Hi. What you're doing inspired us to do something similar. We've sold our house in the UK, moved into self buid campervan and next week are gonna be in spain in search for our little paradise. Hope your maternity is going well... Good luck
As you know i have watched you since the beginning of your journey whilst I was hoping my family would do the same thing, but we are settled for now in the UK and I have very much enjoyed watching your progress. You have both learnt some great skills that will only enhance the progress of your ruin.....that i can't wait to watch and see how it turns out. Keep up the good work both 🙂
Shipping containers are actually very expensive in Spain. And regulations around putting them on land are tight. Pre-fab was an option but we wanted to learn new skills to get us ready for the house renovation - can’t really do that with flat pack… so we opted to build from scratch and learn along the way 😁
Thank you so much for all your videos, we've being following you since the beginning. We are in Colombia at the moment, and our plan is to move to Spain (Valencia) this year and do something similar. 🙂 almost there guys with you tinyhome!... just a question, how is the design inside going to be?, only kitchen and bed?
Ah thanks. Hope you’re enjoying following along 💚 Good luck on your own adventure to move to Valencia! Inside will be a bed, some seating and table, kitchen, and a lot of storage space. Simple, but practical 😁
Hopefully it expands a lot more as time goes on. Right now, tiny is an understatement, I think the farmer's ruins at 14:00 that are probably at least a few hundred years old, has quite a bit more room. How is the plumbing, electricity and water going to be run? Or is that already on site?
Hi 👋 yes long term we want to renovate the ruin, the cabin is helping us learn a little about building, plumbing etc. No running water on the mountain but we have a big rain catchment and it’s common to get water deliveries up here.
Depends on the size of the land you have and the building you want. Always best to speak to a local architect or lawyer, then your local town hall (ayuntamiento).

Hi guys ! I just stumbled upon your channel looking for similar opportunities for me and my partner, buying abandoned land in Spain and building our off grid tiny homes. We’re keen to have a chat with you if you would be open to! Especially on the estate agent and properties to look out.
D and K, I really envy you both as here in chilly, wet London is really bad. Low wages our nurses and train drivers and nearly everyone on strike for more wages to pay the energy bills and our food stores are ripping everyone off and petroleum for the car is way too much and it’s May 8 and cold and miserable and I was wondering if that cabin could fit me in with you 3 (I love dogs). I don’t speak Spanish and cannot cook but I do need a carer and love olives. Must go as the bins go out.
Hello Danny and Kate! I have watched all of your videos - some of them several times. I really do enjoy! I wonder what kind of job you have i Spain? (If i may ask). I also wonder where in Spain both winters and summers are mild. I am very interesting in agriculture and intend to grow lots of fruits and vegetables - even in winter times if possible. /Ed
Hi! We work in project management and marketing, so the building/land work is all new to us! The term mild depends where you’re coming from, but I would say yea generally. It will depend where in Spain you’re thinking

Best of luck, we're sure you'll have a great time! You'll have to let us know where you end up!
i'm waiting your new video...nice to know the progress of your offgrid cabin
We will have the new video soon! just getting on with the edit :)
Well done a lot of very hard work. Stunning plot with the beautiful stone built terraces. Enjoy.
Thank you Valerie. We hope over time to truly bring this land back to life. The stone walls are so beautiful. The more we clear, the more we uncover!
Very inspiring!
Thank you 😀
Yet another first class video not to mention first class building. It really is great to see your project coming along nicely. Thank you.
Thank you 💚
It was lovely to edit a trip back in time!😁
That's a good potted history. I'm looking forward to your future.
Well done you 2!

Epic soundtrack for this one! Great work guys, I'm looking forward to seeing the interior now :)
Thanks! The inside should be a bit quicker to finish 🙏
Super!!
Respect to you both,fantastic job.
Thank you Stephen 😁
The epic soundtrack, the narration, the achievement. 😭 So proud of you, fam!
Thank you for all your help and cheerleading and moral support along the way ❤️❤️
So when are you moving in?
We’ve already slept in there a few times. Once we’ve got the kitchen finished we’ll be able to stay a lot more comfortably 🤞🏻💚

Thanks a lot 😊 It would be great to do something in the UK if you can, it’s just a lot more expensive for land 😔
Surely buying a shipping container or some second hand prefabs would have made more sense?

I wonder if anyone will drive so far to come and check. And if they do come what could happen? Will they remove it or put fines?

Amazing job!!! How did you manage with permits, guys? El terreno es rustico, verdad? Can we come visit? 😅❤🎉
Thank you 💚
We’re actually going to be making a video all about permits and requesting permissions etc very soon so keep an eye out for that!
Do you need a building permit for such a structure in Spain?

Lovely - well done- hard work but very rewarding 👏 can I ask if they permit cabins ( already made) to put on Spanish land ? Or you need permission?

@@SmithsdaleFarm thank you 😊 all the best 🫶🏻

I hope the weather has picked up over there now! Can’t see any improvement in the politics any time soon though
@@SmithsdaleFarm it’s nearly June and very cold one day and warm/hot the next but quickly back to cold 26th May
Are you allright?
Yes thanks. All good. 😁
Something made you think we’re not?!
@@SmithsdaleFarm It was so quiet for a while. But a big relief to know you are doing well. Greetings from Belgium.
