I am watching this because I just got an old BSA jacket that needs to be brought back to life. I have already found Recard on Amazon before I finished watching. :P
Excellent! It should turn out great!
Hello, great Video! Can you please elaborate on the attachment for flat felled seams? I would like to do this as well. Thank you.
Hi, you'll just need a standard felling attachment but the thing you will need is an endcap for the machine that has a place to screw it on. Or have something made that will fit the machine.
My very first car was an 87 LXi just like this one. I miss it oh so much!
try to find another. well worth it!
Thanks for going over the history! A lot of the stuff you cover is before my time so it’s neat getting the the context to fully appreciate it!
Thanks!
Always a great day when Derek Does!!! Love bowling shirts, so you picked another great vintage classic item. Keep up the great work.
Thanks!

I'm not sure what you mean?
I would like to purchase, do you ship all the way to Philippines?
Hi, none of these caps are for sale.
The one in the Dutch oven has a better shape and rise, it’s rounder. Too bad you didn’t show us the inside crumb.
thanks, the dutch oven does a better job on the bread overall. I've actually improved my recipe and technique since I made this video.
Looking for the sweater as my dad loves the movie. Came across this video and thought to myself, 14 minutes talking about a sweater? I can’t sit through that. 14 minutes later, wonderful video! Thanks for your detail, but also your care and passion on this topic!
Thank you! I realize that 14 on a sweater sounds silly, unless it's the Big Lebowski sweater! Thanks again for watching!
I like that fade on the worn pair. I bet the new stuff doesnt fade the same way!
No, they don't. Not without some cone denim!
My father had a pipe like in this video that my grandfather gave him. My grandfather early on realized he was addicted to cigarettes. So he told my father when he was young that if he didn't smoke cigarettes he would buy him a pipe when he turned 18. That is what happened and my father saved that pipe as a memento. My grandfather passed away at 72 from smoking, my uncle only lived to 65 from smoking, while my father who never smoked cigarettes lived to 97.
very interesting story! Do you still have the pipe?
@@derekdoeschannel Sadly no. Toward the end my folks moved places multiple times and my siblings not knowing the significance likely disposed of his old pipes, which hadn't been used in decades.
Where could I find a lamp?
They’re kind of hard to find but they’re out there. eBay has them but they’re not cheap.
Jaket yang sangat bagus❤ ada kah jaket m41 dan m42
Thanks! Yes there are.
Gertner carbs are not great carbs to be leaving on mobys... to tossed mine and got a 21mm phbg and a phbg intake and not it goes 40mph
Nice!
I gotta have one now. Theyre only like 50-60 bucks on ebay
They're kind of pretty cool. Get one!
You're a stylin' dude, Derek! What kind of buffalo check flannel are you wearing? How about the casquette? New sub!
Thanks. I think it's just a jcrew thrift store pick up, the hat is from "hat people" from 15 years ago or so. Most all my stuff is thrift or vintage.
Any update on refurbishing the 12” band saw. I recently purchased the same saw however mine is missing the upper blade thrust bearing. I saw one online and hope to get it soon. Otherwise it needs some heavy clean up.
I ran out of space and time and sold it but kept the drill press as I use it more than the band saw. Stick with it if you can as they're amazing when they're finished.
Love that Bronco. And the Sub shop in that shopping center!
lol! Next time you're here....
🤘🏼⛽️
Thanks!
Derek does everything cool and vintage. Thanks for sharing, as that Bronco is quite a gem. Always love your content. Keep up the great work.
Thank you!
Out of curiosity, what are the measurements on these items? I’m a shorter guy and I tend to wear small sized clothing.
The jacket's chest is 16.5 across. I assume the shirts are the same.
@@derekdoeschannel - Ah, yeah, that’s definitely too small for me 😂 It’s unfortunate, because they’re really nice.
As you may have learned in the year since posting this video, your LG-2 is well worth restoring. A proper luthier could help you determine what work would be required.
Thanks. I would love to, but I just don't have the extra funds for it currently.
@@derekdoeschannel Judging from what I saw on the video and your comments about how it plays, perhaps you could start with a simple assessment of the necks relief/straightness and any necessary truss rod adjustment to help it play better. While you're at it, check down both sides of the fingerboard extension across the top for cracks - they can be dangerous. That shouldn't cost much, but might yield a real improvement in action and playability. The rest can wait, but depending on the overall condition, you could be looking at that instrument being worth $3,000-ish.
@@davidscotbrown3241 I'll see what I can do. Thanks again!
Hi from Wales. Picked one up today. Looks exactly like yours but there is no tab anywhere. I hope it is authentic. It has the same studs and zip.
I'm sure it's original, just missing the tag. Great pick up!
@@derekdoeschannel thanks.
Hello fellow Goonie (gotta get that shirt)👍🏾👏🏾🫶🏽🎈
Goonies Never Die. Thanks!
Always g interesting content, Derek. Keep up the great work.
Those are 403’s not 405’s
Thanks!
Como passar a linha
what are you asking?
What’s the max weather to wear this jacket just over a t shirt I always loved this style of jacket and I ordered one but I’m waiting to get it and wanna know
Hi, easily down to the mid 50's. It's just leather and cotton drill lining so not a ton of insulation, but bump it up to a sweatshirt or sweater and you're good for even lower. Plus, during the war, they wore them as a sweater in a way under other jackets when it got really cold.
@@derekdoeschannel that’s a cool fact and sounds good It’s a bit chilly here in the winter but I think I’ll be good
Cool finds, I have my father's uniforms from the 1940's. Those are definitely early good luck with them. I was in troop 48 here in New Orleans. In fact I used a green explorer uniform while attending meetings and camping trips. You might search for the local BSA shop and offer them one for display, in order to get attention towards the others. Great Examples i wish you the best and thank you for helping to preserve those uniforms.
thanks! awesome you still have your dads too! I might see if there is a shop around my area.
Pretty sure they’re 1986. 0386
Jaket yg sangat bagus ❤
Thank you
👌🏼
Thanks
Great items, Derek. Keep up the great work. You always have the most interesting vintage and collectible gems. Great channel.
Thanks!
Nice. I was a Cub Scout. It was a kind of military outfit, established by Baden Powell. I went from the first year leather woggle, which was a neckerchief at the throat holder, to a silver metal woggle, and then the gold woggle.
Thanks! I did the same.
Dear UA-cam community. A few days ago I bought an original B3 jacket from the US Air Force. The label says size 60 and it is from the 80s. Can someone tell me roughly what the cut looks like? And what size is that in the EU? I wear jackets in German size 56 and they fit me very well and are not too loose. Many greetings from Germany.
Hi, if it's from the 1980's it is not an original B3 jacket, but a reproduction.
@@derekdoeschannel Thank You for your Massage! Do you think it will fit me? I am 1.80m tall and weigh 100 kilograms and am muscular
@@marcodeleone If it's an American size 60 that seems really big. If it's an Italian 60 then it might. I'd ask for measurement of the actual jacket to confirm.
@@derekdoeschannel Thank you From armpit to armpit it is 70cm and the total length is 75cm
You don't want to be wearing a relic like that today. It's 70 years old and should be preserved. A more modern N-2B is quite another issue.
Got a ww2 gasmask book
I have both a 65 and a 51 and I definitely prefer my 51, I work in the wildlife field and it is a great multi season work coat especially when working out in the field
I agree, the M51 is a better coat than the M65 for everyday use.
Any chance you might be able to point me in the right direction to find the articulating clamp for the bulb housing? I am restoring an original US Navy 31-15 on a battleship and have the original SLF-2 but the articulating clamp is missing and the clamp for the machine itself is just loose and will not snug up to the machine
send me an email with a pic of the part you're looking for. I probably have an extra.
Overpriced jackets....They will rip you off....treating our citizens wrongly.Shiesters...
what are you referring too?
Got new w2 1940 gas mask
sweet!
So which size do you recommend more, S/M?
What size are you in a regular jacket?
L. Sometimes M
My god that front end looks like an AE86 Corolla/Trueno
It really does. Just it’s front wheel drive

Really neat! I’ve only ever seen The regular Levi’s rivets so seeing these flatter ones was pretty cool
Thanks. I've not seen them either. I assume they use them so they're smoother for a ladies hand?
Nice 👍
Thanks ✌
