For anyone curious - yes, this should've been an easy win for black. However black's ai was downrated a bunch (hence the level -5 at the top left). The evaluation bar isn't affected by this, which is why it thought black was in favour despite how many terrible moves black made.
Eval bar is working as it should because the eval bar doesn’t rate how good the players moves are but just who is better off purely looking at the state of the game not the players moves
At first I was saying "this ain't no stockfish level 5", and then I realized that wasn't a dash, it was a minus sign. I didn't know there was such a thing as stockfish level MINUS 5.
I was a bit shocked on how white won but then I realized the pawns for black couldn't move unless knights move so maybe the wasted move for blacks knights won white the game
At the same time, the Knights could have just taken every pawn 1 for 1 so you end up white without pawns but developed pieces and black mostly undeveloped but with most a full set of pawns and pieces.
Stockfish should have sacked more knights early because it thinks that knights are worth more than they are in this case also how come if the elo from stockfish says that stockfish is winning on black, how does it change?
Stockfish is bad at analyzing posistions like this, black should just sack knoghts for pawns and win with the extra material but stcokfish thinks the knights are worth so much more than the pawns that it refuses to make the necessary clearance for its pieces. So, it looks at the posistion at the game start, sees its up a whole load of material and correctly concludes that it is winning, but then lets white get into a dominant posistion that he can never recover from
@@hugsforthehomies No. It just shows that stockfish doesn't bulid to play this kind of positions and xan play pretty weird and bad moves if the position is extremely not normal and not balanced. At least for a weak engine
@@PreservationEnthusiast Even so it is 8 extra knights. That is 24 points of material. I put this into the engine and played against stockfish on it's strongest setting and crushed it up 8 knights. All you gotta do is trade those knights and get at least something for some of them. Get a pawn or two or a minor for one and you are good. It's not hard.
@@PreservationEnthusiast I just tried it... On move 57 I delivered checkmate vs hardest stockfish. I took no more than 5 seconds on any move. The material I had left was: 8 pawns, 3 knights a bishop and a queen. The engine had nothing, and was mated , and I was playing fast and loose.
@@franklinturtle9849 Yes, that's what makes me think Black was set down some levels. As a 2000 rated player, I'd even beat Magnus with 8 knights extra. It's almost 3 queens! Just get them in close, fork stuff and trade down.
@@franklinturtle9849 I had to try it too and I fared much worse than you lol, I traded down everything (very happy to make the Queen trade to avoid sneaky Mates) and ended up with Knight Bishop Rook vs. Rook, I ended up trading both my Knight AND my Rook for their Rook, and of course still won because I was up 4 pawns to 1
I have rating about 1600 on Lichess and decided to play against top AI I can find and launch on my PC having handicap advantage (and possible non-standard positions like additional pawns). What program can understand this situation better? I mean: 1) Assume that opponent is weaker player and not likely to find best moves. 2) Avoid trading pieces. For example if I have advantage of queen and opponent has almost all pieces, there is chance that I will lose, and if opponent has only few pawns, I will definately win.

It may refference that black is 5 version lower than the used one, so a lvl 15 vs a 10 forexample
The first two moves for black show that this stock fish is like 100 FIDE

Yeah, I'm not sure if this is actually Stockfish, my elo is 800 and I saw many hanging pieces throughout that game.

Its cuz white is stockfish 14 and black is stockfish 5
And black not trading pieces early up 8 knights hurt quite a bit too lol

The Stockfish AI were playing on different levels. Of course the 8 extra knights should win easily. But many blunders were made by Black.
