I love how your videos are very complete. You showed swatches of all the palettes beautifully. Somehow I think drugstore makeup is getting more expensive. I mean it's still cheap but $12.99-$16.99 is a lot for drugstore in my honest opinion.

I've been thinking the same thing and while it's not rational because I don't mentally give high end brands flack for pricing. I have found myself going " come on loreal. $16.99 for a half once of foundation??? Really!!??" Lol.
+Karen .Houser Especially when you consider that foundation is usually an ounce. For $40, you could def get something mid-range instead!
+nichirure I completely agree. I made a post above you may be interested in. Have you noticed that most, not all, "high end" eyeshadows, powders, blushes, etcetera have very similar ingredients as drug store brands. I first noticed this when I purchased the UD Naked 3 palette along with the hyped up Wet n Wild palette in Comfort Zone. I was experimenting with both palettes and noticed the wet n wild was creamier and easier to blend. It also has less fallout, so I compared the ingredients. While not identical the similarities were astounding. The very first ingredient in almost every single eyeshadow and powder product by UD is talc! $50 + verses $4.99! Ee are paying exorbitant amounts of money to these companies for subpar ingredients, it's ridiculous. I've stopped purchasing any high end brands with substandard ingredients. I now use It cosmetics, Bare Minerals, Pur, Honeybee Gardens, Butter London, and Physicians Formula, and a few others. These products are so much...
+nichirure (cont.) creamier, easy to blend, and I know I'm paying for quality. If Physicians Formula and Honeybee gardens(drugstore prices) can put out high quality products with amazing ingredients, why can't UD, Lorac, or Tarte do the same. They charge enough for their products that there should be any reason for the use of low end ingredients. If love to hear the opinions of others on this topic. Did you know about the ingredients? If so, what are your thoughts/opinions? A friend of mine had recently purchased a new Lorac palette, and she was talking to me about how chalky it was, difficult to blend, and had a lot of fallout. I told her about the research I had been doing, and she was floored. The It Cosmetics products are far superior to anything I had used previously. Their eyeshadow are wonderful, and their new CC Radiance Ombré Blushes are absolutely the most beautiful I've ever used. I bought every color. My favorite eyeshadow palette is their Naturally Pretty Volume 1...
On the eyes, I could barely tell the difference on this video. I don't own the UD naked 3 but I actually really like Covergirl's version. It's not super pigmented, but I like the subtle, purple toned looks I get from it, and I like the quality of the shadows, and some of the shimmer shades are truly gorgeous. I definitely get some transfer with my partially hooded lids, but that always happens. No fallout, doesn't fade much with a good primer, and compliments my green eyes :)
The covergirl palette was on sale at my local grocery store for 2.34$ 😆

You should do a review on Makeup Revolution brand stuff!!! I'm very intrigued to see how they wear, their pigmentation, and their quality! And you're always honest :)

Despite the differences (some very subtle. Some very obvious.) I feel like the end results are so similar that I, personally would not spend the money on UD vs Covergirl. I don't own either; but, I would definitely save my money by going with Covergirl then spend the difference on MORE makeup! Lol..... Just my opinion though😊. TFS
I don't quite get why you didn't like the Covergirl palette. I have it and it is great! Obviously the $50 palette was going to be better quality, but for a $10 drugstore palette, it was pretty impressive.

I just did a makeup look using the Roses palette i love it! i cannot believe how creamy the shadows are! loved your side by side comparison swatches, great video! i never would have thought of makeup revolution!
Makeup Revolution is really upping the quality of the drugstore. I think Cover Girl's is more of a true mauve nude palette while UD's is more of a pinky palette so preferences for both are different. I remember when I was younger really loving their old-school shimmering sand trio but whenever I bought any of their newer eyeshadows I was always disappointed so it's nice they're stepping it up a bit.

I have the CoverGirl TruNaked Roses, and like it a lot. Of course, I use a base. The colors were perfect for me, and I was about to run out. Lo and behold, my friend gives me the UD Naked 3 for Christmas. I tried several of those colors and love, love them! Lasted a lot longer than the CoverGirl, and excellent pigment. But.....when I run out, guess I'll go back to the less expensive CoverGirl, being a budget buyer. Thanks for the video!

are you kidding?? they aren't dupes but the consistency of the cg shadows are 10× more buttery and I have both palates and I use the cg than the ud by far.
same! lol. i have both and prefer the cover girl one and I was surprised. much softer shadows

nahh it suck bad....looked like I had bruised eyes and it didnt last and made my eye look shiny. Doesn't blend or look nice

I love the Cover Girl Palettes, especially Roses. On Camera your eyes looked the same, although in reality there may have been a difference. I do use many of the colors wet. I don't care about it being a dupe. I think it stands on its own as a great palette for the price. There are so many copies of the Nude palettes out there at this point, I think the idea is to get a great look. I love your videos. Your tutorials are wonderful.

I completely agree with the covergirl eyeshadow. I bought it 2 months ago and while the colors seemed pretty, they don’t last and require tons of product. I just recently bought Urban Decays Naked 1 and oh my goodness. I’m in love. ❤️❤️ Now I need to check UD3 or the dupe because I just love the colors so much.

I like the CG roses palette for what it is. Wet'n'Wild also released one with some similar colors that I like, the Au Naturel, I think. I just can't bring myself to spend $50 on any of the UD palettes when I can get pretty close with other palettes that even if I have to combine are still a fraction of the cost.

I have all three iconic pallets by revolution which come out to be the naked pallets and I love them a lot and for the cost you do get really good quality eyeshadows

The Makeup Revolution palettes can be ordered directly from their website and due to the value of the dollar versus the British pound sometimes items are cheaper than Ulta. Shipping is reasonable and if you order a certain amount it is free.

Ok. I own Naked 3.....and I just bought the CG Roses palette!! It sparkled under the store lights! I LIKE the shade differences and if its less vibrant then the UD so much the better for me regarding work (public library). Of course I just brought it home and so haven't TRIED it yet! And I broke my no-buy! Ahhh well.....we'll see how it works 😀!
4 yrs later, and those Cover girl trunaked palettes are still a go to favv.

I am a makeup lover ! but As a college student and mommy of two I am always looking for a good dupe! I have seen many videos of the Covergirl eye shadow being the best on the market. I went to Target yesterday and I was so close to getting it, I saw similar pallets like the Elf $6 pallet and Soap&Glory $11. After watching this video I will deffintley be going to Ulta and getting my Makeup Revolution dupe!

Really love your videos and honest reviews. Never a fan of CG for anything other than mascara. MUR looks pretty good and you can't beat the price. U D? Is it really worth the price when you do such a detailed color analysis? Keep doing these side by sides! You're my go to for reviews!

Enjoyed your video, Zabrena. Was really disappointed in the Cover Girl Roses palette. Bought it last month, used only two shades, and some of the pigment ended up on my lower lids. Too powdery. The palette just hung around for awhile until I finally discarded it. Still looked for rose toned shades and discovered L'oreal's Colour Riche quad in Rose Nude. Love the pigments, and application is smooth with no powdery feel. Lasted for a few hours until my oily skin took hold. Did a light touch-up.
I use Avon eye shadows and I love them Would love to see you do a demo or a comparison with those. Love your videos!
YES, the makeup revolution Iconic 3 is really good :) I actually used it in one of my first tutorials ^^ love makeup revolution. Such an affordable, high standard brand. I love the revealed 2 from coastal scents more tho. More shadows, great quality and really comparable to naked 3 even though it's not a total dupe (as you already know haha).
I would love to see more dupe videos for the high end palettes.... I love it!

honestly.. the covergirl pallete is my FAVORITE!! the colors are suited for certain people only and I find the brighter rose gold color to be PERFECT on me and its CRAZY pigminted with or withought primer! I love the super light shimmer shades too because I even use them as a highlight and they ARE AMAZING !!!! this pallete is awesome I mean the darker colors are really patchy on the skin ad very hard to blend and keep the pigmentation but..... still worth it for the lighter shades

The problem with Iconic3 is that it's much, much less available than the Covergirl. Ulta isn't accessible for lots of people and lots of them don't even carry Makeup Revolution. The Ultas in my metro area don't have any MuR products, even though Ulta's product locator says they do.
On the other hand, every WalMart I've been in lately has the CoverGirl palette. I work a job that takes me into several WalMart per week so I've been in more than a dozen, both metro area and small markets, since the new year.
On a "you takes wat'cha can gets" basis the CoverGirl is far superior. Frankly, I like the mattes you were saying were more purple in the CG palette better than the ones in the UD palette. They read rosy to me, not lilac, where the UD ones read much more brown than rosy.

I have the Covergirl TruNaked Roses palette and I think it's pretty great. I think it's pretty pigmented and it's a thumbs up for me.
