No, it was one guy that fell for it 347,000 times

Great video. Good pace, well organized, no extra dialogue, no gimmicks, just clear informative chess instruction. UA-cam needs more people like you.

  • @alancoe1002

Thanks especially for being concise, yet reviewing what we're trying to do. This response to the Fried is way more dynamic than the Na5 that I normally play. Thanks.

  • @marcus8036

I’m 1300 and I see this every other game as black it feels like, thank you for this

  • @BobChess

This is very powerful opening! Most Fried Livers only learn the main lines and the trap line, so if you throw this opening right on their face, they'll not able to remove it out of their face!

  • @WatchTower71

I’m a big of GothamChess, but when he tried to explain this theory, he’s trying to dramatize the whole video and we end up not really absorbing information as much as videos like this. Thank you for being straight to the point!!

Sure enough, about 2 hours after watching this video, I had a chance to counter this attack. The knight went for my Kb7 pawn, I advanced the queen, they blocked their King in with their Rook and Bishop, I landed a smother mate. Victory never felt so awesome, thanks a bunch!

  • @RaghavBabbar

i am a beginner (450 rated) and i still see this once every 3-4 games as black, and this will surely be helpful, thanks!

  • @joelpenley9791

I love this opening and playing both sides because there are so many ways to play it.

  • @alexb8833

Hey Nelson, this is the first opening trap I’ve really committed to learn as a relative beginner and it is so good! It’s something I can actually play and it’s generally really effective, it almost feels cheap. So thank you! Love the rest of your content too.

  • @ElinRaden

I've seen this so many times and always struggled with it. I always got out of the forking threat but this is a much more elegant solution to the problem! 👍️

  • @francocatanzaro96

    You have to know this

  • @learningisfun2108

Great lesson. Watched it twice and played it out over the board to try and remember the tactics. Thanks Nelson.

  • @BenPearson_kd7uiy

Just played this for the first time as an 1100 player. Is certainly a lot of fun, I'm going to have to keep doing this, thanks!

  • @chadgeri

I usually just play the bishop before the knight so I can castle if they move their knight up for the fork. But this is much better! Looking forward to trying it out!

Thank you! What about other white options after d6 Q:d6 K:f7 Qc6?

  • @roblodocus2539

The traxler was the first opening I really studied and it’s still one of my favourites. But these look like so much fun, I might have to rotate the traxler out for a while to try these out!
