Thanks for Watching!!!
proud to see the ole tractor running an moving
Time to celebrate with a Busch Lite...Neat to see the old girl move under its own power. The fun will begin with parts swapping LOL
Good to see that tractor moving again! Well done, my friend!
I love the aggression with the PB blaster!!!! Also Ross, I really miss the Colonel phardtpounder commercials! They need to come back. Great stuff.
Nice ol' girl! I spent many hours on the seat of one as a young lad raking and mowing hay. I don't remember the one I drove to have reverse in both ranges. I think it was only in low range. Pain in the butt sometimes to get between ranges. But very nice to see yours run! Great memories!!
You are more than welcome for the new battery. It’s been my pleasure to provide you with all the things for me to watch, General Lee.😂😂
i love this series !
Learned something new about flipping over the battery connector
I wouldn't worry about installing the blocking bolt. You'll soon get fed up with those tip toe rough riding basta### and go back to rubber so you can enjoy the tractor. I always liked my old 70, need to get ambitious and resurrect the old thing. The awesome thing about that smooth running old 70 was that it was super easy on fuel, I could run all day on cultivating 4 row corn on 15 gallons of gas. The motor was stuck when I first got it, beat it loose with a big hammer and run it! Afte a few hours of Marvel mystery oil, the rings freed up and I ran it for years till the oil pressure got so low that I retired it. Wife trouble and working 2 jobs has kept me from doing anything with my toys for decades. Now I'm just doing my farming and as I get rested up a bit, hopefully I can do more with my accumulation of iron!
Nice video Ross,
Ross, nice job 👍 thanks Michael
Good job Ross! You got through all the sadness and came through a winner!
Sounds like an Offenhauser at the Indy 500 ! I buy PB Blaster in gallon cans !
Great job Ross,it almost purrs perfectly
I have a large hord of used belts acquired from past projects, auctions ect. They hung on nails for decades sometimes one would fit something. One fine day I gathered my courage and went against my holding nature and when the used belt in quesion didn't fit I cut it to get the correct measurement and went to town to get a new one. I have never looked back. I now go get a belt the appropriate width cut it to fit for the measurement and buy a new one. Then when I get home I force myself to throw the old peice away 😢😢. I won't get through all the belts in my lifetime and at least they are useful.
"General Lee"
Lmao!😅
Needs a tune up , thanks for sharing this cool 70 👍💨💨
PB blaster for the win! LOL. Glad she's a runner/driver!
Not bad for the little bit of jingle you have invested in it. Looks like it will be perfect for what you want to do with it. Great feeling when all works well.
What is the problem? They are only flat on one side. 😂
Tell me about it. I went to ace hardware near me to get a belt for my 706 farmall diesel after i replaced the water pump, I went there and found them none of them showing actual sizes I had to ask for help. Smh I should went to Rural King where they have them showing sizes. Wha t you going to do lol. Congrats on the 70.
Your not right however that's why I watch😊🍻
Belt length gauge. When you have to replace long belts, like on a combine, save the old one. Cut it open, and then you can wrap it around the pulleys on things that you need a belt length, put a mark on the belt where it overlaps, then pull it out and measure the length from the end to the mark. Old-timers belt gauge.
You should throw that pb blaster away and start using knock her loose, it works way better. It may even help with the ladies.😅. No seriously it does work on rusted stuff better and it smells better. Glad you got it going.
Good buy
I love you long time greenie!:)
That's the way to do it if there are 3 or 4 different parts for the same thing buy'em all and take back the ones that don't work
To quote Ollie Schaffer I didn’t need it but I wanted it regarding high gear 😂
I’m going to say for get the steel wheels. That tractor needs to get back to being in the field. A little paint and it will be like brand new. Wow another awesome job
Rubber, scrubber and paint her - thanks for sharing.
Them battery ends are way to big for that cable. I'm surprised they even tighten down enough to hold the cable. Standard size battery ends would of been a better choice.
Was that oil line for the oil pressure gauge I’m assuming?
It runs good. Did the oil gauge go to zero when you shut it off?
To day is National Burrito day, and make sure you are with your eclipse glasses,,, Monday 8 th is a total solar eclipse the moon is getting between us and the sun, out here ,California 10 am til12 :20 or so partial eclipse out here, and in Texas total eclipse, lol your in the state on the other side of Texas right Ross, so I’m not sure how much of the sun will be blocked, lol thanks BigAl California p.s. the next time the total eclipse will be 2044 .
I just bought an oliver 70. 265692?? Sn doesn't match with tractor data.
Should of bought new cables
Yee Haa. SEE
Boy wouldn't it be embarrassing if none of all those belts were wrong
Honestly, the fact you haven't already made a general Lee Oliver is appalling lol.
👍👍👍
Holy kanootson, it drives! I always hated matching up belts, probably the best way is what you did. Just get a bunch and return the ones you don't need
Congratulations you got a great deal
See I told you you weren't an idiot you got five different size belts that was smart it's better than keep running back to the parts department😂😂😂😂😂😂
HI ROSS 😊😊 oliver tractors have a double transmission a low side and high side 😊🎉 on steel wheels I would just use side gears are U going 2 use road bands on the steel wheels 😊😊 OMG 4 4 2O24
WOW! General Lee plus Smokey and the Bandit in one video. Living the High Life!!
Ross. Instead of the B belt you could get the BX. The X means that it has ribs for your pleasure and extra wear protection… lol
Did you ever wonder why the last one you tried is always the right one?😮
😂😂😂congrats Ross , three flat tires ,seat that’s mighty sketchy and the fender waving to everyone . I love it ! Thanks for entertaining us today ,can’t wait to see it go forward .👍
Better then 4 flat tires. Ask me how I know.🤣🤣
Opportunities come disguised as hard work. You took the opportunity and did the hard work. Congratulations!
By gawd, I've seen "That guy in Iowa" drive an Oliver tractor that had air in ALL FOUR TIRES! And, all three on the plow! I even have video evidence of this.
Ross, I love your videos. I gotta ask, is that tractor straight piped? I have to say if it is, you should keep it that way. I think it sounds great! The short pipe also gives it a unique look. Great job getting it running, by the way. You’re a very talented and patient mechanic.
Great job getting that old girl runnin' .... she is a beauty. I can always find something I like about every old Oliver. They all deserve a little time and love..
Cool
Thanks!
If it wasn't for flat tires I wouldn't have tires. There's also no fix like a ratchetstrap fix. 🤣🤣
🤔 Forgot your shift pattern ? They sell decals for that . Blocking ? Just look at the decal . Great video Thanks
Take a four foot piece of small diameter rope go around the fan pulley and generator pulley and crankshaft bring ends togeather and that’s your lenght
It sounds great. After the fuel tank is cleaned out, carb adjustments made, it should be right and ready. See you later.
What model generator is that? I need one for the 70 I'm restoring
Good job on the 70 Ross looking forward to the next instalment of " Ride the Rust with Ross "
The 60s you put a longer bolt in the front cover to lock 5th gear out but I have no experience with a 70
I think you're ahead on this project after hearing you itemizing your costs!
Hey Ross, I see the eclipse will go over your farm. If you can I'd love to see a pic.
You sure you want steel wheels? Think of your teeth. Nice old tractor.
Crome cap will make it go faster, sure helped my old Chevy
I have never understood V-belt sizing, either
I never knew PB Blaster could be used as a lubricant? 😮
I would clean it up put it on steel and use it. She is a runner...
They make a garage door spray that works great on rubber
Running on flats. I call that recycling
Awesome
That will be a looker , on steel.
at least it is not full of water.
Drive stuff off it too
Impressive
More success!
nice video
Thumbs up
Lmao
Heck of a buy young man😊
Hello Ross you never cease to amaze me ! Good job keep em coming when i drive around my area i see old olivers i think there's another on for you
Great video Ross. Congrats on resurrecting the ole 70. I am a little partial to the old guy there. Thank you for getting him going again.
Wow cool she running little work on wheels paint few bits got something
Good job Ross! Olivers are so good to get going.
Good job Ross .
