Washing machine filter removes microfibers

Georgian Bay Forever's Amber Gordon-Bunn demonstrates the effectiveness of using a filter to remove microfibers and microplastics from washing your laundry. We can see a month's worth of yuck (fibers, synthetic plastic and natural) and more collected from her family's washing. Georgian Bay Forever (GBF) is using the Filtrol 160 in our "Divert and Capture" project and this model and filter are featured in the video. Amber works for Georgian Bay Forever, a charity that works on the protection of the water (Heather Sargeant is also a GBF employee). Georgian Bay Forever is working on a project to show the effectiveness of washing machine filters in diverting microplastics/fibres from getting into freshwater.
