Backpacking through South East Asia in the 2000's. This was one of the songs that would be played alot. When I hear this song and close my eyes, for a split second it takes me right back there. White sands, warm sea water, the freedom, the adventure, being young. Living one day at a time.
But have you ever discovered a lost civilization after being washed up on the beaches? If not then your experiences can never do this song justice and your life here on out is worthless.

These are exceptional times, but in 5 months they will mostly be behind us. It's a small part of your lifetime that you will eventually be able to reflect on in the future and learn from, not fret over. Be strong, events like this have plagued history but not overcome us.
Keep in going it's giving the EARTH a break look how much cleaner the world is mate. We lose some we win some, can't live if there's no planet to live in on...
William Orbit is genius. "Pure Shores" is embodiment of year 2000. Beautiful 90s era still pulsating not gone yet. "All Saints" have the best pop songs. Pure Shores is like beautiful time machine and the best pop song that will beat any late 2000s and early 2010s pop crap.
I have been actively listening to this song for over 20 years, and to this day it creates a magical feeling in me. I danced to it less than 3 months ago, alone in my room and it was such a powerful experience. I don't know many good songs by All Saints but just because of this one, this band will remain very important to me forever. Thank you girls for the masterpiece called Pure Shore. And thank you Divine Providence.
I remember in summer 2000, shutting my front door, getting in the car, taking one last look around, sticking this CD on, backing out the driveway, setting off for the airport, for a month in Thailand and the Phillipines. Soon as I put the CD, I felt brilliant, and knew I was truly on my way, - and it really was the most amazing holiday ever........
So much nostalgia in this song. I wasted my 20s so bad on booze, strip clubs and shallow relationships. I was fortunate enough to straighten my act during my 30s, start my family and recently come to the UK and currently study a PhD. Now entering my 40s, I really miss all that unlimited energy and spark, but I let nostalgia remind me not to waste any more time. Cheers to you all !! Live a life full of mistakes, success and magic. It flies away in an instant. Edit: I just submitted my thesis, what a challenge it has been. I wish you all the happiness I feel right now.
I wouldn’t say that’s wasted mate, I would say experienced the wild side of being young and free which many people don’t/won’t experience. Seems like you’re level headed now and you’ve been both sides of the fence! Kudos to you!
Cant even explain the emotions i feel when i hear this song. Its like intense happiness but very sad-nostalgia but so peaceful too. I really wish i could go back. One of my favourite songs of all time😢
And because of this song, (same age as the band) I finally made it to Thailand to Maya Beach in 2017… and as our big boat docked. And we had to swim into Maya, there was about 30 of us, from all over the world, I started singing this, and everyone joined in! What a moment! Thank you girls! For inspiring me, and every other traveler from all over the globe, swimming the 200 years sir so to the beach, singing as a collective! ❤
you're the true 90's kids, cause you lived your childhood through the 90's, those who were born in the 90's, like myself, 1996, I barely had a smell of the 90's, so I'm technically a 2000's kid, but I still consider myself a 90's kid.
So many memories, from this song and movie...went to this island in Thailand before this film came out...no westerners yet had discovered it .. only a handful.. staying in bamboo huts on the beach.. nearly 30 years ago now for me! backpacking around those islands exactly like how they seen in the film..and to see Tilda Swinton, before she became big!..and how young is Leo !..just a perfect song for this film and what is represents...plus gone to many club's/ raves listening to William Orbit tunes!..happy days with none of the stresses of grown up life ha..
I haven't heard this song in 20+ years then heard it last week. I haven't stopped listening to it. It's beautiful and nostalgic and brings me back to such a simpler, innocent time.
I used to listen to this song all the time back then, my brother had the CD. I just heard it in GTA V while driving a submarine lol, I thought "oh the submarine has a radio, what the hell that's cool" and the song started playing while I was looking at the underwater life. Big nostalgia hit
Probably one of the first songs I waited to record whilst listening to the radio. Oh, those glorious days, the year 2000 was particularly incredible for music...

When I was playing game GTA 5 and in radio played this song I remembered it in second... that its song from my childhood... reminded me times when my parents werent screaming on each other and werent divorced, I played gran turismo 2 on PS1 when was raining only ... my mum was cleaning dish or making lunch or she relaxed and radio was turned on ... reminded me very good times ... but reality changed since then..... and i have nice memories ... this song make me nostalgic...

+NigerianRocker I'm wondering what it is about the UK you like the look of? I'm just interested, living in the uk myself some parts are nice but I don't think it's the best place. Would be nice to know what it looks like from another pov :)
Racster66 Look at the UK's GDP per Capita and employment rates and compare it the rest of the world. It's very healthy. I can see why so many people would want to live there. It has beautiful scenery, and many great cities, particularly London, which along with New York is widely considered to be the most vibrant city in the world. Don't forget the culture, the language is a huge plus because it's so widespread, it's famous around the world for its music, and has the world's best soccer league. You may also laugh, but the climate is also a draw. There are no extremes of temperature, warm summers and cool winters, almost ideal. Especially for those who come from countries with extreme weather. I'd bet NigerianRocker would appreciate a cooler, less humid climate.
I was 8 years old when this song came out and I immediately fell in love with it. I didn't even know the meaning of the lyrics (not an English mother tongue as you can imagine), but the music was just like honey to my ears. Now I'm 26, still listening to this song. The amount of nostalgia is insane, but it feels good. Thank you All Saints.
The genius of William Orbit coupled with one of the best female vocal groups ever to come out of the UK with their superb harmonies. Absolutely stunning track.
This song stands alone amongst the greats. No one has tried to copy it nor use the music. It’s literally such a rare piece of music and lyrics that sits in our nostalgic souls

Shortly before social media, the late 90s and early 2000s will always be something very special. The time when backpacking into the relative unknown still existed, you followed tips and chased stories not knowing what really awaited you - while The Beach movie wasnt all that great, it certainly showed how travel could be back then if you embraced it. Now? Well most of them spend their days in coworking spaces or trying to create forced content to truly have a deep experience...sad really. Sick song... such a mental timewarp
I think it's one of the best songs ever because it can sound however you want I personally think it transports some kind of energy with happiness , sadness and love all together

Watching this while on quarantine. Wish I could go back to the old days when the world was simple. I'd definitely go to the beach as soon as this pandemic ends.
Also watching while on quarantine. The 90s/early 00s were the best days.
These are exceptional times, but in 5 months they will mostly be behind us. It's a small part of your lifetime that you will eventually be able to reflect on in the future and learn from, not fret over. Be strong, events like this have plagued history but not overcome us.
Peter Taylor I agree. And I’m actually doing what you say. Thank you!
Totally agree😊
Keep in going it's giving the EARTH a break look how much cleaner the world is mate. We lose some we win some, can't live if there's no planet to live in on...
William Orbit is genius. "Pure Shores" is embodiment of year 2000. Beautiful 90s era still pulsating not gone yet. "All Saints" have the best pop songs. Pure Shores is like beautiful time machine and the best pop song that will beat any late 2000s and early 2010s pop crap.
the world needs more William Orbit producers

Iconic. Makes me cry. God bless All Saints and the 90s
How can God bless the 90’s?
So much nostalgia in this song. I wasted my 20s so bad on booze, strip clubs and shallow relationships. I was fortunate enough to straighten my act during my 30s, start my family and recently come to the UK and currently study a PhD. Now entering my 40s, I really miss all that unlimited energy and spark, but I let nostalgia remind me not to waste any more time. Cheers to you all !! Live a life full of mistakes, success and magic. It flies away in an instant. Edit: I just submitted my thesis, what a challenge it has been. I wish you all the happiness I feel right now.
francisco gerardo hernandez rivera I love a happy ending. Best wishes from my home in Cheshire
I wouldn’t say that’s wasted mate, I would say experienced the wild side of being young and free which many people don’t/won’t experience. Seems like you’re level headed now and you’ve been both sides of the fence! Kudos to you!

One of the best Pop songs from the 90s! Absolute masterpiece and timeless too! I never get sick of hearing this song! NEVER!

Amazing song. That gear shift at 2.53 is pure genius. What a brilliant group, nobody on this level in 2023!
All Saints & William Orbit worked great together. I love the atmosphere. This is definitely no typical pop song.
I thought it had a familiar flavor to it. Orbit worked with Madonna as well.
And U2 Electrical Storm
So many memories, from this song and movie...went to this island in Thailand before this film came out...no westerners yet had discovered it .. only a handful.. staying in bamboo huts on the beach.. nearly 30 years ago now for me! backpacking around those islands exactly like how they seen in the film..and to see Tilda Swinton, before she became big!..and how young is Leo !..just a perfect song for this film and what is represents...plus gone to many club's/ raves listening to William Orbit tunes!..happy days with none of the stresses of grown up life ha..

The vocal harmony of Shaznay, Melanie, Nicole, and Natalie throughout the song is just brilliant - especially the chorus parts! ❤🎵
That repeating alarm-like sound throughout the song is just so 2000. It's almost trance-like, and I'm sure other artists used it as well. Tune!

Please be at peace, here comes the attention you really need...I also care enough to ask why.....Why do you feel the need to ask if anybody cares ? one of the songs that wanted me to travel to the uk.....
NigerianRocker I hope you didn't come - you'd have been horrified at what British womanhood actually looks like.
Jay Bee not really about the women though just the whole European life in general the multicultural mix the night life the fresh chilled air and all... luckily i experienced something nearly similar was in lille France for three years...
Jay Bee Who said he was going to a council estate?

I've crossed deserts for miles
Swam water for time
Searching places to find
A piece of something to call mine (I'm coming)
A piece of something to call mine (I'm coming)
Coming closer to you
Ran along many moors
Walked through many doors
The place where I want to be
Is the place I can call mine (I'm coming)
Is the place I can call mine (I'm coming)
Coming closer to you
I'm moving, I'm coming
Can you hear what I hear
It's calling you, my dear
Out of reach (Take me to my beach)
I can hear it calling you
I'm coming, not drowning
Swimming closer to you
Never been here before
I'm intrigued, I'm unsure
I'm searching for more
I've got something that's all mine
I've got something that's all mine
Take me somewhere I can breathe
I've got so much to see
This is where I want to be
In a place I can call mine
In a place I can call mine
I'm moving, I'm coming
Can you hear what I hear
It's calling you, my dear
Out of reach (Take me to my beach)
I can hear it calling you
I'm coming, not drowning
Swimming closer to you
Moving, coming
Can you hear what I hear? (Hear it out of reach)
I hear it calling you
Swimming closer to you
Many faces I have seen
Many places I have been
Walked the deserts, swam the shores (Coming closer to you)
Many faces I have known
Many ways in which I've grown
Moving closer on my own (Coming closer to you)
I move it, I feel it
I'm coming, not drowning
I move it, I feel it
I'm coming, not drowning
I'm moving, I'm coming
Can you hear what I hear
It's calling you, my dear
Out of reach (Take me to my beach)

Shortly before social media, the late 90s and early 2000s will always be something very special. The time when backpacking into the relative unknown still existed, you followed tips and chased stories not knowing what really awaited you - while The Beach movie wasnt all that great, it certainly showed how travel could be back then if you embraced it. Now? Well most of them spend their days in coworking spaces or trying to create forced content to truly have a deep experience...sad really. Sick song... such a mental timewarp
