- Doubles Vs. Diddles....wait there's a difference?
There sure is, and knowing how and when to use both is CRUCIAL to helping your sound quality and rhythmic timing improve.
In this video, I talk about the difference between a double and diddle and more importantly how they can be applied to different things. This is a MUST KNOW for drummers of all types, so test it out!

Ah, 1 of at least 3 definitions that professional percussion educators cannot actually agree on. Such is the way of drumming.
Great lesson!
Brilliant explanation!
Priceless information!
Thank you very very much!
You are coming at this very philosophically. I think you’re on to something. Keep it up.
Thanks so much!
Great distinction! I hadn't ever really defined this for myself. Thanks!
Awesome video great explaining, Thank you so much for sharing :) this really helps
I love the way you explain!!!!!
Thank you Robert!
Super info
0:28 that was 9 on a hand. You're cut
🤘
Do you mix the means: motion = beat (stroke on the drum) or not? And note = musical note in score. Or not???
You said: 1 motion per 2 notes = diddle????
My mean: diddle = 2 motion per 1 notes!!!
Double is right!
I am right?
Sorry my english 😞
What stick do you use?
single strokes with one note single strokes with two or more notes.
Here's my lesson for you you need to take a basic lesson on how to actually properly strike a drum and what a full stroke is..... How to use an upmotion and all the rest you are playing wrong
Then you figured out that diddles ARE doubles🙄
