I'm not a fan of Playstations exclusives and yes I prefer xbox even though if xbox has exclusives or not. It's based on way more than just exclusives.

Thank xbox for bringing Bethesda games to console. Microsoft convinced Bethesda to launch Morrowind on the og xbox at the time developers didn't think it was possible to have a pc game run in console but eventually they port Morrowind to the OG Xbox and Bethesda saw great success and when Oblivion came out it launched on the Xbox360 and eventually ps3 a year later. Growing up we had gamecube xbox and ps2 and a PC. Spend hundreds of hours playing StarCraft on PC and Morrowind on xbox. Ps2 got played the leats inthe house. Gamecube and xbox got alnost equal amount of play because they have 4 controller port and it was me and my 3 other brothers. We olaued alot of halo and mario double dash and smash bross.
@@syminite1 Actually this is the power of GAMEPASS. You can have both. If you feel like chillin on the couch and playing on your Xbox, go for it. If you're at your computer, you can boot up your same account and take over where you left off with your cloud save and play on PC for a bit. You can go back and forth this way. I did exactly that with High on Life. It was the perfect game to play in lazy little bursts. I played on the couch for a bit, then someone want to watch TV so I played on the PC for a bit and so on. It was fun.

Microsoft THEMSELVES encouraged people to buy PC's to play their games and to get game pass, incase you been under a rock lately majority of Xbox game pass subs are PC owners, not consoles owners and this came DIRECTLY from Mircosoft THEMSELVES. Phil Spencer said that Game Pass subscriptions was growing INCREDIBLY on PC, but slowing down on consoles because everybody on console that wants to subscribe are already subscribed to game pass. Mircosoft had told use for years now they don't care about the console space and you people STILL go hard for the console. Mircosoft are in the gaming community to get enough subscribers to go full on streaming. This has been a rumor for years now, and after the FTC vs Mircosoft hearing with the emails that was exposed we know for SURE! that Mircosoft/Xbox will be out of the console space soon

Why can't people just get both I don't understand this mentality people have. That they made some kind of oath or something to stay loyal to one brand. Now I can understand that some people may not can afford both at the moment but geez.
I think it mostly comes down to economics. A lot of people truly can't afford both and instead of acknowledging that they may have bought a system that doesn't fully meet their needs (or wants) they'd rather resort to behavior that destroys "the other side". The advantage to buying a series x over series s also lies in the backward compatibility lineup. There are a ton of older games that got an upgrade only available on the Series X and One X consoles. That remaster of Red Dead Redemption that everyone wanted for a decade. Microsoft upgraded it themselves. Same with Ninja Gaiden Black and Ninja Gaiden 2, Panzer Dragoon Zewi, and many more titles. It's amazing to load up an older game and realize Microsoft did a free 4K HDR remaster that is not available any where else. The upgrade to these games are not available on the Series S though.
@gawdtheblessedone4681 you miss understood him. What he is trying to say on series X many of those backward compatible games got boosted. For example finally fantasy 13 is 4k and 13-2 and 13 lighting returns are 4k 60fps. They damn near look like remasters. If the boost for some older titles is important to you than the upgrade is worth it.
It’s funny because I’m an Xbox first gamer, but I spend all my time creating on Dreams PS4/PS5. Really trying to get my second Dreams project finished before Starfield drops.

I'm also a PlayStation player and it will continue to be my main game system, but I have already purchased a series s just for Starfield. PlayStation has nothing close to Starfield and its a dream game for me, as I'm getting older I want to experience this game
In 2009 I got an Xbox 360 and I was able to play many great games on it. But when "the Last of Us" came out exclusively on the Playstation, I bought a PS4 and played many other great games on it as well. Unfortunately I couldn't get my hands on a PS5 in recent years and when I heard that Bethesda Game Studios had been bought by Microsoft, I didn't hesitate for a second and bought an Xbox series X because I love Bethesda's games very much and the music from those games. When I heard the music of Skyrim at 1:20 I got goosebumps again as usual. What great music!
Xbox is the place to be Best value in gaming Gamepass Acquisitions coming in lots of Gen 9 games inbound next 12-18 months. Bethesda alone if RPG fan. Day 1 no 70 bucks per game. No o insert SSD at own risk no gen 8 games upscaled for PS5 GT 7 GOW Spiderman 2 etc. Join the revolution you won't look back.
If anyone can afford it then IMO it's best to have both consoles. Most people say go PC and PS5/Switch but it's almost impossible to find a $299 or $349 PC that can run Starfield and most other upcoming games.

If you want to fully exploit backwards compat mode go with the X, even if it means just asking for money towards it. The main reason being cheap second hand discs are almost always cheaper on ebay or at game fairs. Added to that backcompat doesn't care about disc regions, just that it's a genuine disc you slot in. You can quickly get a nice game collection going on disc saving more than the extra cost for the X.
@@UglySofaGaming 4k upscalling yeah as the S is only really considered a 1440p console by MS. There are a couple of games that still run at 4k on it but they are rare and far between.

I always played both consoles. Since atari and coleco vision. Waited years until a price drop most times. When the Playstation 1 dropped I picked it up early. I play games not loyalty to the consoles.
People always shit on Xbox but gamepass is undeniably the most expansive library of games you can have access to. Keep your God of War and Last of Us exclusives, we've got much more 😁 But truly - aside from Starfield, gamepass has so many indie games that I would never even heard of if not in their library. In fact, so many that's its actually overwhelming to sift through, adding so many to "play later" that I know I won't be able to get to for months.
The best version is on someone's pc not mine. I could spend more money on a graphics card upgrade for my PC to get it up to spec than I'd spend buying the Xbox and Starfield may still run like crap because of a 1000 other reasons. I'll just buy the box it's 100% going to be optimised for and play from the comfort of my sofa on a big ass TV and if anyone else thinks that sounds just awful then more power to them 🦆
We actually have a pretty expensive PC for video editing - but it still looks dicey with Starfields specs. PC gaming is just not for me so Xbox it is 😭

Ps5 (I own) players will miss out. However, don’t buy an XBOX when the PC gives you it all and more. Bethesda games are all about the Mods anyway. PC is where those shine.
Literally about to get back into gaming and have no idea what to do! Loved fallout 3 and 4! Not had an Xbox since the 360 and don't have a ps5! And the exclusives don't jump at me! Do I just do it for starfield?
It might just be worth the PC investment. I get it, consoles are easy to move, easy to setup and cheaper and you get your "x exclusive game here", but PC players don't have to worry so much about stuff like that. PC gets many of these same titles eventually without (in the case of Starfield) mod and frame limitations. Assuming, of course, your build is decent. You can also do other non-gaming related things like work and the such. Performance and flexibility is enough worth it to me.
you can build a pc relatively cheap compared to a year ago as well. A lot of used market GPU's that would get you a xbox x or ps5 like experience not to mention all the emulation you can do for every old console you can think of and the switch.
I'm genuinely surprised to hear you say that you're a lifelong Bethesda fan (like myself) and you didn't mention PC. I know it's a bit more of an investment, but PC is absolutely the way to play a Bethesda game. Their games are amazing to begin with and I don't need to sell you on that. But on PC, the MODS...omg the MODS can just absolutely transform experiences with Bethesda games into just the craziest stuff you can imagine. There's tons of QoL kind of stuff to help iron out the very common Bethesda bugs and weird mechanics, but there's also just incredible stuff that can enhance the game or build up the experience if you still want a mostly vanilla play through or there's complete transformations that range from massive full length stories in their own right to surreal and otherworldly experiences. The Bethesda mod community is comprised of people who love Bethesda games as much as you and I, quirks and all, and it really shows. That said, if someone is still committed to the Xbox, I'd still recommend the Series X over the Series S regardless of your taste on performance because the disc drive combined with backwards compatibility lets you play OG Xbox all the way to present Xbox games on disc. There are a number of OG Xbox and Xbox 360 games that are not available digitally and access to the disc drive makes it possible to play some of these gems! It drives me up a wall that Sony supported basically EVERYTHING with the PS3, which I still think is the best system they ever made, to being so limited with the PS4. On my PS3 I could play every modern and legacy format that could fit into the damn machine!! I could play CDs (yes I still have those) but I could play blu-ray movies and DVD. I could play PS1, PS2, and PS3 games! You could ever play Super Audio CD, a short-lived, but very awesome format for physical media in the music space. You could even play MP3-CDs. But then the PS4 rolled around. It can only play PS4, DVD, and Bluray. That's it. Everything else? Forget it. Screw you. Get with the times man. What are you a grandpa? Seriously, the amount of hate I got from new PS4 owners was UNREAL. I actually didn't buy the system for years because of the toxic community behavior. Sony told them to forget about legacy media and legacy support period (even in digital) and everyone just rolled with it. Only now with PS5 are we starting to see a lot more support having been built back up for legacy, but it's only digital and it's half baked. I have a mountain of legacy media that won't play on the Sony ecosystem, but I have a mountain of legacy media for Xbox and PC that will. I still consider myself a Playstation fan, but my oh my was there a departure with the release of PS4 that the Sony ecosystem has never fully recovered from.
Poor baby. If i wanted to play God of war, i would have to buy a Play Station. So What. Sony was the company that started the Exclusives. I didnt like play station due to how they used to do Destiny. It would have content that would take a year before it would be on Xbox., and i was not going to spend the extra money to buy a play station. Since i have had both xbox and play Station in the past. And i have liked the Xbox way of online vs Sony's online.
It's kinda funny Sony is now seen by some as the big bad harbinger of exclusive games. Exclusives definitely existed before Playstation - and for the last 15 years I've been hearing non Playstation gamers constantly trying to convince themselves the Playstation lineup wasn't worth missing. It's only with Xbox's first party collapse over the last few years this has suddenly become such a huge issue

Sony has been using Exclusives as a way to run all over other companies. This is a Bigger problem. This is not the way to do things for your clients. If they were in it to make things better for there clients then things would not have gone this way. I dont have a problem with Sony. From my own experience i just found that i dont like how they do business. And no Xbox has not collapsed, over first party. They do not want to this practice anymore. It is not good for the public.

@@UglySofaGaming Dude no, Sony has ALWAYS been seen as using 3rd party exclusives as a bludgeon against their competitors in consoles, dating back to when PS1 released and they did it to Sega. The big problem for Sony is that the Epic V Apple, and FTC V MS/ABK court documents have revealed just how bad the Sony contracts have been and their absolute abuse of market position. Want to have crossplay? Here's a Sony tax! Want to release on Xbox after the exclusive period? We have to agree to it (this is literally the case in some of the revealed contracts, Sony has the right to extend the exclusivity deal on the same conditions unilateral) and you can't go on gamepass without our permission! Oh and no you're too small for 70/30 we want at least 60/40... And that came out from just 2! of the contracts that came out. Added to that everything Sony and the FTC tried to claim MS would do Sony already does, and they have a monopolistic market share. This has literally caused the US Senate and Congress to start asking why the FTC hasn't investigated Sony already as a monopoly.
Let me get this right, you love Bethesda games but you're a Playstation purist? Knowing that Bethesda games are designed to be played with mods and that Sony keeps on telling you how to play your own games, how does that make you feel? Your brand loyalty is misplaced! Bethesda games started out their own individual lives on PC. Then when Microsoft got into the console building market, Bethesda games were also on Xbox. It took until the XB1 for the mod system to be implemented but when they were, it showed us all on Xbox how much more the games by Bethesda were when coupled with the mods of your own choosing. You should see what the mods look like on PC though. I have a tidy PC for my modding of Fallout and TES games and an XSS for my Gamepass needs. So, after all the failings of Playstation over the years, why are you still allowing them to dictate how you play your own games? If you love BGS games so much, just buy an Xbox. Brand loyalty is something we cannot afford in the UK. Gamepass is amazing value for money whereas Playstation just wants to charge you more, for much less. Sell your PS5 and get the XSX or save some cash and go for the XSS, but you won't be disappointed, whichever one you choose.
It's the same thing PlayStation is doing right now, we used to get Final Fantasy games on Xbox but now we don't even know whether it will be possible to play future Final Fantasy games on Xbox.

I would have to agree both have good games coming. Been a long time since the ps3 360 Era. Boy that was the time to play full games write there. Micro transactions are a bit of a downer with these newer games. Instead of earning things through achievement/trophies all you have to do is buy stuff. It doesn't make a statement like it used to.
Your not being forced. If you have to buy an XB then a 4k TV, you could just build a gaming PC for the same amount. Get game GamePass and an XB Controller. Hell, I play PS & XB on PC these days and you can too. I wasn't FORCED to buy a console.
I obviously already own a TV. A PC is going to be more expensive than a Series S no matter how much creative accounting we employ. X box was a stumbling block to gaming that everyone tripped over. When the Nintendo came out it ushered in a new era of gaming. The Sega Genesis did it's own thing. Every system brought something new and evolved gaming. The N64, and the PSX. Gaming was going well. The PlayStation did really well and we got the PS2, a clear chain of evolution. Then came the X box, a clone of the PlayStation. It wasn't it's own thing, it didn't evolve gaming, it was basically just a playstation that looked different marketed to different people. Ever since, gaming has been about playstation and x box, neither of them evolving into something new because they're worried the other will be successful by just doing the tried and true routine. Worried about what the other is doing instead of how to evolve themselves. Have yall not noticed since the PS2, the newer consoles have no longer been truly next gen? They're just beefed up versions of whichever ones that came before them. Now a whole 20 years later it's the same stuff, they literally have the same games. The only difference is who gets an exclusive license here or there. If it wasn't for Xbox coming out and people buying it in the first place years ago, we'd just have one console that all developers made games for instead of 2 consoles battling over exclusives of the exact same style of games. So now developers don't have to compete with each other as much as they would if they were all fighting for time on a single platform. They both (Xbox&PS) have such a grasp on the gaming community that neither will change up for fear of the other running away with the prize if it fails. But, they didn't force it this way. Neither side forces us to do anything. They pimped us. And still are. There is the illusion of the competition between the two being a good thing but the competition is minimal. They're the same systems with a few exclusives. We need a whole new "thing" for those 2 to have to truly compete with, otherwise they'll "Madden" us to death. Bringing us the same crap year after year with the graphics updated a little.

I still have an Xbox one. I'm looking forward to playing starfield on PC. Microsoft kinda made xbox irrelevant for me once they put the gamepass on PC. Also you don't have to be limited by frames.
In a way Microsoft helped you make their game library better for you and their games better because your on pc. I want to convert to a pc eventually but I don't have the money. I'm on the series x currently.

@@CRIMSON-FLAME1You can go on places like Alienware and get a PC for about $50 to $60 a month. It's not ideal but it works and have the ability to upgrade as well. Once you get started, you can start looking into building.
As a lifelong Sony fan who’s never owned an Xbox, I’m debating buying the Series X or a Moderate PC that can play it. I take it you have never modded Bethesda games on pc?
I tried it with Oblivion and found it was more trouble than it's worth for me. Lost a whole Saturday fiddling and gained a giant headache. Base games enough for me
@@UglySofaGaming yes modding Oblivion isn’t popular for that reason. Skyrim and New Vegas are still supported to this day in the modding community. You may be missing out on that feeling of playing the game for the first time again! 😊

And before you call me a Sony pony I predominantly play Xbox for first person shooters. However, I have a full 3080 in my pretty high tier PC, PlayStation five and Xbox series X.
I purchased a gaming laptop computer so that I can play game on PC in supplement to my gaming on the Switch. It's a worthwhile investment to get a pc because I'm able to use it to do work along with playing 3rd party games that do not come to the Switch. And you can bet, I will purchase Starfield on my PC so that I can play it. Though it is a little more expensive, the return is worth it. I get use my PC for other things besides gaming.

@@UglySofaGaming You can literally buy Xbox Game Pass for 1 dollar when Starfield releases and play on your existing PC or any device with a browser. No need to get a separate console.
I don't know how game streaming is in the US but I know it's not without its issues. The UK internet infrastructure is a lot worse and for me game stream performance has always been unplayable. I don't mean "oh nooo 30 FPS hurts my eyes" I mean literally performing like a slide show and crashing. I also find the weird assumption so many PC gamers have that every household has a PC capable of playing the latest modern games just plain delusional. PC can either be the enthusiast platform or the accessible one, not both. Xbox Series S is £240. I'll be continuing with that option.

the reason why I bought a Xbox series s is so I can play some classic Xbox 360 games and Bethesda games it does suck that starfield is not coming to ps5 and you can't play fallout 3 and new vegas on ps4 or ps5 just ps3

I do think Bethesda and Xbox have always been the closest partners, so it wasn't that much of a surprise they ended up together. I believe Starfield will be colossal. And always hit me up for Game Pass recommendations, I play a whole lot of indies on there. craz
And it would still be on PlayStation if they hadn't tried making it exclusive... They tried bullying someone able to flex and have to now face the consequences... Ironic consequence of exclusivity is the game should even be less buggy day 1 even if the console is worse, the game won't be bad, but it will be buggy I expect, which is why I'll pick it up later rather than sooner.

I was thinking of doing the same thing as you in buying a searies S. I still have a Ps4 so it would be a small upgrade for me. One thought I had was that X box may keep it exclusive for one to two year's then allow starfield to be sold on Playstation.

People are asphyxiated on Xbox versus PlayStation battle however, the real talking points should be what buying Bethesda means for Xbox. If you were paying attention, you know that PlayStation Sony was trying to acquire exclusivity to the next Bethesda released game i.e. star field for a couple of months to a year then they were going to release it to all platforms. This would have left Xbox destroyed, devastated. Buying Bethesda studios was a must have to be completely honest with you. I wouldn’t be surprised if the deal going on with Sony and Bethesda was just a large ploy to get Xbox to jump in allocate resources that they can’t put towards something else. If you remember, Xbox has always been the red headed step child for Microsoft and I can’t imagine that they’re willing to continue to buy studios at this rate and push resources to such a small division and such a large company, especially with AI and virtual reality just around the corner

Thank xbox for bringing Bethesda games to console. Microsoft convinced Bethesda to launch Morrowind on the og xbox at the time developers didn't think it was possible to have a pc game run in console but eventually they port Morrowind to the OG Xbox and Bethesda saw great success and when Oblivion came out it launched on the Xbox360 and eventually ps3 a year later. Growing up we had gamecube xbox and ps2 and a PC. Spend hundreds of hours playing StarCraft on PC and Morrowind on xbox. Ps2 got played the leats inthe house. Gamecube and xbox got alnost equal amount of play because they have 4 controller port and it was me and my 3 other brothers. We olaued alot of halo and mario double dash and smash bross.
Playstation did the same thing with Ghost of Tsushima to me. Otherwise I wouldn't have bought it.💚

@@syminite1 Actually this is the power of GAMEPASS. You can have both. If you feel like chillin on the couch and playing on your Xbox, go for it. If you're at your computer, you can boot up your same account and take over where you left off with your cloud save and play on PC for a bit. You can go back and forth this way.
I did exactly that with High on Life. It was the perfect game to play in lazy little bursts. I played on the couch for a bit, then someone want to watch TV so I played on the PC for a bit and so on. It was fun.

Microsoft THEMSELVES encouraged people to buy PC's to play their games and to get game pass, incase you been under a rock lately majority of Xbox game pass subs are PC owners, not consoles owners and this came DIRECTLY from Mircosoft THEMSELVES. Phil Spencer said that Game Pass subscriptions was growing INCREDIBLY on PC, but slowing down on consoles because everybody on console that wants to subscribe are already subscribed to game pass. Mircosoft had told use for years now they don't care about the console space and you people STILL go hard for the console. Mircosoft are in the gaming community to get enough subscribers to go full on streaming. This has been a rumor for years now, and after the FTC vs Mircosoft hearing with the emails that was exposed we know for SURE! that Mircosoft/Xbox will be out of the console space soon

I think it mostly comes down to economics. A lot of people truly can't afford both and instead of acknowledging that they may have bought a system that doesn't fully meet their needs (or wants) they'd rather resort to behavior that destroys "the other side". The advantage to buying a series x over series s also lies in the backward compatibility lineup. There are a ton of older games that got an upgrade only available on the Series X and One X consoles. That remaster of Red Dead Redemption that everyone wanted for a decade. Microsoft upgraded it themselves. Same with Ninja Gaiden Black and Ninja Gaiden 2, Panzer Dragoon Zewi, and many more titles. It's amazing to load up an older game and realize Microsoft did a free 4K HDR remaster that is not available any where else. The upgrade to these games are not available on the Series S though.

Series S plays all the back compatibles and every game the Series X plays. The One X doesn't any next gen only games. Only the Series S and X do.
@gawdtheblessedone4681 you miss understood him. What he is trying to say on series X many of those backward compatible games got boosted. For example finally fantasy 13 is 4k and 13-2 and 13 lighting returns are 4k 60fps. They damn near look like remasters. If the boost for some older titles is important to you than the upgrade is worth it.

In 2009 I got an Xbox 360 and I was able to play many great games on it. But when "the Last of Us" came out exclusively on the Playstation, I bought a PS4 and played many other great games on it as well. Unfortunately I couldn't get my hands on a PS5 in recent years and when I heard that Bethesda Game Studios had been bought by Microsoft, I didn't hesitate for a second and bought an Xbox series X because I love Bethesda's games very much and the music from those games. When I heard the music of Skyrim at 1:20 I got goosebumps again as usual. What great music!

If you want to fully exploit backwards compat mode go with the X, even if it means just asking for money towards it.
The main reason being cheap second hand discs are almost always cheaper on ebay or at game fairs. Added to that backcompat doesn't care about disc regions, just that it's a genuine disc you slot in.
You can quickly get a nice game collection going on disc saving more than the extra cost for the X.

@@UglySofaGaming 4k upscalling yeah as the S is only really considered a 1440p console by MS. There are a couple of games that still run at 4k on it but they are rare and far between.

But truly - aside from Starfield, gamepass has so many indie games that I would never even heard of if not in their library. In fact, so many that's its actually overwhelming to sift through, adding so many to "play later" that I know I won't be able to get to for months.

It might just be worth the PC investment. I get it, consoles are easy to move, easy to setup and cheaper and you get your "x exclusive game here", but PC players don't have to worry so much about stuff like that. PC gets many of these same titles eventually without (in the case of Starfield) mod and frame limitations. Assuming, of course, your build is decent. You can also do other non-gaming related things like work and the such. Performance and flexibility is enough worth it to me.
you can build a pc relatively cheap compared to a year ago as well. A lot of used market GPU's that would get you a xbox x or ps5 like experience not to mention all the emulation you can do for every old console you can think of and the switch.
I'm genuinely surprised to hear you say that you're a lifelong Bethesda fan (like myself) and you didn't mention PC. I know it's a bit more of an investment, but PC is absolutely the way to play a Bethesda game. Their games are amazing to begin with and I don't need to sell you on that. But on PC, the MODS...omg the MODS can just absolutely transform experiences with Bethesda games into just the craziest stuff you can imagine. There's tons of QoL kind of stuff to help iron out the very common Bethesda bugs and weird mechanics, but there's also just incredible stuff that can enhance the game or build up the experience if you still want a mostly vanilla play through or there's complete transformations that range from massive full length stories in their own right to surreal and otherworldly experiences. The Bethesda mod community is comprised of people who love Bethesda games as much as you and I, quirks and all, and it really shows.
That said, if someone is still committed to the Xbox, I'd still recommend the Series X over the Series S regardless of your taste on performance because the disc drive combined with backwards compatibility lets you play OG Xbox all the way to present Xbox games on disc. There are a number of OG Xbox and Xbox 360 games that are not available digitally and access to the disc drive makes it possible to play some of these gems!
It drives me up a wall that Sony supported basically EVERYTHING with the PS3, which I still think is the best system they ever made, to being so limited with the PS4. On my PS3 I could play every modern and legacy format that could fit into the damn machine!! I could play CDs (yes I still have those) but I could play blu-ray movies and DVD. I could play PS1, PS2, and PS3 games! You could ever play Super Audio CD, a short-lived, but very awesome format for physical media in the music space. You could even play MP3-CDs. But then the PS4 rolled around. It can only play PS4, DVD, and Bluray. That's it. Everything else? Forget it. Screw you. Get with the times man. What are you a grandpa? Seriously, the amount of hate I got from new PS4 owners was UNREAL. I actually didn't buy the system for years because of the toxic community behavior. Sony told them to forget about legacy media and legacy support period (even in digital) and everyone just rolled with it. Only now with PS5 are we starting to see a lot more support having been built back up for legacy, but it's only digital and it's half baked. I have a mountain of legacy media that won't play on the Sony ecosystem, but I have a mountain of legacy media for Xbox and PC that will.
I still consider myself a Playstation fan, but my oh my was there a departure with the release of PS4 that the Sony ecosystem has never fully recovered from.
Poor baby. If i wanted to play God of war, i would have to buy a Play Station. So What. Sony was the company that started the Exclusives. I didnt like play station due to how they used to do Destiny. It would have content that would take a year before it would be on Xbox., and i was not going to spend the extra money to buy a play station. Since i have had both xbox and play Station in the past. And i have liked the Xbox way of online vs Sony's online.
It's kinda funny Sony is now seen by some as the big bad harbinger of exclusive games. Exclusives definitely existed before Playstation - and for the last 15 years I've been hearing non Playstation gamers constantly trying to convince themselves the Playstation lineup wasn't worth missing. If they were in it to make things better for there clients then things would not have gone this way. I dont have a problem with Sony. The big problem for Sony is that the Epic V Apple, and FTC V MS/ABK court documents have revealed just how bad the Sony contracts have been and their absolute abuse of market position.

Want to release on Xbox after the exclusive period? We have to agree to it (this is literally the case in some of the revealed contracts, Sony has the right to extend the exclusivity deal on the same conditions unilateral) and you can't go on gamepass without our permission!

And that came out from just 2! of the contracts that came out.
Added to that everything Sony and the FTC tried to claim MS would do Sony already does, and they have a monopolistic market share. This has literally caused the US Senate and Congress to start asking why the FTC hasn't investigated Sony already as a monopoly.

Let me get this right, you love Bethesda games but you're a Playstation purist? Knowing that Bethesda games are designed to be played with mods and that Sony keeps on telling you how to play your own games, how does that make you feel? Your brand loyalty is misplaced! Bethesda games started out their own individual lives on PC. Then when Microsoft got into the console building market, Bethesda games were also on Xbox. It took until the XB1 for the mod system to be implemented but when they were, it showed us all on Xbox how much more the games by Bethesda were when coupled with the mods of your own choosing. You should see what the mods look like on PC though. I have a tidy PC for my modding of Fallout and TES games and an XSS for my Gamepass needs. So, after all the failings of Playstation over the years, why are you still allowing them to dictate how you play your own games? If you love BGS games so much, just buy an Xbox. Brand loyalty is something we cannot afford in the UK. Gamepass is amazing value for money whereas Playstation just wants to charge you more, for much less. Sell your PS5 and get the XSX or save some cash and go for the XSS, but you won't be disappointed, whichever one you choose.
Get both. One to travel with....one to keep at home

It's the same thing PlayStation is doing right now, we used to get Final Fantasy games on Xbox but now we don't even know whether it will be possible to play future Final Fantasy games on Xbox.
I was shocked when I knew MS bought Bethesda, I was so happy because I knew I won't have to buy playstation to play my favorite games from my favorite developer, Sony was planning to make starfield exclusive, so thank you Microsoft.
EXACTLY! PS people mad about an Xbox exclusive but Sony has been "buying" exclusive content for dang near 2 decades. I'm against monopolies in general but they have no room to be upset over this. The Ghost of Tsushima/The Last of Us/God of War/Final Fantasy/Gran Turismo/Uncharted .... All big name games and all I would have liked to play.

This generation feels like the ps3 xbox 360 era where you need both platforms in my opinion.
I would have to agree both have good games coming. Been a long time since the ps3 360 Era. Boy that was the time to play full games write there. Micro transactions are a bit of a downer with these newer games. Instead of earning things through achievement/trophies all you have to do is buy stuff. It doesn't make a statement like it used to.

Your not being forced. If you have to buy an XB then a 4k TV, you could just build a gaming PC for the same amount. Get game GamePass and an XB Controller. Hell, I play PS & XB on PC these days and you can too. I wasn't FORCED to buy a console.
I obviously already own a TV. A PC is going to be more expensive than a Series S no matter how much creative accounting we employ.

Bethesda games maybe aren't for everyone there's certain jank you have to accept lol but come on Starfield, Skyrim in Space, is bare minimum going to be a big tent pole game enjoyed for years unless Bethesda poops the bed like never before

X box was a stumbling block to gaming that everyone tripped over.
When the Nintendo came out it ushered in a new era of gaming. The Sega Genesis did it's own thing. Every system brought something new and evolved gaming. The N64, and the PSX. Gaming was going well. The PlayStation did really well and we got the PS2, a clear chain of evolution. Then came the X box, a clone of the PlayStation. It wasn't it's own thing, it didn't evolve gaming, it was basically just a playstation that looked different marketed to different people. Ever since, gaming has been about playstation and x box, neither of them evolving into something new because they're worried the other will be successful by just doing the tried and true routine. Worried about what the other is doing instead of how to evolve themselves.
Have yall not noticed since the PS2, the newer consoles have no longer been truly next gen? They're just beefed up versions of whichever ones that came before them. Now a whole 20 years later it's the same stuff, they literally have the same games. The only difference is who gets an exclusive license here or there. If it wasn't for Xbox coming out and people buying it in the first place years ago, we'd just have one console that all developers made games for instead of 2 consoles battling over exclusives of the exact same style of games. So now developers don't have to compete with each other as much as they would if they were all fighting for time on a single platform. They both (Xbox&PS) have such a grasp on the gaming community that neither will change up for fear of the other running away with the prize if it fails. But, they didn't force it this way. Neither side forces us to do anything. They pimped us. And still are. There is the illusion of the competition between the two being a good thing but the competition is minimal. They're the same systems with a few exclusives. We need a whole new "thing" for those 2 to have to truly compete with, otherwise they'll "Madden" us to death. Bringing us the same crap year after year with the graphics updated a little.

I still have an Xbox one. I'm looking forward to playing starfield on PC. Microsoft kinda made xbox irrelevant for me once they put the gamepass on PC. Also you don't have to be limited by frames.

@@CRIMSON-FLAME1You can go on places like Alienware and get a PC for about $50 to $60 a month. It's not ideal but it works and have the ability to upgrade as well. Once you get started, you can start looking into building.
As a lifelong Sony fan who’s never owned an Xbox, I’m debating buying the Series X or a Moderate PC that can play it. I take it you have never modded Bethesda games on pc?
I tried it with Oblivion and found it was more trouble than it's worth for me. Lost a whole Saturday fiddling and gained a giant headache. Base games enough for me
@@UglySofaGaming yes modding Oblivion isn’t popular for that reason. Skyrim and New Vegas are still supported to this day in the modding community. You may be missing out on that feeling of playing the game for the first time again! 😊
For what it's worth I do think modding will come to the Xbox version of Starfield too with a little patience.

I purchased a gaming laptop computer so that I can play game on PC in supplement to my gaming on the Switch. It's a worthwhile investment to get a pc because I'm able to use it to do work along with playing 3rd party games that do not come to the Switch. And you can bet, I will purchase Starfield on my PC so that I can play it. Though it is a little more expensive, the return is worth it. I get use my PC for other things besides gaming.

I don't know how game streaming is in the US but I know it's not without its issues. The UK internet infrastructure is a lot worse and for me game stream performance has always been unplayable. I don't mean "oh nooo 30 FPS hurts my eyes" I mean literally performing like a slide show and crashing.
I also find the weird assumption so many PC gamers have that every household has a PC capable of playing the latest modern games just plain delusional. PC can either be the enthusiast platform or the accessible one, not both.
Xbox Series S is £240. I'll be continuing with that option.

the reason why I bought a Xbox series s is so I can play some classic Xbox 360 games and Bethesda games it does suck that starfield is not coming to ps5 and you can't play fallout 3 and new vegas on ps4 or ps5 just ps3

I do think Bethesda and Xbox have always been the closest partners, so it wasn't that much of a surprise they ended up together. I believe Starfield will be colossal. And it would still be on PlayStation if they hadn't tried making it exclusive... They tried bullying someone able to flex and have to now face the consequences... Ironic consequence of exclusivity is the game should even be less buggy day 1 even if the console is worse, the game won't be bad, but it will be buggy I expect, which is why I'll pick it up later rather than sooner.

Bro I sold my serise x after phills "great games don't matter rant" I'm just gonna try the game on gamepass if it's God ill get another serise x but right now im not hype...nor do I gave time to sit at a TV to play any of my system so I end up playing a shit ton of switch on the go. Serise x was my fist xbox console I had no big digital library l, 7 physical games and was a game pass subscriber...after 2 years of gamepass offerings that I already owed on my pc ,ps4 and ps5,and switch, half baked offerings, false advertising the power, and only really playing my Xbox via console streaming. Phil's comments were just a revelation that their consol isn't the focus and I felt it as a new xbox owned...I only purchased the console cuz Bethesda would be exclusive but Bethesda will also be on game pass so I sold my console to game stop after 2 years of use and got every red cent I paid for it and it's games....truthfully it's was no loss to me and if u feel like getting another it's not like I can't walk into Walmart and buy one lol ...not extremely ppl sell shit they don't use all the time and no one judging them but OK my if u are trigger I'm sorry...I don't want to get canceled lol
I was thinking of doing the same thing as you in buying a searies S. I still have a Ps4 so it would be a small upgrade for me. One thought I had was that X box may keep it exclusive for one to two year's then allow starfield to be sold on Playstation.

People are asphyxiated on Xbox versus PlayStation battle however, the real talking points should be what buying Bethesda means for Xbox. If you were paying attention, you know that PlayStation Sony was trying to acquire exclusivity to the next Bethesda released game i.e. star field for a couple of months to a year then they were going to release it to all platforms. This would have left Xbox destroyed, devastated. Buying Bethesda studios was a must have to be completely honest with you. I wouldn’t be surprised if the deal going on with Sony and Bethesda was just a large ploy to get Xbox to jump in allocate resources that they can’t put towards something else. If you remember, Xbox has always been the red headed step child for Microsoft and I can’t imagine that they’re willing to continue to buy studios at this rate and push resources to such a small division and such a large company, especially with AI and virtual reality just around the corner

Your statement makes about as much sense as saying you are betraying Ford if you drive a Chevy. No corporation deserves that much loyalty.
