Great to see some old school building techniques here like using real nails instead of or screws. Much greater shear strength. In credible build by the way - very much enjoyed watching the process
I LOVE the spot you picked to build on. I Love the way the land is. There are trees here and there - but mostly open also. I dont like houses built buried in the trees. The land there is beautiful and you will get alot of light in the house and still have pretty views - perfect..
The use of actual tree branches and pillars 👌 those types of touches add 1000 percent comfort, great job and build. I’ll be building mines soon near Mount Shasta.
I’m in love with this guy. He knows what he is doing. I purchased a spec house in 1978 and there wasn’t a one board, joist or corner measured or secured properly. I very much enjoyed your cabin build video. Congratulations! It looks incredible and the scenery and wildlife are beautiful. You and I are very much alike. We both are building off grid, we both started with raw land, we both have a Woodland Mills HM126 saw mill, we both built a cabin. My interior is done with the exception of the wood siding on the walls but in the next couple months that will be complete. I agree with you that while it was work it was fun work building in the woods on our property for guests to stay in when visiting us. I built it 12' x 24', big enough for a king size bed, couch with coffee table, dining table, propane heater. I enjoyed your video with my coffee this morning.

Thanks, from Hells Canyon, Frank.
This cabin looks so cozy and inviting! I love the use of natural materials and the open floor plan. It would be the perfect place to relax and escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Завидую мужику. Есть время и деньги на такое приятное дело. Есть пикап, квадрик, трактор , станки, любые инструменты и материалы, отличная база, где можно все подготовить... 💪👍
I thought this would be tedious to watch, but....NO! It was SO interesting! My X was a contractor, so I was familiar with a number of the products and processes in your video. My favorite two things: the wonky/wonderful small tree limbs that made up the "railing" for the loft and, especially, that you left all the walls unfinished. That very light wood is a wonderful contrast to the finishes put on the other areas and it also makes the inside seem more open and bright, too. Thanks a bunch!!🦌🦌
4:50 Watching you put that laminated 2x and osb header together made me remember my ancient vehement hatred of osb that I no longer have. It might be due to old age or that osb has greatly improved and is not the garbage it once was.
@@LifeontheMoose I'd like to think I've grown up, but that hasn't affected other...annoyances. OSB and chip board are better made now. I especially like the t&g.

Loved watching you build your cabin.
I’m so glad you did! Thank you. 🙏
To watch your video is therapeutic, I dream to reach at least the half of the skill you have, thank you man!
Hey thank you! I consider myself more stubborn than skillful…just made myself figure it out. Glad you watched.🙏
The part of the build that I love the most is that your front, side and back yard has amazing scenery and deers
Me too!
Your work is incredible! I spent the entire night watching your videos and am now a huge fan. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world.🌻
Wow thank you! I appreciate you being here. 🙏
Now that is a great looking cabin!!! Thanks for sharing..
Looks ridiculously warm, cozy, well built. Heck of a well-done job.
Thank you! I appreciate that.🙏
Amazing. I love watching skilled craftsmen showing how it is done. Thank you!
Ah you are too kind! I appreciate you watching.🙏
I like the windows on those slide sides way. The ones slide up and down those make me feel like the mouses traps or hands traps. Thanks, I think you did an excellent job.
Thank you! I appreciate you watching.🙏
The part i loved most about this is that you were resourceful and got creative with doing it all by yourself. It gave me a few ideas for my own build i plan on doing in the near future. great job 👏
Hey that means a lot. I’m honored to have helped in any way. Thank you! 🙏
So a lovely house. The astounding scenery. Built by yourself 👍👍👍
Regards from Sarawak East Malaysia
Thank you, East Malaysia! I’m blessed.🙏
Very, very nice. Hope whoever uses it enjoys it
more than I appreciate watching the build. That
is saying a lot considering the fine all around
work done here. 😁
Wow that means a lot! Thank you.🙏
A true master at work.
Yes, it’s true! But master? 🤔 Thank you so much for watching.🙏
I watched all of your videos building this cabin. This one is a great video for anyone thinking of building a get-a-way and needs inspiration. I really enjoyed this one. and I still think you are a very detailed and meticulous builder. I’m in the process of building an outdoor kitchen next to my 16x20 cabin so I watching you 👉. Thanks, from Hells Canyon, Frank.
Thank you, Frank! You’re too kind.🙏
Nice introduction Patrick….Greetings from down under Australia….nice build….with no technical details….just right…stay warm n safe!
Thank you so much, down under! I appreciate it.🙏
This cabin looks so cozy and inviting! I love the use of natural materials and the open floor plan. It would be the perfect place to relax and escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Thank you! It is an escape for sure. I appreciate you watching.🙏
Wow! Impressive. I bet you were relieved once that roof was finished. That was brilliantly planned. New Subscriber because I've learned some things here. Enjoyed the build and enjoy your freedom. Something we're ALL looking forward to once we make America great again.
I WAS relieved when the roof was finished. Thanks so much for the sub!🙏
Trim job done with a circular saw is impressive! Great job its a beautiful cabin!
Ha thank you! Glad you’re here.🙏
I have no idea how to do most of this being more of a techy guy. But I can watch this for hours on out.
Hey that’s fantastic! I’m not much of a techy guy, sooo…🙏
Hey I’m so glad you thought it was interesting! I appreciate you watching.🙏
Yes, you are a perfectionist. No short cuts. All well worth the effort. I totally relate to your methods. Loved the video. Excellent job!!
Thank you so much! I appreciate the kind words, and you watching.🙏
4:50 Watching you put that laminated 2x and osb header together made me remember my ancient vehement hatred of osb that I no longer have. It might be due to old age or that osb has greatly improved and is not the garbage it once was.
Perhaps a touch of both!
@@LifeontheMoose I'd like to think I've grown up, but that hasn't affected other...annoyances. OSB and chip board are better made now. I especially like the t&g.
@@Maxid1 Agreed!
