelle and samba. They all look great with heritage vintage type clothing I wear.
Thanks Yes a vintage looking pair of kicks make any outfit.
If anyone is not familiar with Marantz 1060 amplifier, chk it out IMO it sounds good and lots of extra points for styling.
Pendleton's made the sweater that The Dude wore in The Big Lebowski. That was a vintage '70's sweater. They were discontinued because they weren't popular after the '70's. After the movie though, there was a renewed demand for them, so Pendleton's brought them back, but now they are made in China. Kind of sad really, but we are no strangers to made in China reproductions. It's just when iconic American items have to be made in another country, there is something wrong. They are not cheap sweaters either, they are $270 US.
Yes, I actually have a video on the Dude Sweater as I own 2! Check it out if you'd like too.
These series of Technics receivers don’t receive much love for some reason. I think they are pretty good dont have the SA500 but the 300.
Yes, I love mine. It's never let me down and always looks and sounds great!
Great video! I found your chanel searching M65 infos prior to a purchase. It was very helpful to watch your video. I found an old ERDL M65 from the 70’s❤
Thanks! That's a great pick up! I think that first came out in 1967 in very small numbers.
where to find m51 field jacket? And why it is hard to find
ebay is probably the best place, what size are you. It is hard to find because they only made them from 1951 to 1964.
@@derekdoeschannel Cockpit Usa? or Pike Brothers
if you're going with a repro, probably Pike Brothers. But look for an original on ebay first.
Nice. I like oldschool things.
Thanks , me too.
The new A2 Jacket looks strange/weird to me. I prefer the old and classic one from WW 2 era and love my repro :) Think about to purchase a second reproduction of the old A2. Thank you for your videos :) Can you do "Vietnam Flak Jacket"? Best wishes from Germany.
I'm a purest myself. The new A2 looks too much like a fashion version of the original. Once I can find a Flak jacket I will!
I love my shadow-plaid Pendleton! One small moth hole, but it’s been keeping me warm this unexpectedly cold Florida winter.
It’s my favorite also. And lucky you have it as of late.
Back in 2019 I Found a pair of ‘82 NOS as well non selvage like yours
They are out there, but harder to find. Great you found one!
👍🏻🇨🇦👍🏻
thanks!
Can I see Copyright 1982 on the paper label?
Yes you can.
👌🏼
I have four of the Pendleton Board shirts. With the exception of a couple of very small moth holes they are in great condition. They are my size but I can't stand to wear them though, because the collars remind me of a 70s leisure suit. Besides, they remind me of the Beach Boys and I'm not a fan of the Beach boys. LOL. When I was a kid, our fashion statement was black or white t-shirts , jeans, high top Converse sneakers or engineer boots. And the ever present Derby jacket. That's what a large percentage of kids wore in the 70's in, and around the S. F. Bay Area. At least the kids I hung around. Sorry for the long winded post. Thanks for another great vid. 👍👍
Thanks! And break out those old ones just for fun.
Derek has cool stuff! Pendleton is such a great brand and items, keep up the great work.
Thanks for the kind words!
