Thanks for the info I have the exact same problem and I just can't figure it out what it is but now I know and w I will do what u did we always learn something from some one thanks for the guy u meet and Thank you for sharing the video
The speedometer was off because the computer read the setting of the dash board transfer case switch or button which was in 4L but the transfer case was really in 4H because of the fault. 4H is twice the speed of 4L and the computer compensates by doubling the displayed speed on the speedometer. The truck only has one speed sensor on the transmission so the computer calculates the wheel speed using the setting of the transfer unit which is after the transmission.
This video just popped up to watch. So i watched and knew why the Speedo was off because of the transfercase. I wanted to sound all smart and make my case but, you beat me to it.
Transmission sensors(two of them) reed output and output shaft speed of mentioned above transmission, thats how ECM knows if clutch slipping or not. Those sensors do not read the vehicle speed. Regardless of 4L or 2H they still monitor transmission RPM, not the vehicle speed. So your theory makes absolutely no sense at all buddy.
The speed is controlled by the ECU. The ECU "knows" if the transfer case is on 4 Low or 2 High. When the ECU "knows" that is in 4 LOW, the ECU itself cuts the speedometer reading in half. If the ECU "thinks" that the transfer case is in 2 or 4 High but in reality the transfer case is fisically in 4 LOW that's when the speed will read incorrectly. If you open that transfer case you will see that is stuck in 4 LOW. But the ECU thinks that is in 2 or 4 High so it shows the speedometer according to that. In a system working correctly, when you switch to 4 LOW the ECU recalculates the speed and doubles the reading. That's how it works. Best regards.
My f150 the shift motor went out in 4 low but I got my t case in 2 hi. Could the shift motor be my issue then or is my taste bad? It don't make a racket
I've had that same problem I bought a F-150 that they put three or four different transmissions in it well on the transmission it has a plate with the computer number whatever if that transmission number on that plate does not match your computer on your truck it will not shift right I had four different transmission put in my F-150 in everyone I'm done something different you know but I took the original transmission that come out of it and had it rebuilt and had a problem since
Tanks a lot for you help I have Ford f 150 2004 same problem I replace de the 2 sensor and still have same problem I don’t what I can do next I gona try the same tink do you say on you video hope work I you have other way how to fix let me know please
Low 4wd is low gear transfer was stuck in that gear no matter gear it said it was in . . So trany would show a faster speed because if in 2wd or 4 high is what the sensors are set for. the higher gear . Basically if in high gear the truck would be doing 100 . But if stuck in low gear, you'd be doing 40 or 50 . But the sensor in the rearend should have corrected that problem. Unless transfer case was reading it was in the higher 2wd high 4wd gear . This would make sense.
What up people need help my o/d light came on and a transmission default it runs in reverse but when I put drive it just drags it just revs high but wont go forward.

Same here

Great info! Could you damage the transmission by driving the truck normally with the transfer case having issues?

@@DugeHick There's only one sensor, watch the video instead of playing with your balls buddy.
thank you for your advise , it was exactly what you said was wrong , put a used t case in working great thanks again
Same problem, thanks for the info bud
Having that exact problem, I was thinking transfer case but wasn't sure. Thanks

Do you know if a bad speed sensor can cause odometer to work but speedometer does not? 04 f150 4× 4.

Where is the vss 1995 f-150 5.8L 4x4? Just one at the diff?
Calculated values. The truck probably thought it was in low range when it wasn't.
Another great, but difficult find!

I gona try the same tink do you say on you video hope work
I you have other way how to fix let me know please
I think there's another speed sensor on the differential.
Great information, thanks for sharing 👍
My lil wrench 🔧 light comes on when I hit 40 I change the PCM an the THRODDE BODY WHAT ELSSE TO DO
I have the same problem but I don’t have a transfer case it’s a 2wd please help same trans 4r70w
I got a 2005 it doing the same thing there no way to fix it other than getting a new tc

I change that but stil blinkin the tow haul light
My truck last night stopped driving as was driving home and only reverse works what can it be
I'm having the same problem good on reverse but apslutley no drive
I'm having the exact same issue. It will spring out of 4 low same as what you showed.
are the sensors the same? I've looked for input and output but it only gives me 1??
will it cause it to reve up going down hi way
First problem, it's a ford
What up people need help my o/d light came on and a transmission default it runs in reverse but when I put drive it just drags it just revs high but wont go forward.
The speedometer reading was way off because some of the Canadian trucks dashboard read in kilometers
