- How to Install a Universal Oil Catch Can on a Focus ST - A $25 Mod That Can Save Your Engine!
Here's one I found like mine - www.amazon.com/ESPEEDER-Unive... - Авто та транспорт
Update: after driving the car for less than 100 miles, it has already caught oil and I’ve had no problems
I just ordered this, it has a breather tho.
Asher Demme It probably won’t be a problem but you could try plugging the hole where the breather is if it becomes a problem
came with a bolt inside the hole where the breather goes. I'll just leave it that way
What is the size and length of the hose?
How has this held up so far??
When you got that simposer delete hose?
What sizes of hose did you get?
Where did you get that silicone intake coupler?
What kind of hose is necessary for catch can back to intake? The 3/4" heater hose that I used collapses. Heat from the engine makes the hose pliable, and the intake's vacuum pressure causes it to collapse.
Use fuel like or vacuum hose. There’s a link to what I used in the comments
Hi, what bad news you hear about the catch can with breather?
Same like yours one just with breather?
It will make a mess of your engine bay covering everything close by with oil... 😬
I have same one, but it caught almost nothing. I was disappointed at the first check. I'm going to give it a full month and see how it does.
You have to give it a while
Hey, i was curious about that line coming from your symposer delete plate, what is that for? I'd love to know!
Jemmis The Chemist That’s a true vacuum source vacuum line for my blow off valve. I will be uploading a video on it next week
@@Nickjoenap thats awesome dude, thank you
What year is your ST please? I've seen other videos using 2 catch cans one to the ccv side as well as this one that you do. I've got a 2016 ST and want yo put a catch can on it.
Mine is a 2013, the catch can I did in this video will also work for your 2016. The other side is the one that’s different. If you look at my steeda oil separator video, that is the one that is in a different location.
What size hose did you use I have a 2018 Chevy Malibu with 1.5L Turbo and I plan to install one.
Sean Gowan I used 3/8 inch fuel line
This is good time to clean the caked up valves - and replace your intake manifold gaskets.
And replace the PCV valve!
The out is the now clean air that should run into your intake. The in should come from the pcv or where ever you are trying to vent and clean. The filtered vented catch cans are great and are what should be used to release built up crank case pressure….just maybe not a cheap $20 version is all.
I got the same one but someone told me that I gotta run in on the back side of the intake because this one doesn’t come with the check valve so it has to be connected to a non pressure PVC hose
Anthony Fierro I don’t think you have to. I’ve had this one for about 100 miles and it’s working great. Several other people have these on the Facebook groups and they also work great. I have the steeda oil separator on the back side of the intake
where is the oil coming from/ and where is it ending up?..when i took off my sound imposer blank out plate it did have oil on it ...
Yeah that’s normal. The oil would normally go into the intake but the catch can prevents that
@@Nickjoenap Okay I ordered one, thanks..did you do a rear seat delete yet and get rid of the spare ..about 130lbs gone..what difference ..turns the car into a SUV!
@@Mustangchef I haven’t. I’m planning on removing the spare though because my car is too low to use it anyways
@@Nickjoenap 40lbs , boom , gone..its like an anchor
@@Mustangchef Well I’ll have to try that out
What kind of hose is it I bought a radiator hose not working its getting flat which one did u use?
ST Suspect I used 3/8 inch fuel line. Here’s the link where I bought it www.amazon.com/dp/B0058I2552/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_OeLKEbVEMRKQM
Nickjoenap you didn’t how to stretch the hose it was a direct fit ? I used a radiator hose and it got flat were the intake manifold part is
ST Suspect I cut the hose for the right length but everything fit right without stretching. The rubber is pretty thick and doesn’t flatten
Nickjoenap I got a mishimoto one on amazon $11 works great
Good video, I’m wondering what size hose you bought? got a pretty similar one off eBay but it didn’t come with any hose
mathupanic I used 3/8 inch fuel line. Here’s the link where I bought mine www.amazon.com/dp/B0058I2552/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_OeLKEbVEMRKQM
Nickjoenap thanks dude, just ordered it. Ever since Stage 3 I’ve been getting a lot of blow by. Definitely need to get the catch can installed ASAP
mathupanic It works great. It already caught a decent amount of oil only having it on for 50 miles
Forgot to record 😂 ironic
