Nice ol' girl! I spent many hours on the seat of one as a young lad raking and mowing hay. I don't remember the one I drove to have reverse in both ranges. I think it was only in low range. Pain in the butt sometimes to get between ranges. But very nice to see yours run! Great memories!!

I wouldn't worry about installing the blocking bolt. You'll soon get fed up with those tip toe rough riding basta### and go back to rubber so you can enjoy the tractor. I always liked my old 70, need to get ambitious and resurrect the old thing. The awesome thing about that smooth running old 70 was that it was super easy on fuel, I could run all day on cultivating 4 row corn on 15 gallons of gas. The motor was stuck when I first got it, beat it loose with a big hammer and run it! Afte a few hours of Marvel mystery oil, the rings freed up and I ran it for years till the oil pressure got so low that I retired it. Wife trouble and working 2 jobs has kept me from doing anything with my toys for decades. Now I'm just doing my farming and as I get rested up a bit, hopefully I can do more with my accumulation of iron!

I have a large hord of used belts acquired from past projects, auctions ect. They hung on nails for decades sometimes one would fit something. One fine day I gathered my courage and went against my holding nature and when the used belt in quesion didn't fit I cut it to get the correct measurement and went to town to get a new one. I have never looked back. I now go get a belt the appropriate width cut it to fit for the measurement and buy a new one. Then when I get home I force myself to throw the old peice away 😢😢. I won't get through all the belts in my lifetime and at least they are useful.

Belt length gauge. When you have to replace long belts, like on a combine, save the old one. Cut it open, and then you can wrap it around the pulleys on things that you need a belt length, put a mark on the belt where it overlaps, then pull it out and measure the length from the end to the mark. Old-timers belt gauge.

You should throw that pb blaster away and start using knock her loose, it works way better. It may even help with the ladies.😅. No seriously it does work on rusted stuff better and it smells better. Glad you got it going.

Them battery ends are way to big for that cable. I'm surprised they even tighten down enough to hold the cable. Standard size battery ends would of been a better choice.

Ross, I love your videos. I gotta ask, is that tractor straight piped? I have to say if it is, you should keep it that way. I think it sounds great! The short pipe also gives it a unique look. Great job getting it running, by the way. You’re a very talented and patient mechanic.
