Yeah I wouldn't called him underrated. Check his project. They are both really chill people to...meet them at a show in like 2010 at a small venue in my home town and they hanged out with everybody out side the bar just having convo.
After a couple of years of studying Tosin I feel like I’ve at least got his head bob down when thumping. Now that that’s been mastered I can finally move on to the actual playing 🤪
Both unbelievable individually, and mindblowing together. I agree, give Javier's band Mestis some love too, we recently saw them live with Plini, and it was outstanding. I'm listening to Mestis all the time, and it's mellower in general but still all kinds of 8 string goodness. So good to listen to this. Great vid
I'm surprised this band still together in today's age its impossible to even start a band.... I cant even find a reliable triangle player to show up once a week to practice wtf?!
Agathzot Stratoverse sounds similar, but that is very distinctly the melody and rhythm of Forty Six & 2. Home has the same chords and notes it seems, but arranged differently
Always found it pretty funny that he is like completely incompetent in a blues scenario, there’s a video of him doing some clinic with Guthrie and another guy and they Jam on some blues stuff and Tosin looks so lost
Oof that's is so good! love this band so much. Absolute prog gods with top notch pickups :D I hope one day I will get me some Fishman Fluences on my 6, 7 and 8 string guitar..
These videos can be dreading. It's too much product placement, mention this mention that.. and have an interviewer not forgetting to read the spec sheet. Tosin and Javier looks really tense cause they have to be that serious about it.
Somewhat off topic but does anyone know what happened to Abasi Concepts? I feel like they just vanished, no updates, no one seems to have one of their guitars yet (since they fired that one guy). I sent an email and got no response either.
Brett Bock they disappeared for a bit but I feel the opposite now, like they’ve added some killer artists to their roster (Stephen Taranto, justus west, roompam garg) and seem to have a decent presence at stuff like NAMM. I feel like I haven’t seen many customers get their hands on them, so that does seem a little weird.
Many many moons ago I met Ken at a show in Lexington KY. He hung out with a bunch of us after the show for like an hour just chatting about random stuff. Happened again in Louisville a few times. A genuinely super nice guy. But watching him sit here all stiff looking at the monitors or staring into the nothingness is a bit awkward. Never met the AAL guys and their music isn’t really my taste but I appreciate what they bring to music. I completely forgot about Reflux. Sorry Tosin. I recently purchased an 8 string and I’m slowly working on adjusting to having an 8th string. Curious on what string gauge these guys are using to reduce the fluba buba on the low end? Cool video. Thanks YT for the recommendation.
Yeah i got to meet aal at a dive bar ine charleston back when navine was still thier drummer. Tosin was cool, but i smoked with javier and navine and javier let me mess around on his 8 string to mess around on while we talked about a lauren hill show that was coming soon.
that being said, watching Tosin go through how he specified all the configurations and construction of his pickup system, you can get whatever you want. He's built modes into his guitars (and is sporting the gold top, hell yes) that are not only tailored for his particular use cases but is versatile enough in tones and management that I've thought of getting one just to have based on all the unique and uniquely useful features/configs built into the units.
I'm a bit late, but I have the strat battery pack on my RG655 and the screw holes and everything line up perfectly. The universal battery pack also looks small enough to fit in a traditional electronics cavity
@@mikedervos5974 which Fluence are you talking about. Their is the Fluence classic and modern. Tosins are more like the modern. Alot brighter and higher output. Also the split tones are insane
Javier is so underrated. Amazing guitar player.
Funny, I think he's a bit overrated actually. Just plays some jazzy chords in progressive sequences. Not that special imo
@@genustinca5565 he's classically trained and better at that style of playing than tosin...
@@genustinca5565 Listen to him play some classical stuff, he's a beast. Underrated tho? Nah, used to be unkown maybe

They are both over rated.

Bruh!! Yes!!
Camera man is a shit head
Wow this is really annoying
Wow. What an epic fuck up. I can't even watch it.
Thank god i can flip my headphone :p
How about we give some love to Javiers side band Mestis as well. They work hard as hell and make great music. Spanish influenced music it sounds like.
And Matt Garska's project with Joshua de la Victoria! Its called Victoria
40:12 confirmed: Abasi is a Cyborg
Check his headbanging when he's playing live
After a couple of years of studying Tosin I feel like I’ve at least got his head bob down when thumping. Now that that’s been mastered I can finally move on to the actual playing 🤪
11:20 Javier's sounds
18:55 Tosin's Sounds
I like how Tosin's face is so surprised by the riffs he plays. It's like "Wow this is amazing, who wrote this?"
Lmao
😀🤣
Damn Javier can grow a beautiful beard.
So can you according to you pic! I'm jealous!
ericwysockihfg Me too the best I could grow is a goatee or circle beard as they call it

Yeah I agree. I wish they would bring back TRAM as well.
Just converted to Fishman after 20 years using passive pickups. Javier’s set sounds great, a nice complement in sound to Tosin’s sound.
Mauricio Sanchez how are they different you think?
I thought they said that Javier's set is coming out on Black Friday

Yellow guitar, palm tree hair? It's confirmed: Tosin is a pineapple
🤯🤕🤯There is so much to take in when watching and listening to Tosin and Javier. How can you accurately describe their music? Phenomenal?
A very awesome stream. Glad that you got to meet them and see them play. :)

No it’s “enter sandman”.
Tosins like that friend that just learned how to sweep pick and never stops doing it. Just chillin, random sweep picking.
I disagree I've heard him be a jazz chord monster before.
Always found it pretty funny that he is like completely incompetent in a blues scenario, there’s a video of him doing some clinic with Guthrie and another guy and they Jam on some blues stuff and Tosin looks so lost
I’ve been playing 46 & 2 lately and Tosin’s just gonna play it too how fun
Can u give the time stamp? would love to see that :)

If Tosin was a hitman he would be like John Wick.
More like John T H I C C
Tosin breaking into a little Forty Six & 2 at 56:29
I recently bought a new Guitar with an Abasi set in it, and I am still not playing like him ... those pickups must be broken.
Anyone think Javier should get a signature abasi guitar model when his esp contract is up?
No lie. Tosin and Javier look like a couple that has been fighting.
Why do you say so?
And as a contingency, I'll go right ahead and r/woosh myself.
Tosin Just didn't seem too excited to be there. At times he was also giving Javier some "looks" while they were discussing his gear.
I don't want them to fight. 😔
Be friends forever guys come on. 😫
Mr. Nonchalant Yeah there does seem to be some kind of atmosphere between them.... 🤔

Always great to watch them jam a bit live together - they have some of the most enjoyable clinics to watch next to people like Devin Townsend lol
Honestly, I really like Javier's pickup sound compared to Tosin's pickups. Very warm and smooth IMO
This tbh
I reversed the panning on my output and it's sublime :)

Ken looks like a young Charlie Sheen!😁
I wish he would’ve also mentioned Javier’s band, Mestís. I’ve been digging their music too.
It took me a half hour to realize that’s Ken Susi from Unearth! 🙂
Javier doesn't miss a note, love ya
When javier and tosin look at each other during ectogenesis like fuck whyd we do this to ourselves 😂

Why the hell does background and middle guy look like they are green screened behind javier and tosin?
This was a great vid but the audio seemed to double or lag during the performances.
Tosin is like "Where's the fucking camera bruh?"
It seems to me alone, this Abasi's guitar damn like Golovin's guitar...
